DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutly worst place ive ever been in keeping it short to get the point across 1. mold in the apartment walls and we got sick 2. maintance left a huge hole in our wall and tried to leave it there over night when we had $1000's worth of equiptment and our cat in the unit 3. they dont clean the common area unless called out (multiple used sex toys and items left in common areas when they had notice of it and did nothing for 2 weeks 4. staff and manager (krissy) are VERY unhelpfull and dont care about the tenats there and was caught lying to us on multiple ocations 5. our catalitic converter and our bike was stolen in the parking lot and the staff didnt do anything when the report was filled both times when we pay for security on the premisis but it just "parking athority" 6. we have noted on our paper work "do not enter without premission" yet they were caught a handful of times entering the unit without our say PLEASE take this review in consideration when your are planing your move. ive had bad experences when it comes to looking for units but beleive me when i say THIS IS NOT A VIABEL OPTION (UPDATE TO RESPONSE) Kristy, we have reached out to you multiple times to you and your team and to no avail and I strongly disagree to your response to this review. You say that you and your team really cares about your residents but all people say about your team is about your baked goods you make, nobody cares about your baked goods. What they really care about if they are paying way too much for a unit is for that unit is to not have mold in it, appliances that are not 40 years old, ACTUAL security and not parking authority, punctual and practical response to a problem and not scripted messages that just basically tells your tenants "your problem and not mine" Also we were comming from another tandem apartment and expressed our concerns about that but YOUR TEAM responded with "that is our stepsister location" and " we are like them but not like them" We have expressed our concern and I really didn't want to put it all on blast like this but I don't want others to suffer that are in a more desperate situation that are just trying to find a place to call home (UPDATE because I was forced to) Sence someone doesn't believe me pictures were posted of some of the situations and their descriptions read more

Lived in a 2b1b unit during my time in undergrad at Davis and loved it! The "Cranagement" staff is absolutely amazing and are always happy to help (shoutout to Krissy, Morgan, Daniel, Sergio, Raf, and Lupe)! The office staff is super friendly and the maintenance staff is always so attentive (I've never had to wait more than 48 hours once I've submitted a request). Some of my favorite things about living here were: - Giveaways and contests! Their social media team posts when they're happening on Instagram @cranbrookapartments. I especially enjoyed the scavenger hunts around the complex and when they'd provide donuts and coffee from Boss Cafe during finals week! - 24/7 access to the study lounge with free printing and a coffee bar! - On site parking! - Unitrans bus stops for the E, P, Q and lines that ran every 30min-1hr to UC Davis and around the city! - Walking distance to Nugget Markets and CVS pharmacy! You can find a good mix of community members and students at this complex since it's in a more calm and quiet part of Davis. It's also pretty affordable compared to most places like North Davis. Overall, I am extremely grateful for my time here at Cranbrook and will miss calling this place home! read more

Recently moved away from Cranbrook. Miss the ambience and peace. The cranagement has always been soo helpful and understanding! Chrissie is the best! And not to mention the awesome and quick maintenance team. Sergio and Rafael helped a lot in any quick repairs and Roberto even helped repair my bike! Morning cookies and coffee are always a treat! Apart from a bit far from campus, I really enjoyed my stay! read more

We just moved our kid into these apartments to start school at UC Davis. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We had to drop some stuff off, in the grass area, before the apartment was actually available, and they were fine with it. There were cookies baking in the office and a welcome sign. It all felt very friendly and comfortable. The shower head was low, so they put in a work order to get that raised up. The apartment was clean and the pool area is nice! I believe our kid will enjoy the year ahead. Thank you to ALL the staff at Cranbrook for getting this year off to a positive start! read more

I live in a 1BR apartment here, and have for about a year and a half (recently renewed lease). The management team here is fantastic. While the apartments are relatively old, some apartments (and I assume more in future) have/will undergone interior upgrades which make living more comfortable. If you have the option for an "upgraded" apartment, it is definitely worth the extra bit of rent. For their size, the price-point is very reasonable ($150-250 cheaper than many apartments of similar size). Are there nicer apartments out there? Yes. This is particularly true for UC Davis students (which I am not), who appear to have access to more, and often subsidized housing. If you're a working professional/not a student, I would highly recommend Cranbrook. Many of the tenants here are working professionals, which is a huge PRO if you want a quieter community. The biggest issue for me, and of absolutely NO FAULT of the team here, is that many of the apartments on the West End have major noise problems when it comes to the freight trains that pass. Apartments will rumble and occasionally train horns will go off. This doesn't occur during night hours though. This is an issue for most apartment complexes (not just Cranbrook) that are situated next to the train line. If you want to avoid this, apply for a "Standard" or "Cottage". The flooring for upstairs apartments can be weak/thin, and this may be an issue for downstairs tenants but may be avoided if you communicate with your upstairs neighbor (sometimes they're unaware of how much noise can be heard). I'll also add that I've visited many other friends' apartments in Davis (rated 4+ on Yelp/Google Reviews) and they too note that noise from upstairs can be an issue. In essence, the management and maintenance team here are awesome. The price-point is very reasonable. The amenities are fantastic. Best suited for a non-student or working professional. Other PROS: Free parking, free fast internet, pretty decent pool and hot tub, ample laundry facilities, decent gym and study space, regular 'give-aways'/events Cons: Train noise for West End apartments, potential noise from upstairs for downstairs tenants read more

