So I have had my share of positive and negative experiences with them. Some of their guys do good work, Sometime not so good. But let me give you an example of my final dealing with this company. They came out to fix a leak on my roof. And then the following week, we had a literal flood in my office. I called Mr. Ohara, and he sent someone out promptly. And he admitted he made a mistake, someone dropped a brick through my roof. He would patch the roof and make it right. Ok, I told him I had internal damage. Turns out, I took care of it all myself. I had my staff steam clean my carpeting, but I had to hire a company to replace ceiling tile and clean all my wet files. I forwarded to him a minimal bill for 730.00 that I have to pay for the damage. Mr. Ohara, in his wisdom (and likely old age) said he decided he is not going to pay for the damage, and I should hire a lawyer. Really? Doesn't he stand behind his workmanship? Apparently that has changed over the years. Its not that important to him. I trusted him for many years now, and even put up with all these new people and changes. Frankly, I talked to his staff and found out Mr. Ohara wants out of the business, and doesn't want to deal with any of this anymore. And I guess this is his way of showing it. A shame, that I will have to find a new roofing company. I thought they were more reputable than this.

His roofing installation company crew was respectful of our neighbors, finished when the contractor crew chief said they would and cleaned up after the roof job site everyday. We also get many compliments on our DaVinci Roofing Shingles, Chicago's best roof option, in my opinion. If you are looking for a new roof installation in Chicagoland, JnJ Restoration comes highly recommended! When they came back out, they said it wasn't their fault and I'd need to pay for a contractor to come out, open the wall and determine the leak. Two independent contractors identified it was because Chicago Roofing Solutions didn't properly seal the new roof to the scupper box, resulting in thousands of dollars of damage. They refuse to reimburse for the damage, actually gaslighted me saying it was my fault for bringing in a contractor and stopped responding when trying to discuss the situation. They were fine until something went wrong and then it cost me thousands for their mistake.

One of the things they did was tale the flat roof coping off to put a membrane under. It seems simple enough; coping comes off, then goes back on. This was 2/23/24 (winter in Chicago). Fast forward, I noticed moisture behind my walls in the area where they worked. I contacted them to come out, which they did on 7/23. They wouldn't bother to get on the roof to look and said, if you don't have water damage on the ceiling, it's not the roof- and they left without looking at it. You could see the coping was pushed back from the ground, not covering the entire parapet wall. I was told it was fine. A few weeks later, I started to have black mold and yellow water damage staining on my ceiling, where they removed the coping. I called again and related I have water damage on the ceiling now. They came out, and this time, they went on the roof. I again mentioned that the copings looked like they were set back further than they were, and it looked like the face brick was exposed. I was told again that it's not the roof, that everything is fine, and that I should contact a general contractor because it's not the roof. After he talked at me, giving me a bunch of stupid reasons it's not the roof, I asked him to leave. He proceeded to call my husband to see if he wanted to talk about it. Maybe if a man had pointed out the coping, he would have acknowledged it. So, I contacted two other roofers and only told them someone was out to do work. Now I have mold and water damage. BOTH of the other roofers said that the coping was NOT installed properly and was sitting too far back, allowing water to get in between the coping and the face stone. After the shit job they did, feeling disrespected as a woman, and their flat refusal to admit they made a mistake, I wouldn't even think of letting them do work on my home. I'm paying someone else $2000 to fix the coping, and then I have moldy drywall to replace and paint.

From the beginning we talked to Cathy who was extremely knowledgeable and talked to us every time we needed to make decissions and she even helped us pick out the color. If she was not available we always got a real person to talk to or had the option of visiting their office. Bob came out and could not have been more compationate to our immediate needs and addressed our problems . The crew was on time, efficient and courtious. Im not sure how anyone can not appreciate the hard work these people do replacing peoples roofs in the heat and poor weather conditions we have had. I am very happy that I do not expect to climb the ladders and the soffits are now venting the attic properly. My home now has a much better curb appeal. However, the experience was not like I had in the past. I am very disappointed. Surprise: the next day after 8:00 a sub-contractors van shows up. They are wearing shirts with another firm's name on the back. The worker has a printout with instructions and tells me there in nothing about replacing the freeze boards. The quote was based upon a sales meeting and his instructions. Based upon my past with Peterson I expected the quote was complete. Apparently, they stopped doing clear all inclusive pricing. Sloppy work and left my yard filthy with dozens of nails, aluminum piece, scrap wood insulation all over the yard and deck. I'll be looking for, and picking up the mess over the next few weeks. The use of tarps would have reduced the mess. I had a the roof replaced by Phoenix Exteriors a few weeks earlier and only found three nails near the downspouts. When I pointed out a couple of sloppy points, my home was blamed: "older house is not straight". Flashing with bubbles, and gaps where the strips tuck. The issues show up on the new "freeze boards." Not confident if the boards were put on straight. Taking advantage of elderly customers is not successful business practice. Scheduling: I had to call the office to get on the schedule. I was told Sept, 30, no one showed up. Two days later I called back and transferred to a manager. He seemed surprised and told me he would get back that afternoon. 20 days later I get a call: they are coming out the next day - 7:30 am. Lack of and poor communication is fixable. Peterson had an opportunity keep a returning customer. These issues point to a change in work ethic and can be fixed with a little effort. It's disappointing to see another local business get sloppy.
