Lydia was such a great waitress, extremely helpful with the menu and moved us to a better table!

I know it's a hard time but we had breakfast at Craft. The waitress was delightful and good service. The food, well the hash browns were like rubber and appeared to have been cooked the day before a d heated in a microwave! The bacon was greasy, not crispy! The toast was the best part. read more

Bathroom is downstairs. HOW INCONVENIENT. I can't imagine a drunk person going down and up stairs for this. Food was kinda meh and the beer was not my forte. Wine was small for amount paid. Oh well. I'm an American. read more

2.5 stars due to speed of service and food quality. Food was delayed a solid hour due to a kitchen/order problem but there was no apology, let alone comped food. When the food finally came out, it was only alright - especially for the price. Do have to mention that the beer selection and staff knowledge about it deserves a 4-4.5 stars. They were very good about finding the right beer for everyone at the table. read more

I honestly do like this place, but you have to sort the music!!! The space is great, food is good and its good for everyone; families, adults young & old. However, the music is so loud and I have honestly seen families leave. The place sounds like a night club, just turn it down a bit and mix it up. read more

Came here with my staff after work for some team bonding time. Perfect timing as it was happy hour! $5 dollar beers and $9 appies except for nachos. Ordered some chicken wings, maui ribs, tacos, and beef sliders to share. Food was delicious, beer was very satisfying! However, portions were small so we had to double up on our orders. Nice facility and great service to boot! Will definitely come back again! read more

This is a great place with a great beer selection but having bad service ruins it. Being a former bartender/server and manager for years, I know the importance of faking a smile even when you're having a bad day. Our waitress was flat out rude and it was obvious she did not want to serve our table or anyone for that matter. Being from the industry, I know certain tables can be very trying on your patience, but we weren't needy, obnoxious or demanding in any way. This was the first time I had ever considered asking for a manager because I'm very understanding when it comes to the industry. After talking rude to my friends, never cracking a smile, rarely coming to refresh our drinks or bus the table, I had to yelp it. WORST SERVICE EVER!!! read more

DO NOT get the blue cheese burger. YUK! Bitter, horseradish-y with lots of aftertaste. But great atmosphere. Friendly service. Impressive interior. Other burgers look good.... But fish tacos are bland. Veggie burger with quinoa patty, good idea, but also bland. Beer selection is awesome. read more

We really liked it here! The decor is awesome, and I loved how open it was. The beer list was crazy long and was perfect for this incredibly picky occasional beer drinker. We had the wings special with the Miso BBQ sauce. My husband was crazy about them. I had the Mediterranean power salad. The dates in the salad added a perfect sweetness to the sour vinaigrette. Finished off the meal with dessert in a jar. Great night! read more

I came. Needed a drink. They said there's a good place where they had the Olympics. So I said let's go. And when I arrive with with my bretheren, we were greeted by wondrous beers on tap and some sort of Canadian whiskey. It tastes like maple syrup. If I'm back up north, ey, I will come back read more

Awesome atmosphere. Food was very good and prices are great. Beer choices are almost overwhelming; this makes picking the "flight" of beer easier as I get to try 6 of them at once! I was there with large party on a NUCK game night so place was packed but the shear size of the inside makes it still feel more intimate. Unfortunately the place loses two stars on the service. The server we had looks like she was still hung over from the night before and she acted like it. Not sure if she had teeth cause she didn't smile once during the 2-3 hrs we were there eating and drinking. Miserable. Turned the whole group off. If like to give it another shot just for the ambiance and view and try some different food. Fingers crossed that I get a good server!!! read more

CRAFT - Whole place is on piles! Pretty cool. MUST visit the washroom. - Beer Bar Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Beer: 4.0 stars Food: 2.5 stars Firstly, this place has a line, a very long one. Be prepared to wait for up to an hour or more if you're here for dinner on a weekend. You will be given a thing (what's that call?) that vibrates and beep whenever it's your turn to be seated. The beer selection is large and definitely worth getting trashed trying out as many as possible. The downside is that there isn't many choices when it comes to food. You will noticed many pipes running up and around the ceiling. Apparently, the pipelines carry the beer from the keg or barrel, all the way to the tap at the bar. You also should to take a walk to the toilet because that's where you'll get to see more beer kegs and barrels storage downstairs. All in all, a great place for beer sampling but do have a heavy meal first before entering. read more

Good beer and carb dishes typical of any pub. Fast food sushi was outstanding. Veggie platter was served with three day old dried out veggies and bacon maple wings were flavourless. The sever was good and changed out the veg with new veg, however they just poured water over the same veggies in the bin and served it to us again. Pancakes came with seasonal fruit that was sub par. Overall the atmosphere was good and the server took the veggie platter off out bill and gave us a free app. read more

