Reluctantly went here since the food and service in the Minneapolis Crave was so bad but with everything limited on the Fourth we have it a try. The place was dirty and the carpet was very stained. Parking was very limited with the restaurant being attached to a hotel. The hostess stand wasn't occupied and we had to wait to be seated. Nice bright dining room and the waitress Ezra was wonderful. She was polite, inviting and very friendly. We didn't order alcohol. We did order a flat bread with cheese which was bland and skimpy on the cheese. I ordered the Buffalo burger and she ordered a grilled chicken salad. Her salad was so bitter she could only eat half. My burger was ordered without onions but had onions on it. It was OK but bland. I ordered fries but didn't get them until five minutes after we were done eating. They were hot and tasty though. We won't be back. read more

I typically avoid hotel attached restaurants, especially those that mix cullinarily themes (American & Sushi), however this modern restaurant and decor makes it work. Went with the lamb burger, after 2 weeks in Europe I was "craving" a burger. Lamb cooked to a perfect medium, with a perfect balance of cumin, mint and especially the fennel. A little harissa spice was a perfect complement to the tangy goat cheese. May need a repeat performance tonight! read more

The salmon hoisin poke bowl was fabulous! We had a small birthday party here on Saturday and the whole experience was great. All I can say is make sure you have a reservation and you are good to go! The smoked manhattan was an interesting drink to order-comes under glass with a smoke filled cylinder-and my husband really liked it. Everything at Crave has been very good every time we go. My husband and I went to Crave today for the first time. Wow, is the first thing I want to say. I say wow for a few different reasons. First, the place was so fresh and moderate feeling. For such a nice restaurant I did wish the lighting was a bit more dime(that is all personal preference, nothing towards the place at all). Second, the food was soo good and flavorful! For Sioux Falls, I feel this is one of the best places to get good real food. Third, and probably the best part of our experience was, our wonderfully outstanding waitress, Jenna! I could write a book on what a great waitress they have! She was so nice, conversational, new the food so well. Treated us as we had been friends for years! She is by far one of the top 3 best waitress I have have had at any restaurant. She deserves a raise. Because of her and how great the food was. We will for sure be returning and requesting her as our server again. Thank you Jenna for making our first time one to remember! I hope corporate sees this and does something super special for you. This is a go to when I can't decide what to try in Sioux Falls! Never had a bad experience here! The sushi is amazing and the poke bowls are to die for. For appetizers the avocado and chicken rolls are you great thing to get. Atmosphere both with the ambience inside and the riverside dining outside is such a treat no matter what time of the year it is. read more

Wow! What a surprise. We showed up at 10 pm and they are open until 11. The menu is extensive and the drinks were great. We had 2 great appetizers and all 4 of us had burgers. This was the best value and flavor at any hotel restaurant I have ever been to. read more

My mother in law and I are in town for the night and we're told Crave was the place to go. Go for What we are still trying to decide! We arrived on Graduation Sunday without reservations and we told it would be a 45 minute wait. We sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine. Within 10 minutes we were seated ( which is why I gave it one star). I requested a GF menu and asked if any of the sushi could be served GF and was told no. Okay... so I ordered the Sea Bass in a curry sauce with wild rice served on arugula. My mother in law requested plain seared salmon with the mashed potato and veggie ( carrots) and explained that she is having eye surgery in the morning and has to have low sodium/ salt. The gal left and shortly after our meals arrived. My "wild rice" was about 2TBSP of wild rice mixed sprinkled on top of plain white rice. There was about the same amount of arugula thrown on the side of it as kind of an after thought. The fish was prepared perfectly but topped with an awfully slaty curry sauce. My MIL salmon had some kind of crust over it and I later decided it was a mustard. Not what she ordered but she was hungry so she peeled it off and didn't complain. She said it was pretty salty but she wasn't sure if it was that or the mashed potatoes that it was On top of. The carrots were good though. The other reason for the added star... our server did keep my water full which I drank about 7 glasses full because the food was so salty! I wish I could say I will be back but I know as a fact I would rather eat fast food and probably consume less sodium. read more

