I recently won an auction of a fairly fragile item I bought at a high price (for me). I shopped around for the best shipper around Irvine, CA. I used several criteria--such as website presence, other reviews--and then talked to the owner by phone.
Jose Ramirez, the gentleman in charge of Craters & Freighters in Irvine was very helpful in my decision. I decided to go with his company. As usual, I'm very careful to specify all aspects of packing and shipping. I shared with Jose my specific concerns getting the package to me on time and in perfect condition. He was always prompt, friendly, and professional in his replies--via phone or by email.
I finally received my item...
I was frankly surprised at the level of protection they provided. A level of protection I could only have dreamed of. There was no way it would be harmed by anything other than a catastrophic event. Included in their reasonable price, was the shipping charge.
Communication was great all through the event. I'm pretty hands-on; and they did not disappoint--ever. I rarely take time to write reviews. But I like to reward effort that's super excellent. Finding someone I can trust is huge. You buy something... actually win it in a bidding war... and you want it to get to you--not in pieces--but in one piece. I'll use them again.
Their price, actually, was lower than some; which I'm sorry to say, did make a little difference in my decision...being that I don't know anyone in the shipping biz in that area. But I'm proud to have made the right choice. Included in that price is their own insurance--covering their handling from acquiring the item from the source, to shipping to you.
I read a lot of reviews of products on Amazon. Sometimes, I check the authors of some reviews, and surmise that some are shills. That I am not. I don't even live near this biz. I live in Arizona. Take it as you may, but ignore my review at your peril. (Hey, Craters--please continue to live up to my review... my reputation is on the line ;) Anyway--give them a call, and see what you think.
Good Luck,
