Wow! Family owned business that makes their own ice cream. Creative names and flavors. We tried buffalo chip, which is coffee ice cream with semi sweet chocolate chunks, and pistachio almond, which was also excellent. As ice cream connoisseurs, we found these creamy and not overly sweet. They make their own waffle cones too. Picnic benches with umbrellas for outdoors for seating. I typically don't write bad reviews but felt this one was warranted. We had been to this place the year prior and did not have any issues however this year was a different story. First of all if they are busy there is very little room on the shop to stand, then you go in and we asked to sample a couple flavors and they told us they don't do samples which I'm sorry but most ice cream places that I have been to especially specialty places that have flavors that are not common do samples so you know you are not wasting money. Then we tried to order a flavor in a cone and they said they don't do those flavors in a cone, only in cups. So certain flavors are in a cups and other flavors are only for cones. This does not make sense to me. We decided to walk out and go to Turtle Town and guess what, THEY DO SAMPLES! Staff was much more friendly, ice cream was just as good and cheaper, it was much cooler in the shop and they even have seating inside. Go to Turtle Town. read more

If you want great hand crafted ice cream while you are in Hill City step on down to Cream. We had the Lavender Honey and Key Lime. Outstanding!! So many flavors to choose from. Each is previously hand packed into a paper cup. We enjoyed getting it this way as it didn't melt as fast as hand dipped. By serving this way they are also able to serve so many flavors that you would normality not get in hand dipped. Highly recommend! read more

Asked the neighboring business where we could find this place and he said the empty store is where it use to be and that they are no longer in business. Shop this local store for homemade ice cream! This sweet little ice cream and coffee shop was such a pleasant experience. Service was friendly/polite. The ice cream is homemade and you can tell. Super creamy and a lot of both traditional and interesting flavors to choose from. This is a newish business and you can tell they poured love into it. It is not a chain and looked like a family was running it. It makes their day when you are happy with your experience there. Spouse also had an Americano coffee and tasted correct/good. I love the owners sense of humor in her Mt. Rushmore size (4 small scoops). So funny and a distinct/cute idea. Would absolutely be back if we lived here but we were just traveling through. We stumbled upon Cream randomly and so glad we did! This specialty ice cream place is not to be missed. Delicious, like really delicious ice cream and my husband had the best mocha coffee he's ever had. They make their own chocolate yummmmm. If you like stout, you must try their Exhausted Parent flavor which is a no joke over 21 experience. I got tipsy on half a cone. Waffle cones are homemade and so good. Nice outdoor patio. We recently visited the Black Hills area, and Hill City was just a short drive away. We went to this ice cream shop twice and my wife, kids and I really enjoyed the ice cream. Their availability of flavors seems to change rapidly, and they have quite a selection. The problem I have is, on our third trip to the shop, they didn't have any of the flavors that we enjoyed on our first two trips. I was trying to decide between two of the available flavors and asked to sample the cake batter ice cream as I didn't know what to expect. We were told that they do not provide samples, and would have to just choose blindly.. When I am paying almost $9 for a double scoop waffle cone, I would like to know what I am getting. And this is after we spent over $60 on the first two trips to the shop! Needless to say, I didn't purchase anything on the third trip. read more
