Service was very good food was also tasty. Calamari but was good but a bit pricey for what you got

On July 17th, I dined at this restaurant with my son and his friends. The teenagers were a bit rowdy, but nothing extreme. Since I was from out of town, I had made reservations. We were seated fairly quickly. Our server was the dude with tattoos. Well, he kinda seemed more focused on other tables than ours for awhile. It took a while for us to place our food order, and then it took a while for the food to come out, which was frustrating as the boys were hungry. Overall, the service was pretty slow, and it seems like the restaurant could use more help to assist this guy. The server was at least pleasant, so we left a good tip. When I resided in the Chicago area, I frequented establishments similar to this one on a weekly basis. The ambiance was pleasant and the layout of the space was quite appealing. I might give this place another try in a few months when I return to Minnesota. read more

Came here with a friend when we were doing a patient panel at Mayo. Many people recommended this place and we were not disappointed. My friend had sushi. I had a chicken stir fry and it was divine. I have no stomach so I don't get to eat most of my meals when I am out but I was able to eat this. I can still taste it! The highlight of this place though was the lavender Champaign. I've never had anything so delicious. I got 2. I don't normally get more than one alcoholic beverage but when in Rome or errr Rochester :) I will definitely be back to try more of the menu and drink menu! read more

Eaten at the MoM location a few times and this Crave twice. I just don't think I'm a Crave guy. It's expensive for the quality of food, and honestly, I just don't love the flavors that they put together on a lot of dishes. Starters: Lettuce Wraps and Chicken Avocado Egg rolls. The egg rolls were disgusting bland mush. They either screwed ours up or I don't understand how people think this garbage is good. Lettuce wraps were "fine" but it points to a big reason I don't love Crave... the flavors are just cloying and 1-dimensional. It's just like sugar and soy sauce. Mains: Pasta Rosa-meh, Mexi-Roll (sushi) was good, Spicy Tuna Roll was just okay and was poorly rolled Drinks were good, the space is lovely, service was good But for me, it's so unspectacular that the value proposition just fails miserably. read more

It has been a very long time since I have been to a restaurant and everything was great! The drinks were tasty and strong, the food was fresh and delicious and high quality, the service was friendly and helpful, and the ambience was amazing! We enjoyed the food very much. However, the management is very sneaky. When we received our bill buried at the bottom was an additional 5% fee. We questioned the waitress and she said it's "a management fee". That is BS. How many people don't notice it? Wow, this is by far, our favorite upscale restaurant in Rochester! Everything was absolutely perfect! Service was outstanding, the food was impeccable, and the ambiance was beautiful. It was very pricey compared to some other upscale restaurants, and they charged a 4.95% surcharge on our bill. Parking was free since we went on a weekend. Overall, we highly recommend and will definitely be back for another wonderful date night! read more

It was amazing, however the portions are so huge that I couldn't finish my burger. I hated wasting any of it because it was that good. I frequent this establishment and tonight the service was completely off. It took almost 15 mins after being seated before being acknowledged and a server approached. Additionally once we had finished our appetizer, another waiter approached, asked if we were finished, removed the plating , and asked if it was one check? Crave was located on the second floor of downtown Rochester, MN. We made a reservation beforehand for brunch. The interior design of the restaurant was beautiful, and all the staff was masked appropriately and responsibly. We were very impressed by the service and even more impressed by the food. Everything was delicious! Of note is the blueberry and peach mimosas which were made with in-house syrups. I ordered the spinach, feta, and mushroom omelette which came with two fruit cuts, wheat toast with jam, and cheesy hashbrowns for a fair price considering the amount of food. The restaurant had beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows and dark grey clean designs. The food came out quickly. There was pop music playing in the background too! read more

