Bootfitter here assessed my feet and convinced me to buy demo boots that I learned were too big and too high a flex for my level. As a result of these ill fitting boots I experienced a tremendous amount of pain, wasted hours trying to fix, and wasted hundreds of dollars and more considering the cost of skiing and ski trips. These boots also put me at a much more increased risk of injury.' After getting custom orthotics, and visiting a 2nd boot fitter, who said the boots are too big to be fixable, I returned to the boot pro (2 hours a way) drove two hours to go back to The Boot Pro. Boot pro confirmed the boots were infact way too big, provided a refund for the boots, without any apology or acknowledgement of the impact of their error. They even tried to upsell me some leftover boots. When I emailed the owner his response was that boot fitting is a complimentary service and implied he would not refund my money if I did not take down my negative google review. Showed no concern or apology. I've heard ill fitting boots are a common occurrence at this store and that the nearby totem store does a much better job.

We did that, with our cooler raft in tow. However, i ended up pushing my nephews in their tubes for about a half mile (past the second cove) before we were able to get going. This took about an hour and a half. About 3/4 the way through our time on the water, we heard thunder. I realized they hadn't covered what to do in the case of bad weather in the briefing. So thankfully I was able to call the company from my tube & they advised us to get out of the water if we heard thunder & wait 15 min before getting back in. We heard thunder in and off for about 45 min so stayed out of the water on some rocks while we waited. I felt like we were bothering the company when they called & they didn't seem at all concerned, telling me it was a passing shower. After we returned to the water, we saw some lightening so I tried getting us over to shore. The water was getting choppy & we weren't going anywhere so I got out of my tube & pulled all of us to shore. We built a small shelter using our tubes & tried to stay dry but at this point, it was pouring. I called the company again & they said there was nothing they could do & couldn't come pick us up based on our location. I checked my GPS & we were .6 miles away from our stopping location. The company told us to start walking back along the shore. We did that and along the way my nephew slipped on the rocks because it was still pouring. Finally, when we made it back, we had to drag all the gear up the hill (which was mentioned during the briefing but we weren't expecting to do this in the pouring rain. When we got back, I expressed my disappointment that they'd send anyone out with conditions like that expected as I truly felt our lives were in danger. The woman said no one was blaming anyone and I corrected her. Yes, I blame the company for putting our lives in danger. She explained that they had no idea about the weather conditions and that this system just popped up out of nowhere. I can understand that but at no point did anyone offer to come & help us. They could have easily walked from where they were & helped us walk back. I would not recommend this company due to the lack of safety measures & how isolated we felt when conditions got bad.

I checked two other spots before coming over to Dunnett. The staff was much friendlier and much more engaged with wanting to service us than the other locations we went to. The prices for rentals were about $15-20 cheaper. You can hold on to your equipment for multiple days and you can drop off before 6pm on the last day. We rented 2 pairs of snowboarding boots, a snowboard and 2 helmets for 2 days. Total was about $80. The gentleman in the location even met us at our car to collect the boots. I would have given them 5 stars but I have a very common shoe size so I had to settle for the last pair available...and one of the boots I was given was a bit worn out. Aside from that I was very pleased with my experience at Dunnett and will definitely be coming back for rentals next season.
