The food is great, the guy who runs the 1-man operation was friendly, and he's got a turntable and a stack of Dixieland jazz LPs to support the mood.

Excellent food with a good variety of choices, along with the standards (Jambalaya, pot boils, Poboys, and beignets), this local offers vegan jambalaya and vegan beignets. I've been several times and have not had a bad meal yet. Depending on how many people are in line, you should be prepared to wait a bit. However, the owner/operator is exceedingly friendly and accommodating. Plus, there are nearby shops and bars for a quick drink to help pass the time. Jazz (played on vinyl) is a pleasant diversion from the pop and/or classic rock that you usually hear in most places nowadays. There is also a small but hopefully growing collection of memorabilia and art pieces.

The atmosphere is cozy, the Owner is the coolest and accommodated a large group very well, and the food is INCREDIBLE. Fresh, flavorful....basically like being in New Orleans Delicious. 10/10 would highly recommend.

The food is amazing such great flavors of the bayou. What a relief, food at a great price with a friendly staff. This is sure to be a hit, always support local and keep Ypsi real.

What an awesome find. This restaurant popped up for the first time today and I just had to try it. Authentic Louisiana flavor coming from my pasta, and the seafood boil was delicious. The restaurant is adorable and welcoming, and much larger than expected. The chef was so kind and kept checking on us. I will absolutely return here. It's a must try.

So good - the food is fantastic! I got a shrimp po' boy with coleslaw instead of lettuce a just the right amount of spicy and fried shrimp cooked to order, even crispy after the 20 min ride home. While we were waiting my daughter and I added mac and cheese which was also made to order old fashioned style with a crazy, pizza style cheese pull. We will definitely be back to eat in a few try a boil. Record player going definitely bayou style!

Me and my husband went there tonight and I got the Cajun chicken penne and he got the four cheese, grilled cheese with crab and we got jambalaya and fried okra as sides and it was absolutely amazing. Bummed I wasn't able to try the beignets but will definitely be back to try those which I don't doubt will be great too. The owner Mitchell is an amazing guy and he definitely makes you feel welcome with a great atmosphere in his restaurant..

I don't necessarily like the choice of noodle that comes with it but I'm sure that could easily be changed. The ambiance is great; the covered outdoor seating is perfect for the summer (even for those who don't love eating outside like myself). All of the hostesses and servers were kind and patient as we ordered. The only downsides were: abnormal amount of ice in drinks, the restaurant was pretty cold, the tiramisu was lacking the intensity and richness I usually get from a tiramisu, and the bathrooms were a little messy but generally clean (not gross). I also completely understand that it's hard to regularly monitor the restrooms.

They have indoor seating and pseudo outdoor seating. It was great to go on a beautiful day even though patio season technically hasn't started in Ann Arbor. The service was phenomenal and our waiter was so kind. I thought the food was fine. I really like the potato croquette and the fried calamari. The salad also was really tasty. It was so nice. We were able to customize our pizza to accommodate our dietary restrictions. I would recommend to anyone that wanted to sit, relax and enjoy a meal with good company!

We enjoy the liveliness of sitting in the bar/lounge area and tonite we were able to get a nice table. It is always hard to choose as they have a diverse menu of options. My wife ordered the Spaghetti Estivi: House made spaghetti tossed with fresh zucchini, yellow squash, Parmesan, shallots and crumbled bacon in a creamy lemon ricotta sauce. Finished with toasted pine nuts. The flavors were very good, fresh, rich and creamy. Portion was generous. I had the Chicken Parmesan: pan fried chicken breasts, mozzarella cheese served with angel hair pasta. The chicken was cooked perfectly, tender, flavorful as was the angel hair pasta. If you're in Ann Arbor, craving Italian, we would recommend checking them out. Service was excellent, as it always is.

The clientele is always older folks, and it definitely has a kind of 90s Italian restaurant vibe, but the food is great, service is legit, and the prices aren't bad for what you get. My favorites so far have been: - Rigatoni and Country Greens - Papardelle (seasonal with sausage, peas, mushrooms, pecorino) - Roasted apple and fig salad - A seasonal bruschetta thing with pears and burrata Their desserts are solid, so far we haven't had anything incredible. I wish their tiramisu was out of this world (it's our favorite), but it's not the best I've had. (Needs more espresso, was kind of dry). The chocolate mousse was good, but much more dense/thick than expected. Their cocktails are solid and they have a nice wine list, including a fun alcohol-removed sparkling wine that I've enjoyed twice now. This is becoming a staple when we just want a nice meal out since we live nearby. Good place to take family or folks from out of town if you don't want to bother booking somewhere that gets super busy or dealing with downtown parking/traffic.

We were given a free calzone (I believe it was a calzone) while we waited for our pizza to finish cooking and it was incredible AND vegetarian!! A huge plus for me since I'm vegetarian, but my husband also loved it. The sauces that were served with it were amazing, too. I got the chutney potato pizza and my husband got the chicken tikka masala pizza. We both agreed we would absolutely get these pizzas again. They're so flavorful and the crust has the perfect texture and chew. Overall it's always a 10/10 experience at Mama Pizza with fast and extremely friendly service along with TONS of flavor! Who would've thought to combine a dosa with a quesadilla? This was definitely the best dosa I've ever had -- perfect amount of crunch! And the fillings were spectacular. Plus, this place is very affordable -- lots of food for the price -- bang for your buck! Plus, the owner of this place was very sweet and threw in lots of freebies. He even recognized us again the next time we came back (he brought up a conversation we had prior, which showed that he truly remembered)! Highly recommend checking out this local business in Ypsilanti, MI -- good places like these are hard to come by.