It's not horrible but nothing special as well. Overpriced for what you get, my wife had pasta with shrimp and scallops for example, and the pasta was dry and overcooked, our kids wouldn't even eat the leftovers we had. The central dining area is great once the roof opens but when closed it was pretty loud. This was our first time at Crave. Ambiance is very nice, and wait staff are friendly and attentive. We ordered Chicken Avacado Egg Rolls to share as an appetizer. Very good, and much more than we could eat for an appetizer. I ordered wine, which was good, but VERY expensive by the glass; they could sell one glass and pay their cost for an entire bottle. My wife ordered Steak Frites with french fries, steak cooked medium rare. Steak was cooked correctly, but the meat itself was tough and chewy. I ordered Filet Mignon, medium rare; the steak was cooked correctly and good. The side for my dish was "crispy roasted brussel sprouts, flash fried & tossed in honey soy balsamic glaze" and "mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were good, but had a couple of large chunks, which were not mashed. The brussel sprouts were terrible ! They were extremely hard, not being cooked completely through, and they were definitely NOT crispy or "flash fried" as advertised. Add to that, the "honey soy balsamic glaze" was not a good taste at all, and I had my wife try it as well and she agreed. Overall, the food was just "average", and over-priced for being "average". In fact, we skipped desert because we didn't trust that it would be any better than the main courses, in quality or price. Now for the kicker ! When I got the bill, there was a 5% "surcharge" included. I went back and looked at the menu again, and it stated at the bottom that it was to allow Crave to hire and retain workers. So basically, they are charging the customer for their labor costs ! As a result, my view is that Crave should pay their workers the 5% they collected from me; thus, I subtracted 5% from my tip ! Again, the "workers" (wait staff, bar staff, etc.) were all nice, friendly, and served well. So, I hope the workers will complain to management if they are not receiving the 5% "surcharge" as part of their pay. We will NOT be eating at Crave again ! read more

I've had bad experiences the past two times that I've been here. The first time, the good was great, but a server was cleaning a table near us and dropped a ramekin of ketchup on the floor. The ketchup went all over my jacket. The server told me that he got "a little" on my jacket and gave me a wet napkin to clean it. No offer to discount. I had to dry clean my jacket because of his action, but he acted like he did me a favor by telling me. Next, I was there again two days ago and saw that they have added a percentage fee to the bill. When I asked what the fee was for, the server said it was to help pay for uniforms and things for the staff... really!? Just increase your price instead of adding an unadvertised fee! I would give zero stars if possible, I ordered the cookies and cream cake to go on July 15, 2024 and I got about two bites in before I realized that I was eating a small piece of plastic that was in my dessert. It was super sharp and hard which is how I noticed, then I saw another small but bigger piece on top that was jagged. Absolutely unacceptable, I was lucky that I caught it before any damage could be done, but it's safe to say that I will never be eating Crave again and I don't recommend that anyone else do for their own safety! Disappointed. Plant based menu is not plant based. Most of this menu has main ingredients of cheese. Annoying that if you do want to make some of the dishes from their stated "plant based" menu, you have to pay extra to "sub" for vegan option. For example, the crave burger is an impossible burger for $20, but to make it vegan you pay $26. Ambiance beautiful and relaxed. Clean restaurant. Ok service. We stopped for appetizers and dessert LATE!! Our Bartender, Host, and Server were the MOST accommodating. Highly recommend the Coconut Cake with fresh raspberries. My adult daughter and I were visiting from out of town and thought we'd try someplace special. We found the restaurants decor very appealing and quite fancy. We were greeted and seated immediately and our server welcomed us with menu's and a cheerful short conversation. The hot towel service was a nice touch. We had the Caprese Flatbread "starter", delicious. I had the Shrimp and Scallop Sauté and my daughter had the Wagyu Burger. Both dishes arrived at just the right time and were also cooked perfectly. Nice presentation as well. A bit pricey but between the service, decor, and food quality, worth it for us. One area of concern for us were the huge open windows which face the street below. This female bartender pays more attention to guests who tell jokes than those that are waiting to place a drink or food order. Had dinner there yesterday. The atmosphere is great. The drinks, truffle fries, and servers were very good. My chopped salad was way overpriced for what is was and some of the lettuce was wilted. My companion's calamari made her feel nauseous and we noticed that one of the lemon slices had mold on it. I told the server that her tip won't be affected, but pointed out the problems. She was very sweet and offered the kitchen to make new dishes, but we just wanted to leave. I'm not sure why I took the leftover salad home. I think I just felt so guilty for the expensive salad. Stopped here this past weekend to have brunch. The atmosphere was great, the food was good, and because downtown Rochester isn't terribly busy on weekends it was quiet. We each ordered something different. The eggs Benedict, avocado and egg sandwich, and the Crave american breakfast. The cheesy hash browns are delicious, the bacon was good I might get it crispier next time for my preference, and they had hot sauce for my eggs which is always a must for me.
