At first, I thought it might just be a one time thing, but today I had a chance to observe a few orders being prepared while waiting for my husband's smoothie. It seemed like some bowls were filled above the measuring line, while mine was slightly under. I completely understand that things can vary during busy times, but I just wanted to mention it as feedback. Consistency in portions would really help ensure all customers feel they're getting the same value. Was in the area and decided to stop in. There really aren't many non-name brand coffee shops around, so I appreciate the effort to bring something local to the neighborhood! I enjoyed the vibe right away. It felt welcoming, and I could hear people around me enjoying their meals, which is always a good sign. I only ordered coffee (there's just one size option), and it was good and hot -- although my lid was cracked. They do offer either a to-go cup or a mug if you're staying, which I liked. I do wish there were a few more small Danish or pastry options to grab with a coffee. Sometimes you just want a simple little something on the side. The only thing I was curious about was the music. Worship songs were playing the entire time. I wasn't sure if the owners are religious or if the staff just didn't realize what station was on. It's definitely a bold choice and might not resonate with everyone, depending on their beliefs. That said, it didn't ruin my visit -- just something I noticed. It was my first time at Crave today and I was in a bit of a time crunch because I was going to visit my uncle at UPenn in Philly, and bring him some food. The owner -- who I thought was a customer, and a few of the staff were outside of Crave making a video for their social media and I was completely unaware of what was going on. Instead of me having patiences, and figure out what was going on, I became a bit impatient and got a little frustrated, because I was trying to park (typical New Jerseyan). The owner explained to me what they were doing and instead of me being more understanding, I was a bit immature and had an attitude. I want to apologize for that! I was completely blown away with how amazing the food was. How friendly and knowledgeable the staff is, and the atmosphere in there makes you feel like you're in your little own oasis, not NJ! I got the Hungry Man bowl -- 10/10. -- Roasted potatoes served with broccoli, burnt carrots, cheddar cheese, bacon, chimichurri steak, drizzled in their basil pesto. Also 2 kids bowls, one was for my uncle because he can't eat large portions anymore. My son tore his up and once I got to UPenn and my uncle woke up from a nap he ate half. They both enjoyed it very much! The steak and chicken were juicy, tender, and full of flavor. I really enjoyed every bite of the Hungry Man bowl! I passed an article saying that this was one of the best cafés in Mercer County so of course I had to try it! I must say that the ambience, the food service and the quality of food definitely lives up to the hype that reviews an article articles have been talking about. Everything is made with clean and organic ingredients. The food is fresh and made to order. I had a chance to try their lentil soup and their steak sandwich and neither disappointed The steak sandwich is extremely tender and there crave natures sauce is definitely a must try! The pumpkin spice latte was so good that I was going to order a second drink off their menu just to see how good their other beverages are. I went around 10 AM on a Friday and their bakery was almost completely sold out, so unfortunately I didn't get to Try many things. Cute cafe. I enjoyed my blueberry ube latte--nice strong espresso with a blueberry flavor that's not overpowering. I didn't taste ube. The almond croissant was good, but $5 for a croissant is a bit pricey in my opinion. A cold brew, latte and croissant came out to be $20 in total. I was looking for a lunch spot for light food and gluten free options for my friend who has Celiac. So glad we found this spot! They have everything from paninis to tacos to salads to bowls, all made with natural, fresh ingredients. I always enjoy a place that has "choose your own adventure" options so I built my own bowl. This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. None of the ingredients were the least bit fresh, and at least half were from a can. The bacon was a perfect replica of what I have tasted in low grade college cafeterias and prisons. I'm not sure whether the other reviews are paid or what is going on, because nothing at all about this place's food is worth paying for. The cool thing about the Bali Plate is that you can kind of build your own breakfast with it--it's super customizable and everything on it tastes fresh and balanced. The ambiance is chill, low-key, and never too loud. You can actually hear yourself think (or your brunch date). They always have a good playlist going, and the vibe makes it easy to just relax and enjoy your meal. I recently tried my first meal here , the Hungry Man Bowl, to go I was impressed by both the flavor and the portion size. The roasted potatoes were perfectly seasoned, the broccoli and carrots had that nice caramelized edge, the geound meat i cant remmber what i picked it was Not much fat or grease , flavorful. The cheddar and bacon added just the right amount of richness, while the basil pesto tied everything together with a fresh, herby finish. It's one of those meals that feels indulgent but still balanced, which actually inspired me to want to recreate it for meal prep at home. To go with it, I ordered the Matcha Mind Smoothie, which was creamy and energizing. The matcha gave a subtle earthiness, while the avocado and almond butter made it rich and satisfying without being heavy. It had a natural sweetness from the banana and a boost of nutrients from the hemp seeds and lion's mane mushroom powder. It felt like a treat that was also fueling my body in the best way. while I was waiting for my order, I noticed that they had outside seating and a breakfast menu. The food was very good! The curry shrimp was delicious!! And I enjoyed the Samari Bowl. I also had a nice salad with beets and sweet potatoes, which were delicious. The only issue was the salmon I ordered, which was very dry I couldn't even eat it. The manager was very nice as well. Iman worked with me and Uber Eats to resolve an issue I had with a cancelled order. She really helped me understand the situation and the resolution that would take place. read more

