I have followed Sabrina through 2 other salons, and now to this one which she owns. My hair is actually silky, and I color it even more often now. She uses only the best products, and her ability to make hair look natural is truly uncanny! Aside from that, she is reasonable and has a variety of open hours which can accomodate anyone's schedule. Don't bother looking elsewhere!! Whew! sigh of relief here.

I visited Sabrina to get my hair fixed after it had been streaked and stripped of it's color. I showed Sabrina a picture of the color I was hoping for and she talked with me about how we would achieve it. She also asked if she could cut my hair, which I had just had cut 2-3 weeks prior, due to it's dry ends. I agreed and gave her free reign. Two weeks later I am thrilled with both cut and color. Sabrina listened then explained and executed. As an added bonus she is sweet, personable and professional. She also came in on a day she doesn't normally work in order to accommodate my schedule, can't ask for more than that.

Jackie is very knowledgeable and explained the differences between several types of hair pieces to me. The one I picked up at the mall ended up not matching my hair color exactly, but Jackie made it work by covering the hair piece with my own hair. Perfect! and you definitely couldn't tell that I was wearing "fake" hair on my wedding day. Everyone loved the way my hair looked at the wedding. Normally I'd be fine with this because I understand that things come up however the fact that Melli did not give me the courtesy of contacting me directly to cancel is completely inconsiderate. Her excuse for not contacting me about the cancellation was that she didn't have a valid email address for me, which is completely untrue! I corresponded with Melli via email to set up the appointment so I know she has my email address. I actually have proof that she has my email address because I saved the email exchange we had while setting up my appointment. Again, I totally get that things come up and would've been fine with this if Melli had contacted me directly to cancel instead of allowing me to drive 30 minutes out of my way. Due to this, I had to sit in 1.5 hours of traffic before finally getting home. Had I known about the cancellation in advance, I would've gone straight home from work and made it in 25-35 minutes. Melli, I hope you feel better but as an FYI I have reached out to Groupon requesting a refund due to of the lack of respect for my time and energy. I saw on a previous review that you called someone out for calling an hour before an appointment to cancel, specifically stating "calling an hour before your scheduled time is not only rude but it shows your lack of respect for a service workers time." Since you have these expectations for customers, you should respect their time as well. It's pretty contradictory that you would have such strong words for someone who had the courtesy to call, yet you couldn't even send me an email. Furthermore, if you wanted alternate contact information for me, you could've asked during our initial correspondence.

My low rating is based on the personal interactions during the appointment. Other than asking what I wanted done with my hair, there were probably ten words exchanged throughout the time I was there. Melli gave the impression that she didn't want to be spoken to and that she wasn't there to hold conversation. I have never been through a hair appointment in silence and it made things pretty uncomfortable. The Groupon deal was good, as was the haircut, but I do't plan on returning to Diva Chic Salon.

I got at least one compliment a day the whole time I had it purple with hidden neon stripes. It's two years later and I wanted something similar but different. She remembered me right away, and I told her she could do whatever she wanted. ALWAYS SAY THIS! I now have AMAZING rainbow hair. She did a beautiful job on the color and used the perfect toner. She then followed up with a fabulous haircut. I highly recommend using Mary's expertise for your next hair appointment. There's plenty of parking nearby, for which she will gladly feed the meter for you. My appointment took less than 2 1/2 hours start to finish.

She was always checking to make sure I was happy with the length & if I wanted anything else done (like bangs, more layers, thinning). This is all at a low low price of $12 to start and a bit extra for longer hair. (Mine was longer than shoulder length so $14) A bargain! Especially for all the attention & time KIM spent on my hair.
