I travel 3.5 hours from DFW which has no shortage of car audio, fabrication, and upholstery, off road performance upgrade shops. They do each better than anyone I've run across- and I've dealt with many shops over the years. The level of customer service absolutely professional and it's obvious they are there to support the clients needs beyond expectations. All while making you feel comfortable about the process and taking the time to understand your goals for the job. The execution is always a level above my expectations for the job! Theres many reasons why people travel so far to have the Mobile Toys team experience. The staff at the store has always been committed to customer service and problem solving better than anyone I've done business with in the past. When you first walk into the showroom they have a nice cafe type setup with tables and chairs and a TV, making any waiting time comfortable. There are multiple magazine articles, awards, photos and trophies showcasing national awards, installer of the year and retail store of the year awards and winning national car audio sound championship awards. I have had multiple jobs completed by the team which ranged from car audio installation, custom fabrication of speaker pods, suede wrapped interior upgrades and custom subwoofer, amplifier rack and custom design consultation to integrate the upgrades to blend with the vehicles color, texture and design. These guys aren't just car audio sales and installation- they add a creative artistic approach to every job they do, no matter how big or small. I gladly recommend these guys and am very thankful for the level of service they have provided me over the years as a client!

I walked in, there is a display truck (without barriers) sitting in the middle of the showroom and I lightly touched it looking inside (there is a Do Not Touch sign in the bed of the truck that isn't noticeable). A salesperson walked in from the back rudely stating "don't touch that!". No introduction, no hello, no pleasant tone. He asked if he could help me with this scowl. I was in this store a total of about 10 seconds yet with that first impression, I simply turned and walked out. I may do business with Audio Video but the place next door certainly lost my business. You don't treat a prospective customer like that. I would rather have a reputable place in Houston have my business.

Jack's Stereo - Do they want to truck to burn to the ground?

Yet provides a high level of service and attention. Old couches made up the "waiting room" and a dying projection big screen was playing Knight and Day on a DVD. Brilliant. I'd made an appointment for tinting, I kept in touch with the shop as the appointment got closer to make sure everything was all good for the appointment (which was also my lunch hour) and the gent asked me if I could come more towards the later half of the appointment, which was fine by me. It pays to ask. As far as tint...they used 3M film that's warranted nationwide (and legal in Texas). It was applied to two windows in under an hour. That was enough time to walk over and get Jimmy Johns and watch Tom Cruise play the hero to a slightly taller Cameron Diaz. It looks great on my car and if it ever stops looking great, they tell me they'll fix it...and I believe it. I know I'll be doing some shopping for electronics in the near future, and I'll start at Jacks...you should too.

They have a IDGAF attitude. You might get a fake friendliness if they think you're going to buy something. Unprofessional. No customer service. And terrible work that will fail. Do you really want people cutting and drilling into your car with thier reputation and reviews? Imagine them messing up your on board computer and suddenly your car won't start and you have to get it towed to a dealership and spend $1000 to get it fixed assuming they didn't burn up the computer with the wiring (then that's REALLY going to cost you!) I grew up here. There hasn't been a good car audio shop in this town for years. Better to check out somewhere in the Woodlands area or maybe Austin.

These fellas are kind, understanding, professional, hardworking, reliable, etc. I'll go on in this review to explain how an installation with multiple hiccups and hurdles proved that The Car Audio Shop deserves five stars. ---------------- ANDROID HEAD UNITS ---------------- I ordered a beautiful 12" Android head unit and asked TCAS to install it. Nick initially refused, mentioning customers are never satisfied with them and neither are they. I paid for them to put it in after the warning, and I saw what they meant. It didn't work with steering wheel controls, sounded awful, etc. I hated it on day one of install and scheduled my next visit that day. ---------------- STINGER HEAD UNITS ---------------- TCAS only sells and installs what they put in their own vehicles, and I understand why. This Stinger head unit has my 2016 4Runner feeling more like a 2026. Everything works and integrates well, and the sound quality is incredible. ---------------- COST ---------------- $100/hr. Don't let this scare you. Whenever I stopped in for surprise visits over the days they had my 4Runner, there were almost always two or all three working on it at the same time. ---------------- WORK ETHIC ---------------- Find a chair in their shop. I triple dog dare you. When these guys are on the task, they're working and working hard. ---------------- WORK WARRANTY ---------------- Unfortunately for me, the dash cam rear view mirror main unit and one camera were faulty. The manufacturer sent me a replacement and TCAS worked 5 hours at no cost to me on a Saturday to get me fixed up.