Just moved away from Cranbrook. I honestly miss it already. I lived here for a total of 2 years. It's fairly old buildings but Evon and others keep it running! The appliances work fine and if something is wrong maintenance comes and fixes it right away! I lived in West End right by the train tracks and it doesn't pass at extremely late or early ours. (9 AM to 6 PM I would say maybe three times a day?) It never really bothered me. There was an increase in crime before I left (a couple of cars got broken into) which was concerning. I wish the apartments came with a microwave but its a simple appliance to buy. Bugs can be an issue but the exterminator they bring in is great and professional! People work hard to keep this place in good condition and it shows! Gym is on the smaller side as well as the common room but with COVID I guess that's out of the picture. They've done a great job trying to keep everyone healthy with face masks and installing a hand sanitizer dispenser at the mailboxes. Keep up the great work all!! I'll miss it here! It truly became my home. read more

We lived there for more than two years and our experience was mixed. Pros: Cheap, good location, quick maintenance service, nice clubhouse. Cons: 1. The building structures are old. We lived on the 2nd floor and the floor in our apartment was weak in some places. This irked the downstairs tenets a lot and they complained multiple times. it made us super uncomfortable in the apartment and we were tiptoeing all the time. The management did not do anything except a small personal inspection that concluded that the floors are weak and that's what is generating the noise. 2. All facilities in apartments are not as shown in the model apartment. We lived in 1 bedroom apartment many other 1 bedroom apartments had two air conditioning units (living room and bedroom). But ours did not. We were paying the same rent as others and others were getting better amenities. Even After multiple requests, the management did not give us another AC unit. This almost felt like cheating to us. Overall recommendation: It's one of the cheaper apartment complexes in Davis, but not the most comfortable. You get what you pay. read more

Wonderful apartments. Visited a friend here. Beautiful plants and lovely neighbors. Good atmosphere. Kind management

We have lived here almost 4 years and love the management and maintenance team! Very responsive and reliable! I would highly recommend Cranbrook or any Tandem Property in Davis. read more

I'm moving out, and I'm genuinely bummed about it. This place has been the best apartment complex that I've ever stayed in. The rent, the maintenance crew, the location, the management - it's great. I've never had such consistently good encounters with both management and maintenance as I have here; the employees take pride in their work and are warm to the people who live there. I can only hope that my next apartment will have half the level of service given by the folks at Cranbrook, because they are exceptional. read more

It is relatively cheap and old apartment, but the maintenance team is super responsive and friendly. Sometimes I call them for stupid reasons, and they never got impatient. They always come within 24 hrs. Additionally, though it looks old, the house is very durable. I remember being careful in my old apartment to avoid breaking something. A lot of things in my old apartment was temporary and can be broken easily. In Cranbrook, however, most things need a bit force to be turned on (especially the shower control thing, pull it out hard!), and that's is an ease for me because I tend to break things. I especially like the boards at the corner edge of the tub. They prevent water from coming out. Also the shower wall is easy to clean. read more

They have roaches, the train run all day, noise hours are from 8a.m to 10p.m, but noises from the train and the laundry room start at 5 a.m to 2:00 a.m the next day. The trash man , neighbors stomping upstairs and say I am the problem downstairs because they have no t.v or no device's to entertain them so they listen to what I have got on downstairs, i knocked on there door and they lied to the office. Be careful where you move too. Noise everywhere but your neighbors will worry about you more. read more

Living here has been nothing short of fantastic. The staff is amazing and always there to answer questions. The maintenance team is all time and fixes things very fast. They really do go above and beyond to resolve issues and get things taken care of. The units are extremely comfortable and practical. The complex has beautiful landscaping and it's about a 20 min walk to downtown Davis, making it perfect for college students and working professionals. Cranbrook also features a huge swimming pool (and jacuzzi) as well as washer/dryers that use credit card (making them very convenient). There's a study area and gym too that's well-equipped. The complex is also very quiet at night (for study and sleep) but lively in the day making it a fun place to hangout. I love living here and I think you will too. I'd give it six stars but Yelp only lets me do 5. read more