The polite word is, comical. Not completely surprising for a hotel restaurant. Tragic because the setting is truly beautiful. Beside the river and centrally located. The host is a blonde in a nighty (pretty close). At the outside bar, the quintessential dork adorned with amazingly cool sunglasses. The weak point is service. Our server was a dude. Way too laid back. There were at most 2 of a dozen that paid any attention to their patrons. The fault rests squarely on their manager. Clearly leading by poor example. The food mediocre. I live in Minneapolis and travel to Sioux Falls often so I was excited that Crave was moving into the Hilton Garden Inn. Unfortunately, my first visit was forgettable. The sushi was not fresh and was loosely rolled (sign of an inexperienced chef). The quality of sushi at the Minneapolis sites is so much better. I sat at the bar and the service was great. I recognized a few of the bartenders as they tended bar before the restaurant became Crave. The music wasn't as loud as the previous reviews, in my opinion. The outdoor space is great and would be perfect for happy hours or dinner on a warm night. Disappointed in the overall quality of food but will come back again and try something different. read more

the atmosphere was good. it was a fancy place but the experience was not up to standards. first the food was e but over priced. I paid $10 for two peices sushi. The fork that they gave me was dirty which they did replace hastily. Then came time to pay. they give use thr bills and no pens, a simple mistake. I had to pull out my own pen and pass it around the table. after they saw me pull out my own pen they gave us pens to sign the checks. the waiter was very kind and checked on us regularly. Overall I will not be returning but it does have an appeal. I you have a lot of money to spend this place is a great option. Edit: After posting this review the owner reached out to me about my experience and even ofered me a gift card to make up for the experience. They were very professional about it and really did care. You get what you pay for here! The enviable was incredibly elegant, and the view of the water tops it all off. The service is simply excellent. Very professional servers, drinks never empty, empty plates never left in your way, warm damn towels to freshen up before you eat... it is truly a unique dining experience! I stuck to sushi on my visit - fish was very fresh and soft just as you'd like it to be. The presentation was gorgeous. My only downfall of the restaurant is the unclear explanation of their loyalty program. My friend and I were hoping to cash in on it and nobody really knew how it worked or was able to explain how it worked to us. We ordered a sushi that was described as spicy, this sushi was the most bland we have ever had. This was our first time here. Originally we were seated inside however it was quite loud. We asked our sever about the outside bar area as when we arrived we were told outside was a wait but they told us the bar was open seating, so he helped us move to there. We sat at the outside bar for 10 min or so before one of the bartenders even acknowledged us. They then proceeded to ask if we were ready to order with out even asking us if wanted something to drink. I had to tell them we'd like a beverage first. The one to wait on us first wasn't overly excited or personable. The apps we had were good, our good to follow was just ok. We had heard great things on this but after our first time, I'm not sure we'll be back. I will say however if we would've stayed inside I have no doubt our experience would've been much different. I love Crave. I've been to the one at the Mall of America and that was good and this one is just as good! I always order the sushi here and it never disappoints. My boyfriend had the bison burger and he really enjoyed it. But something that caught my eye and I would like to try the next time I go would be one of the mac and cheese bowls! The horror of the year 2020 continues! Our party of 10 experienced multiple dining errors during our visit to Crave. The first error was a burger which was served with toppings and the "house sauce." It was ordered to not have the toppings and sauce. The manager (?) personally took it back to the kitchen to have it corrected (could of done without the look of irritation... sorry to have bothered you from your all important job of standing on the restaurant floor and glaring at your staff and patrons). They replaced the bun and couldn't manage to remove all the toppings! We just dealt with it. The second error was a classic... a chicken themed dinner was ordered and was served (insert the drum roll here) without the chicken breast! Is anyone back in the kitchen checking quality of meals? Needless to say Crave - Sioux Falls is not on our list to dine at when we're in town in the future. read more

I will preface this review by saying that I'm not from Sioux Falls and I've always lived in big cities with an abundance of high end restaurants. Compared to the other options in this city, I think Crave is one of the top choices for upscale food. I would, however, only come here now during happy hour because the prices are just that cheap. You have to sit in the bar for happy hour food and drinks, but it's well worth it in my opinion. The happy hour menu includes items from the regular menu and also specialty drinks. My husband and I ate and drank like kings for about $30! The sushi is good and I really like the truffle fries as well. The wine is extremely overpriced in my opinion but I usually get mixed drinks which are great. read more