Pretty much 99% of the time this place is a miss. One time, they served us dried out wings. Second time, they served us with broken water glass. Third time, we were told an item is the special of the day. Until we received our bill. And server doesn't do anything about it. Just blink. Fourth time, my friend was trying to make reservation for a large group. Doesn't hear back for a month. Turns out the person she talked to went on a vacation. How nice. I didn't keep return by choice. Only two times did me and the boyfriend gave them a go, but mostly it was different group of our friends wanting to meet up at the craft. But from now on I will vocally oppose. If you go for just a pint, just one darn pint, it will be ok I suppose. But keep in mind pretty much everything is over priced. Even the beer. Also food in comparison to the price, portion is extremely small. In the heaven of craft beer, Vancouver, try somewhere else. read more

Food was overprice for what you get. Ok tasting only, good pub food but not great pub food. Surgery Drinks are very expensive about 6.50. Deep fried wings 14.50 unless before 6 pm for $9. Pasta dishes were more expensive and quantity is about 1/2 the amount you would expect. Pasta is a cheap ingredient, then why so little given? A large barn with high ceilings. Good walks to be had close by. What's there not to like in Olympic Village? Good place to sit and watch people with lots of background noise. Lots of tourists stop by here. Pleasant atmosphere. For two is $50 with a beer each. read more

Terrible customer service by management. We made a reservation over a week in advance for a large group to celebrate 2 birthdays. The day of our reservation the manager called to say they'd double booked and our reservation was now void; if we wanted we could arrive an hour early and wait in line to "maybe" get a table. Now it is too late to find a new venue (Vancouver on a Saturday night) let alone inform all the attendees of a venue change. Absolutely ridiculous for a manager to not offer a better solution or any compensation for their mistake. I used to love this place but now....I'm not sure I'll ever go back. Very disappointing. read more

Food: 6/10 service: 2/10 beer: 9/10 Overall, not a pleasant experience at all. We came in around 9:25 pm. Started from the moment we walked in. We placed our name down, the host told us about a 10 min wait. We waited, but during the time another group of four came in, they were seated immediately. Which was odd since their supposed policy was reservations are only for groups of 8 or more. The host did apologize for the wait and told me it was because the restaurant was 'turning over''. This was fine, was not upset. Then we were seated, the server came by. Granted the restaurant seemed busy but this was our first time here and we had questions about the drink menu. He seemed extremely hurried and unwilling to help us. He basically told us to get the flight which was what we initially wanted. We ordered our food, and when it came out it looked great but there were no utensils. We asked another server if we could possibly get some and she nodded but never came back. We needed to ask another server, and the second server chuckled "oh yeah didn't see that" and proceeded to grab them. At this point My group was already annoyed. There portion price wasn't inexpensive so we assumed service was suppose to be better but clearly not. We ordered entrees to be shared, so when they came out, we asked for small plates. Again the server just nodded and came back with one. But she just placed it on the table and left before we could ask for three more. So we waved another server down, and asked for three more. She said she will be back and came back with one. At this point, we had to ask AGAIN for another two plates and she still brought back one. So in total we had to wave down 4 different servers to just get us basic diner needs. The food was fine, we had the Kale Caesar. The 'croutons' not good basically a stale piece of bland bread. Pasta Bolognese was fine as is the mac and cheese. Truly enjoyed the flight of local beers. But at this rate I will not want to recommend this place to anyone or even revisit this place. The beer alone was not enough to save this place. As our final night here in Vancouver, it was a huge regret to spend it on this place. Save time and visit somewhere else such as the Alibi Room in gas town. Better service and better selections. read more

Review is for this particular evening. I can imagine in a venue so large, it may be hard to maintain consistent quality control in both food and service. Went on a Sat evening around 8:30 for drinks and appies. I'm not a fan of beer but our group loves it so we came here. I was introduced to a strawberry beer....Whaaat?! Delicioussssss!! The salt and pepper wings were so tasty: not too salty nor peppery, offered me both ranch and blue cheese dressing, both generously-sized wings and quantity of them...well done. We had the round table on the patio which was perfect for us. It kept us cool as it was a hot day, and allowed us to socialize and chat as we could better hear each other outside. Inside, the music was a tad thumpy. I hear the Mother's Day and Father's Day brunches are good, so we may try that next time. read more

This is only for their over priced yet crappy food. It was bad but not THIS bad a few months ago. Did something happened? A group of us went there the other night we tasted each other's food from burgers to shrimp curry to tacos, and they were all really not much at all but not much flavour or too much flavour or not juicy but dry or tiny portion for alll cheap vegetables etc. Not going there any more. read more