I lived in Cranbrook for 3 years as an undergrad at UC Davis. The complex has a lot of families and professionals and is nice and quiet. The staff was always very friendly and welcoming when I went into the office. I love the little events they throw for the residents like their pre-Thanksgiving dinner and Valentine's day treats. As a student, it was extremely convenient to be living right next to the E bus line which goes right through downtown to campus. The complex has a HUGE parking lot (very hard to find parking at other apartment complexes) and is located close to the Nugget market and a Safeway down the road. The location also provides easy freeway access! Also a huge shoutout to the maintenance guy they hired a few years ago. He was always very responsive if we had any issues with the apartment. This was my first apartment and it will always have a special place in my heart! If I ever move back to Davis or the Sacramento area I would love to live in Cranbrook again! read more

The staff here is great, very friendly and accommodating! They'll go out of their way to help out. I'm on the second floor in a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment quality is nice-everything was clean when I moved in, but some repairs had to be done for the shower to work. The staff responded very promptly to fix what was needed and was super nice about it. My main problem is being able to hear my downstairs neighbor through the floor. The apartment is very spacious and has both a kitchen pantry and an extra closet for storage. The general area is quiet and open with well-kept landscaping. It's fairly close to the train tracks, but they price apartments next to the tracks lower to compensate. There's a bus stop right next to the complex and it's about a mile or two from downtown and some grocery stores. Parking is always available and there are amenities including a pool, small gym, clubhouse(where they make cookies every weekday!) and laundry room. Overall I've been very happy to live here! read more

I lived by myself here during senior year of college. It was okay. Nice to get away from nightmare roomies, but the guy that lived below me was constantly noisy and the neighbors next door were always yelling at each other and they had 3 small children that frequently sounded unhappy. Aside from the neighbors, the management was pretty decent and they took care of my mouse problem quickly. Creeped me out though but I guess living in an older apartment you expect that. Also, the person that lived there before me can't have cleaned the place very well because there were cat pee stains everywhere. Gross. read more

I lived at Cranbrook for three years and just moved out. I'm really sad to be leaving this place. Out of all the places in Davis, Cranbrook is really affordable. Krissy, Von, Sonja and Tiffany made my experience so amazing there. They are always very warm, welcoming and thoughtful. The maintenance team is AMAZING! They take care of any maintenance issue you have either the day of or the day after. I had an issue with my dishwasher (only issue I really had there) and they just replaced it out for a new one altogether for me. The community here is full of very nice, friendly people. The grounds are always well-maintained. The pool and hot tub is super nice, the gym is well-equipped and the laundry facilities are always clean and rarely busy. The laundry machines also take credit/debit cards which is so convenient! They also offer snacks for students during finals week! They hold thanksgiving dinner for the residents as well and have cool giveaways and Halloween competitions. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to move to Davis. You will be so happy with the price you're paying and all the amenities you're getting along with great service! Unfortunately, I had to move due to my new job, but I feel homesick in my new place because I keep thinking about how cozy and homey Cranbrook was. I would move back any day! Thanks for all the great memories and great service! read more

Moved into Cranbrook just bout a year ago. I'm very happy in my new space. My neighbors are very friendly.

Lived here for TWO years. it was really a great experience MAINLY and MOSTLY because of the staff. They are such a great management team. Tiffany was there from the beginning, i moved in sight unseen from out of town and she helped me with EVERY. THING. She has been extremely nice and professional the past two years. Kristi is also very very kind. Eric and Von the groundkeepers and maintenance team were also great. Every concerns or problems/issues i had were addressed within one or two days, it's really crazy. I never had a bad experience with the management team. They are always willing to help. They even help deliver your package for you if you are too busy to come pick it up. Sometimes Von gave me rides on his golf cart from my car to my apartment. I travel around a lot for work and Von and Eric are my go to with everything and keeping my car and apartment safe. One time, my heater didn't work, they came in the very next day and the problem was bigger than it was, they let me borrow a space heater, lol how awesome! The pool and hot tub were great as well. i used the hot tub all the time and they keep the common area really nice. Enjoyed and appreciated the events that they would put up. Overall it was an AMAZING experience. I wish can uproot this entire team of sweet humans and bring them with me wherever i end up next. This is probably one of the most bang for your bucks places in Davis you really do get what you paid for. Some things that i wish the apartment had (it was my choice to move in and the price reflected it so i can't fault the rating) are 1. my own designated parking. (if you come home late from work like i do, you might be out of luck with parking) 2. in-unit washer and dryer. 3. Gas appliances. 4. a better gym with bigger equiptments and dumbbells that go up more than 50 lbs again you get what you pay for so i can't fault the complex. The management team really ended up growing to become my family and i will truly miss living here. I didn't even clean the unit that much or did anything too crazy and i got my full security deposit. Thank you so much for a great two years CRANBROOK TEAM! I will miss you all. read more

