If this were the early 2000's I would have given 5 stars. It's just not the experience it used to be but it's still not bad. It seems that ownership has changed several times since the heyday and it's now cheaper. When it was a top notch buffet, weekend dinner was over $22 at peak price if memory serves correctly. Now it's 19.99. Back in the golden years of Crazy Buffet you would find romaine lettuce, Parmesan cheese, bacon pieces and olive oil at the salad bar. Now what you get is some standard iceberg and cucumbers with tomatoes and dressing. There are pre-made specialty salads in that area (none appealed to me) but your options for tailoring your own are very limited. There is peel and eat shrimp and raw oysters. I think the best time to go is during weekend dinner when there are many different types of shrimp dishes available, plus crab legs and lobster tails in a ginger sauce. The lobster unfortunately doesn't last long and they take awhile to replenish it. I have noticed people stalking the empty lobster tray waiting for the new one to come out. I did witness the whole tray disappearing in seconds as soon as it arrived, so don't expect to get any without putting in a little time. They should probably put out more at once but it's likely part of the cost saving strategy not to. I have noticed that the plates are fairly small. Smaller than your average dinner plate but bigger than a dessert plate. Even during lunch there are lots of choices for hot food. Maybe around 20 dishes. To name a few things from the lunch menu: imitation crab cakes, more imitation crab in a clam shell, hot and sour chicken, shrimp and chicken with ranch sauce, beef and broccoli, chicken and mixed vegetables, fried chicken strips with peanut sauce, chicken skewers, mixed seafood (shrimp, imitation crab and squid in some kind of spicy mayo). The lunch menu doesn't change much so if you come regularly you might get bored. Weekend lunch gives you crab legs. The sushi bar is extensive and pretty good. I generally go for inside out rolls and nothing raw so I can't tell you about the freshness of the raw stuff. I can tell you that the rolls are flavorful. I have not had the hibachi here so I can't review that. There's fresh fruit and various mini cakes for dessert plus ice cream. I enjoyed what they called a "custard roll." It's like a mini custard pie. It's on the firm side and not too sweet at all and it's mostly filling, the crust is razor thin. Even though Crazy Buffet is not as good as it used to be, I try to forget its glorious past and still go because of the variety. read more

I came here with my family because it was my cousins birthday. We got there and I'm we were asked for the drink, i went to get my food but to my surprise my water was not there. My brother who was in the the bathroom at the time and when he got to the table I still did not have the drink. Looooove me some crazy buffet! AYCE crab legs WHAT UP! Served hot too, not on ice. Sometimes they are frail and skinnier pieces, but they still taste great! Their sushi is always good here! The "hot" food was as cold as ice, the cold food tasted 2 month old. almost nothing was edible, crab ragoons were cold, teriyaki chicken was cold, general tso chicken was disgusting, sushi is a health hazard. I've been to this restaurant many times, and that alone says a lot. In my opinion buffets are never as good as fresh cooked restaurant meals, so I have given this restaurant 4 stars on a curve as compared to other buffets. With that said, the food overall is very good for buffet food, most of the time. Friday nights were my favorite for this restaurant, as they offered a delicious lobster in ginger and garlic sauce. The serving plate seems to empty almost as fast as they fill it, so it's often difficult to get enough. But when you can get a nice plate of it, it's awesome, and the biggest reason to keep visiting the restaurant. This is my second time eating at this location and I have to be honest, they are losing their groove. First time was my best experience. Sushi, seaweed salad, and cooked meat and vegetables were mediocre; the sushi was not fresh, cooked meats and veggies were either overcooked or had no flavor whatsoever. The best thing on the buffet table was their crab. I would love to come back but not much is memorable. Tokyo was our favorite buffet in West Palm, but not so much lately. Smitty and I decided to try Crazy Buffet since he had never been and I had only gone once for lunch last year. Great visit! I did not realize they had Habachi. We actually found out on accident. Of course we gave it a try. It was pretty good. I advise you eat it without rice because they have the worst rice of all the buffets we've been to. They have a variety of sushi, but I did not partake as I like to play it safe (Californa rolls, which they didn't have). The bacon wrapped shrimp, steak, and Habachi are our top dishes when we go. We found out right before we were leaving that they had lobster. I think there's like a 5 piece limit per person. Would've been nice to pair with the crab legs but whatever. I started off with crawfish because it seems that south florida doesn't have fresh LIVE crawfish. The crawfish was dry, chewy & bland. I moved onto the sushi (I'm a sushi lover), Crazy Buffet had a large variety of sushi but it seems the fish had a slight odor to them. My favorite dishes from this place were the hot & sour soup and snow crabs. The soup had the prefect combination of sour, hot, and sweetness. The snow crabs are the same everywhere so it can't go wrong. Overall, if you want to spend $19.95 per person on soup & snow crabs. Be my guest and visit this place. Went in with my girlfriend to have some sushi and felt that that it wasn't fresh. Ive been to plenty of sushi buffets to know fresh sushi when I taste it. It tasted like it has been out all day. Everything that should be cold was room temperature and everything that should have been hot was cold. Not a safe thing to have around raw fish. I mention it to the manager and he proceedes to get offended about what I was telling him swearing that it was fresh and begins to argue with me about it. I like this place a lot. Regular buffet is good and fresh and the sushi buffet is always fresh and has a great variety. The place always seems clean and the staff is friendly. Almost every sushi roll was filled with cream cheese. The fish was cheap, poorly cut, and the rice was dry. Every cloud has a silver lining, this restaurants silver: at least it wasn't Publix sushi. I have been here a ton of times and was completely shocked last week when my husband and I reached for the Crab Rangoons and saw a large roach walking on the food! The worst part was the manager's reaction when we told him. He did not act surprised or embarrassed.
