The food is great, the guy who runs the 1-man operation was friendly, and he's got a turntable and a stack of Dixieland jazz LPs to support the mood.

Excellent food with a good variety of choices, along with the standards (Jambalaya, pot boils, Poboys, and beignets), this local offers vegan jambalaya and vegan beignets. I've been several times and have not had a bad meal yet. Depending on how many people are in line, you should be prepared to wait a bit. However, the owner/operator is exceedingly friendly and accommodating. Plus, there are nearby shops and bars for a quick drink to help pass the time. Jazz (played on vinyl) is a pleasant diversion from the pop and/or classic rock that you usually hear in most places nowadays. There is also a small but hopefully growing collection of memorabilia and art pieces.

The atmosphere is cozy, the Owner is the coolest and accommodated a large group very well, and the food is INCREDIBLE. Fresh, flavorful....basically like being in New Orleans Delicious. 10/10 would highly recommend.

The food is amazing such great flavors of the bayou. What a relief, food at a great price with a friendly staff. This is sure to be a hit, always support local and keep Ypsi real.

What an awesome find. This restaurant popped up for the first time today and I just had to try it. Authentic Louisiana flavor coming from my pasta, and the seafood boil was delicious. The restaurant is adorable and welcoming, and much larger than expected. The chef was so kind and kept checking on us. I will absolutely return here. It's a must try.

So good - the food is fantastic! I got a shrimp po' boy with coleslaw instead of lettuce a just the right amount of spicy and fried shrimp cooked to order, even crispy after the 20 min ride home. While we were waiting my daughter and I added mac and cheese which was also made to order old fashioned style with a crazy, pizza style cheese pull. We will definitely be back to eat in a few try a boil. Record player going definitely bayou style!

Me and my husband went there tonight and I got the Cajun chicken penne and he got the four cheese, grilled cheese with crab and we got jambalaya and fried okra as sides and it was absolutely amazing. Bummed I wasn't able to try the beignets but will definitely be back to try those which I don't doubt will be great too. The owner Mitchell is an amazing guy and he definitely makes you feel welcome with a great atmosphere in his restaurant..

Been here a few times and am always delighted…read more In this case we were there for Valentine's Day. Service was great and the menu had lots of tempting options. Loved the cheese plate. Tasty cheese selections and a generous amount of bread and crackers. Their cocktails are ON POINT. The Pep in Your Step blended the mezcal flavor wonderfully. The Nightshade Martini was one of the most unique cocktails I've ever had. I enjoyed my pasta, though I had wanted to order a seafood dish and they were out of mussels. Definitely a bit of a bummer. I remember the beans in the smoked duck dish being especially good. My one complaint about this place is the menu seems to feel similar each time I'm there (months to years between visits). Like there's always a similar fish dish and a curry. I guess I just wish there were different options because the menu is relatively small. Excited to return for another visit in the future and would like to try their lunch offering as well!

Fantastic meals and outstanding service! The ambience was very welcoming. We were two couples and…read moreshared the starters - plenty for four people. The salad was fresh and well dressed - simple but good. The second starter was sardine tin. Very very good. Not overly fishy and the garnishes served with it were perfect. For mains which are enough to share, one was the trout! Absolutely well seasoned and crispy. It is served whole and butterflied. We changed the side to the house vegetable. OMG these sautéed garden veggies were the best! The other main was a Japanese curry dish. Here is why the five starting dropped to a four. It was just ok. We would not order again. For dessert we had the bread pudding- another star for the night! To the owner, terrific staff. Everyone we engaged in, were positive and knowledgeable. They are a great team! Looking forward to a second visit!