I only moved out yesterday and I already miss it! A real catch, especially in Davis where rent is very competitive and complexes don't have to try to distinguish themselves... Cranbrook does! Management isn't only friendly, they go out of their way to help you -- answer questions, resolve issues, whatever, it is, they're fast and efficient. Maintenance is great too! I'm someone who really values my privacy, and that was another fantastic thing at Cranbrook; I always felt comfortable and had my own privacy. Also the apartments are quite nice, well lit, and with lots of mirrors... you can usually paint one of your walls as well. In general, Cranbrook was more flexible and amenable to resident lifestyles than anywhere else I have lived in Davis... plus the rent was quite reasonable. Fantastic pool, great grounds, there's always enough parking... I could really go on and on, since both the people and residents here put a lot of thought into the details, and it makes it a great place to live! I mean, look at all these great reviews -- just check it out already! read more

Without contest, the best place I've lived. From the beginning to the end of my renting experience at Cranbrook (2 years), the management & maintenance folk there were warm, welcoming, efficient, and professional: both eager & qualified to help with anything I needed. The location is excellent - on the quiet side of town (few undergrads); near a shopping area; immediate access to Community Park, where Davis's wonderful 4th of July community celebration is, and from which you can walk or bike for miles along the Greenbelt and by the huge sunflower fields at the edge of town, without ever crossing a street. Cranbrook itself is filled with extremely beautiful trees. Example of the character of the management: I wandered into the office one day to ask what kind of trees these are, and they didn't know at the time, but they went out of their way to find out and called me later to let me know. I was very touched. The facilities are excellent - bright, inexpensive laundry rooms, a small gym, a spacious but cozy study lounge with free coffee & cookies, and the best pool in Davis. The community is excellent - mostly small families and graduate students or local professionals. Quiet, friendly, safe, comfortable, diverse. And the people are excellent - Tiffany in the main office is a complete treasure of a person and helped me at every turn with everything I brought to her. Evon in maintenance is absurdly friendly, warm, and good at his job. The maintenance staff were always quick to respond to requests, didn't mind answering my questions, and (unlike other places I've lived) had a clear and absolute respect for residents' privacy. Live in Cranbrook. The rent is competitive for the area and everything else outperforms your other options by a mile. read more

Cranbrook Apts.... my first apartment, my first own room. I miss this place, I miss the college. I lived here for my first year at UCD, it is actually pretty much a typical apt complex, but the place has sentimental value since it was my first crib and because of all the good memories.. The place is quiet, next to the UNITRAns bus line with the basic amenities: washer dryer, study lounge, small-ass workout area, and a pool to cool off during the hot-ass Davis summers. My only problem with the place was with the groundskeeper, he was a moron who constantly told me to turn down th volume. I miss this place, I miss Davis I wish I never graduated.... Go AGs! *sigh* read more

My husband and I have been living at Cranbrook for almost 7 years. We absolutely love the management, and the maintenance. Both are so friendly and care alot about the residents. They truly do everything they can for their residents. Unfortunately we have outgrown out space here and will be moving but it has been a wonderful 7 years at Cranbrook. The location is also a plus, being so close to nugget market and CVS makes for a nice walk when the weather is good. The neighbors are also a mix between families and students. We have had the pleasure of having both live near us and everyone of them have been incredibly considerate and the complex stays pretty quiet for the most part. The buildings are a little on the old side but upgrades are made regularly to enhance the asthetics of the units. We will be so sad when we leave here. Thanks Krissy, Evon, and Sergio for being so amazing! read more

I lived at Cranbrook for the past 4 years. Before moving here, I jumped from apartment to apartment once my yearly leases end. But living in Cranbrook honestly felt like a community. Management was always friendly and open to communication with their residents. Maintenance had a positive outlook, were on top of their game, and provided a helping hand whenever I needed it. Cranbrook was consistent in keeping their pool area, laundry building, study lounge, and office clean and neat, as well as having an additional landscape team to take care of their yard work. The laundry room is the best I've ever come across. It's BOMB! It's large and their machines accept card as payment (convenient)! I really appreciated the architect of the apartment complex: it was open, evenly spaced out, had lots of trees, and provided plenty of natural sunlight into my apartment unit. I am truly going to miss the Cranbrook Team and everything they provided their residents. They are awesome! read more