Found this place after traveling most of the day. Menu is very healthy with fresh ingredients and the staff is very helpful. We (wife and I) have a number of allergies and conditions which make food selection important. They make bowls here and have a kitchen which serves breakfast food all day. I had the loca chicken bowl and the wife had a make your own. Generous portions and very tasteful. The restaurant is the type you order at the counter then take your food and sit. Kinda a cool vibe in there - casual and relaxed but comfortable. If we were local we'd definitely make this a regular place. Highly recommend read more

I used to love this place but the service and food quality has gone down in the last few months. Last time I went, it took 40 minutes for me to get my carry out order and when I asked about it, they told me they forgot about it. This time will be the last time because I ordered the sunrise salmon and the fish was old, bread was dried out, and I got only a few potato slices as a side. On my first visit the pancakes were cold and tasted old. However, I gave them a second chance and I went back this time with my husband. We asked for the combo soup + panini, the lady mentioned that the paninis were not ready and that we would have to wait for around 15 minutes. We figured that was ok since we were going to have the soups first.. after waiting for 10 minutes or more, the soups we got were cold!!! Asked for them to heat them up plus the paninis took half hour to be made when the place was practically empty!! How is this possible? Not to mention that the attitude of both ladies in front was not the best, not helpful and not even a thank you or a smile. Also, one of the bathrooms did not have soap, which was annoying since we had to go to the other restroom to wash our hands. They should improve their service. It's easy to pass by this little strip mall. I learned the hard way that once you see it you have to pull into the side street that is just before it, or you will have to double back around. But once inside I really liked the casual and slightly upscale vibe. My downfall was seeing the pirogi sign, which weren't on the online menu. Instead of looking at the individual ingredients that could make up my bowl, I also got distracted by the many desserts. I quickly decided on the Loca chicken bowl and moved on to further inspect each sweet treat. Everything looked great but I narrowed my choices down to a brownie and apple cake. At home, I cooked some onions to go with the pirogi. I was glad I did because they were a little bland. I probably could have asked for onions while there. The dough seemed overcooked but maybe because they had been in a warming dish. The bowl however was very good. I really liked the corn and carrots but the chicken was even better. I think it was lightly seasoned with mustard seed, and it imparted just a mild flavor to it. The next time I visit I'll customize a bowl or try the one with steak and potatoes. Both desserts were very good and both GF I believe. The apple cake was dense and moist with a lot of apple on top. The brownie was dark and rich and had a great texture. I'd get either again or try that blueberry crumb cake that beckoned. Service was friendly and professional, and I was happy to learn that this is a Ukrainian business. 4.5 stars read more

Taken by surprise how attractive this vegan gluten free oasis was on Brunswick Avenue (Rt. 1), Lawrenceville, NJ. Cool wood and brick tones with thick plank tables in low and hightop forms. Friendly, informative service offered with obvious pride in what they have created here. I went with a breakfast sandwich of fried egg and cheese on croissant with side of turkey bacon and large coffee roasted by Bucks County Coffee Co. I sat at a hightop for six where I could see everything going on, and even a peak into the kitchen through a slot window in the red brick. They also offered larger healthier meals, but I knew I could never finish something as substantial as their Green Goddess Bowl. They also do active onsite baking, but beyond a free sample of the blueberry muffin/coffee cake, I can't do sugar in the morning. That bite was quite tasty, however. The grub was very good, and I sat a while after finishing to do a little reading and take in the pleasing zen of the room. Gotta hope these folk succeed, both for the atmospherics they have fostered, and because they deserve it. Lord knows this stretch of Lawrenceville sure can use a cosmic makeover. read more

So very glad that a friend suggested that we lunch at Crave this past week. I was pleasantly surprised that this trendy spot was so close to my office in Trenton! It was actually only a 6 minute drive - very doable on my lunch hour. The interior of Crave is so pretty and earthy. They have a very nice covered outdoor area as well. We were immediately greeted by the pleasant staff when we approached the counter. I opted for the Caesar with chicken and my friend ordered a "build your own." I liked that they asked me if I wanted my chicken cold or warm. I'm a warm chicken on my salad type of gal! Salads were fresh & prepared quickly. I cannot wait to return to Crave. The service is friendly and accommodating My regular size entree bowl was $16 The medium summer vegetable soup was $11 The summer vegetable soup was mediocre and a bit salty The last time I had their lentil soup and didn't finish it. It too was ok The creamy sweet potato and carrot soup tasted good. My bowl consisted of teriyaki tofu broccoli sweet and regular potatoes beets and romaine lettuce which I chose from their options. I also got their pickled cabbage and pickled onions. They are yummy. I could eat them all day. I like that their take out containers are compostable It's great to have a clean food menu which is wholesome and tasty. They have a sign announcing that they have a discount for teachers and students. Don't know if they have a senior discount. Criticism is a bit pricey for the portions and it's not organic and not sure if it is non gmo. The gluten free brownie with chocolate chips was delicious.
