I got a same day appointment, which I was so thankful for. When I got there, however, I had to wait almost an hour post my appointment time. I was taken back, and the hygienist asked what was going on. I explained the situation and out of nowhere she said I'd need a root canal. Don't you have to look at my teeth? She took an x-ray and said the dentist would see me soon. The dentist eventually comes in, and without looking at my teeth says, "you need a root canal." He said he'd look at my teeth. He poked and prodded for a few seconds then told me to take advil and Tylenol for the pain and sent me on my way. Everyone was real nice, but it was pretty much 50 bucks wasted.

I just recently moved to Saint Cloud and needed to have my upper denture repaired. I called and scheduled an appointment and was seen in a timely manner.  I'm 93 years old,  had a hip replacement and have trouble moving around.  The x-ray machine was in a tiny room.  I struggled to get in but finally did. When brought into the exam room, the tech didn't even raise the chair knowing my daughter & son in law had mentioned my  hip replacement. When I got to the room,  the dentist was excellent and did take this time to explain the process and cost. Afterwards, we were directed to Christine who provided different options of paying and/or financing the treatment plan.  Everything was great, so far!  They charged $274 for the initial consultation and xray which I found overly expensive but paid and left the practice.  Unfortunately, not many places nearby accept Medicare insurance near my home. Due to the cost & living on a fixed income, I decided to get a 2nd opinion 1 day later from Ideal Dental in Lake Nona, they didn't  accept my insurance, either BUT only charged $35 for the consult which included the Xray. I was told to request X-rays taken at Aspen Dental at the time of my visit to avoid having X-rays again. The following morning,  I called Aspen & spoke to Alyssa who advised that I needed to complete & sign an authorization to Release Protected Health Information when my daughter has a Power of Attorney over me. My daughter completed the form and sent it back within minutes of completing it.  After calling multiple times and asking if xrays coud be picked up, NO ONE WOULD ANSWER THE PHONE OR REPLY TO THE EMAILS. This is   completely unprofessional and unacceptable with the amount of money they got paid.  I have every right to obtain a copy of my xrays.   The document they had me complete states the following:  "Patients are NOT required to complete an authorization to receive a copy of their own records".  Apparently, no one at this office read the verbiage. I'm including a copy of the form with the highlighted verbiage specifying such. The 1 star reviews are real!  Wish I would have read the reviews before wasting my money with this office!  STAY AWAY!

Money shouldn't be over a patient's integrity When I…read morearrived I was welcomed by a Latina woman--I don't mean it in a demeaning manner, I'm Latina myself, but I felt disrespected for that same reason. I came because I had the end of my permanent lower retainer detached. I wanted them to put it back. The lady started offering me a new lower removable retainer, also if I wanted a new top one, even when I said I had one. I didn't want new retainers, but I let her explain because I understand is her job. Then she started examining my teeth and pulled the retainer loose end with enough force to break the next attachment from my tooth, she wanted to take it off with her bare hands I assume, just to offer me a whole new one. I told her it came off, she said the doctor will come to see me and then they'll bring the payment plan, now they wanted to charge me for both. They said it was already loose, then said that the force she put in my teeth was part of the "evaluation". I wore braces for 4 years and that never happened to me, a doctor would never try to detach a whole chain from you teeth without any tools or warning. I came to parkway dental to fix my retainer because I moved and my orthodontist is in other country, El Salvador, to be precise, she is as professional as this people could never be, because while I was saying that paying for something that her assistant broke wasn't fair, the assistant was speaking to me in Spanish, so the others wouldn't understand what she was saying, and I wish I said this when I was there, I know she might need the money and the commission she could have earned from one more attachment or giving me a new retainer. I also work. I'm a publix cashier, but abusing others isn't the way to go, because that's how I felt, I left the place and started crying when I got to my car because this is the first time I felt this way in a clinic, so disrespectful, because they didn't see a girl that's struggling to eat, they just wanted my money, I am able to pay the $200 for both attachments, but this isn't about money, I won't put my teeth in hands of untrustworthy doctors. Now I'm writing this from home, my tongue it's irritated from the exposed wire the assistant broke, and my tooth feels sensitive, when they repeated so many times "it was like that already" it was not, I felt how they wanted to deceive me, and that's so sad because I was just looking for help, now I have two pay twice as I should have if I never been to this clinic, because I came to parkway just to worse my situation. Granted my teeth aren't the greatest, I already have a partial denture due to my front 2 teeth being removed,..and then my 2 canines also decided to to jump ship,..I needed to upgrade my denture to a more expanded version of what I already had. They refused to do the work, stating that I needed a full upper denture,...so something that wold have cost me $800 now would cost me close to $5000 after all the work. I told them, thank you but that is a big decision,..and it is also the same price as a decent used car. And that I think I may need a second opinion. I am extremely disappointed with the level of care I received during a recent emergency visit for…read morelocalized, extreme tooth sensitivity. Despite being in significant pain -specifically sensitivity to tapping, heat, cold, food, everything - this office performed a completely inadequate exam. While the office staff is lovely, the level of care was awful. They took standard 2D X-rays, which showed "nothing," and then failed to perform a basic bite-pressure test to check for cracks. Most concerningly, their advanced imaging (CBCT) was down, and they do not utilize surgical microscopes for clinical exams. If you have a complex issue or a potential "invisible" fracture, a standard X-ray is not enough. To be scheduled for an emergency diagnostic appointment when the necessary equipment is non-functional is a waste of the patient's time. I have since learned that without a CBCT (3D scan) or a microscope, they are essentially guessing. I will be taking my care to a specialist who has the technology required to actually diagnose the source of my pain and the ethics not to schedule an appointment when they don't. If you are looking for a practice that uses modern diagnostic standards for dental pain, I suggest looking elsewhere.

I arrived and a receptionist at the front counter simply said my insurance can't be accepted. I had to first call my company support service to be assigned to them before they can provide services. I asked why I wasn't told this in advance. With a dead pan expression she said she wasn't the one who made the appointment with me. It was a call center. In that whole conversation, there was no helli and welcome, and definitely no apology for letting me make a pointless trip. What a lack of empathy, service, and professionalism. One chooses a dentist not just based on the doctor, but the front office as well. Imagine treating a potential new patient so coldly. Wonder how they treat actual patients locked into their services.