Living at Cranbrook was a dream. The location was great, the price was fair, and the quality of life was three thumbs up (if that were possible!). You can tell that management (*Cranagement ;)*) really cares about residents by offering free events throughout the year, fresh cookies, free coffee, prompt maintenance (who leave goodies when they leave), smiling faces, and wonderful amounts of communication/updates. They are striving to make it the best it can be and are really hitting the mark. I left due to personal circumstances, but I wish I were still living there! Thanks for an amazing experience. read more

I have lived here for almost ten years and I love it. The grounds and equipment are clean, environmentally-friendly and in great condition. Cranbrook invests in its infrastructure and it shows. More importantly though, the staff really make this complex worth living in. They are always cheerful, polite, respectful and organized. The service is amazing and they make you feel part of one big family. Krissy is warm, friendly and always has a smile on her face. She really brings a personal touch to the place and works hard to organize events that foster a sense of community at Cranbrook. She does not hesitate to enforce the rules that renters agree to abide by e.g., quiet hours, making the place peaceful and strife-free. Tiffany is really friendly, polite and professional. She provides excellent service and makes it a delight to come in and pick up mail and have a quick chat etc. Evon, who maintains the apartments, always does a great job, is super respectful and cleans up after he's done with his job. I highly recommend living at Cranbrook. read more

My boyfriend and I lived here for all three years while I was in law school. Even though there were places that were closer to campus, cheaper, or newer, we stuck with Cranbrook because the management is awesome. When we first came to Davis for apartment hunting, Cranbrook was probably the fifth place we'd been to on an unbelievably hot July day. We'd never been to Davis before and didn't know what to expect, but the housing assistant, Sara S. (who sadly is no longer there), really took her time to explain the housing market in Davis, the Davis Model Lease, Tandem, the DavisWiki, etc. She wanted to make sure that we didn't get taken in, which was much appreciated. Over the years, "Cranagement" has been fantastic. They never hesitate to take matters in hand when the music downstairs is too loud, or the sketchy behavior of two questionable neighbors is too much. (And really, only two sketchy people in all the time we were there is pretty good.) They do their best to keep the pool from becoming a "public" pool (gtfo, Pinecrest). Cranagement is always immediately responsive when there is an issue with the apartment (and it was always a rare occasion), and they always very specifically ask if they have permission to enter. They were more than willing to put packages inside our apartment when they were perishable or sensitive. The leasing office, gym, clubhouse, laundry, and pool are usually well kept and very clean. We never had a rodent/pest problem, other than spiders that like to make lots of webs outside. A couple months ago, a water main broke and the whole complex didn't have water for a weekend. Cranagement and Tandem worked tirelessly with the city to fix the pipes. They brought in special bathroom and shower trailers for residents to use, which were actually pretty nice and not as awkward as it sounds. They even paid for some people's hotel rooms and laundry in the meantime. And have I mentioned the food?? They provide free coffee/tea, snacks, candy, and cookies in the leasing office. If you're lucky enough to get a hold of some of Krissy's lemonade, it's amazeballs. They also have a free Thanksgiving dinner catered every year, which is delish. This past year, they've provided PB&Js and other snacky things during finals weeks as well. We will miss this place and the superb management. Thanks for making our time in Davis so great! read more

I love Cranbrook! I lived here for 2 years and never had any problems. The place is affordable for Davis and is a great place to live. There are a few different models of home to choose from and it is at a good location in Davis: the bus stop is nearby; there is shopping less than half a mile away; and the campus is about a ten minute bike ride away. The good: Has a really really nice pool and hot tub - that pool is always clean! Nice study lounge Convenient and upgraded workout room Free parking for friends and family in the parking lot Bug/rodent free! Additionally, the maintenance crew is the best ever. We had a few minor problems over the two years (internet electrical outlet being weird, a light switch was not working, etc) and the maintenance team was always on it within a few hours. Super friendly too, one of them actually helped me fix my bike once (Evon?). Can't go wrong with Cranbrook. I really liked living here and can't toot their horns enough!!! read more

Cranbrook is by far one of the best apartment complexes in Davis! The apartments are well maintained, the grounds are kept in great shape, the pool area is fantastic, and the amenities are awesome.