Went to the Craft twice...both times not super impressed. Last time I went they wouldn't give us a table at the bar even though there were many un-used tables around the bar. Their reason a shortage of staff. There was a wait list for a regular table also, but I don't understand why they would seat people at the bar tables that were a foot or two away from the bar and the bar stools? It's not that much further to walk to. Our server was nice, but you could tell she was a bit tired or over worked. We order drinks and food, but no follow up on our food or drinks once they came. I wanted hot sauce and another drink, but it took a long time to get our server's attention. We talked to a manager only because the server told her we were not too happy and see comped our drinks. I was not looking for anything for free, but still nice that they did that. I just wanted them to know about the lack of service. One thing that I've noticed about these "trendy" "gimmicky" restaurants like Craft beer, Earls, Cactus Club, etc, is their demographic of servers and floor staff aged 19-25 years old and good looking. Then these restaurants complain they can't find enough staff which is not the customers fault. My suggestion is open up your demographic to include older people, different sex, different ethnicities and people with different body types. I'm sure there's lots of people looking for work if you give them a chance. read more

Ok, this is one of my favorite places to go for drinks and grab quick bites with my friends late at night. First of all the inside of this place is absolutely gorgeous on summer days/nights! They have excellent lighting because of the wooden building and wide windows, and also a cute patio to sit outside for warm evenings. I love how spacious the restaurant actually is too. For a girl like me who constantly gets overwhelmed and a bit claustrophobic in smaller and enclosed areas, this place makes me feel comfortable and at home. My favorite drink to order here? Hard to say. I always like to order their local rotating flights, as they always change weekly. They have so many amazing craft beers on tap, averaging from pale ales to strong IPAs, which are my absolute favorites. This restaurant is one of those places where sitting at the bar is actually more fun, and a better experience than sitting at a table. This is because at the bar, the counter space is huge. The seats are comfy and the bartenders are amazingly friendly and superb! My friends and i come here often and our favorite bar tender guy's name is Tom! He's AMAZING! Extremely funny, friendly, talkative and very knowledgeable and helpful to everything they have on the menu! And did i say he was funny?? He kept us all entertained and laughing and pretty much made our entire experience fabulous. My friends and i love ordering the fish tacos and the little mini pizzas, or even fries. The fish tacos WITH avocado are a must try by the way! Overall I would definitely recommend this place if you're a beer fan with an appetite. I always get a sense of a fun, warm vibe when I'm here because of the friendly environment, so 11/10 would recommend!! read more

The food here was ok. The service was horrible. I want to clarify that it was just our server because the young lady who seated us was very pleasant. Our server should look for a different line of work. She did not seem interested in serving us. After the initial order she never came back to check on us. No refills no how is everything no nothing. We had to ask a different waitress to track her down and she did. Even then she went in a different direction and never came back. The other waitress who had told her we were waiting noticed this and went and told her again. We had to wait an ungodly amount of time for the bill and to go boxes and the pie we ordered. We finally all got up and started to head out towards her and she said sorry I forgot. I am a very generous tipper and I ensured the second waitress who tried to take care of us got a generous tip. This was a very bad experience. There are too many draft beer spots out there to waste your time at this place. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

Beer selection is amazing! Not sure I like the idea that you can't choose your own flight. I think I would address that if I was management. I also thing the bar area is too large for just one or two people. It might have been the time of day I was there, but I only saw the bartender who helped me when I sat down twice. Fish tacos were good, the pre picked flights were just so so. Would've loved to be able to pick my own read more

I loved this place. It has over 100 beers on tap? Wat. We drank for several hours, trying all kinds of new beers, and the waitstaff were awesome the whole time. It was moderately busy, but we never really had to wait. We both got steak sandwiches, which were much fancier than we'd expected, and the food was great, too! I wish I lived closer to this place. read more

Great for a brew but terrible for a burger! Just got back from lunch and this was the worst burger ever. Dry, burnt, over cooked and tasteless, like eating a lump of cardboard. If the beer attracts, then the food should at least stand up to some credibility. Drink....do not eat. read more

I freaking LOVE The Craft! Everytime a friend from out of town comes to visit, I always bring them here! With over 100 beers on tap, it's hard to know what to get, but if you ask a server, they'll more than likely recommend something for you, but first ask questions about your beer preference so that they get the perfect drink for you into your hands. If you're really lost, try getting their flight! It's six 4oz beers, and changes weekly! You can get either the local or international, but both are usually quite good. They run for $12, but only $9 on Mondays! Also, on Mondays, appies are half off! A great place to go, awesome environment, decent prices and tons of GREAT beer and drinks! read more

After my one and only experience at CRAFT Beer Market, I don't ever plan to take my business there again. I knew I was going to have a large group of people attending (approx 15-20ppl) so I wanted to do the best I could to make the whole experience as seamless as possible for both my party and the restaurant. After calling two weeks in advance and being told that they accept reservations, I called back a few days later to make a reservation for 15 people. The answer I got was "Unfortunately, we only take a total of 25 reservation spots for the whole restaurant and we already have 18 spots reserved, so you can only make a reservation 7 people." She proceeds to inform me that I can come in early (she suggests around 430pm) on the day and my party should be accommodated, hopefully before the evening rush begins. I thanked her for her help and hung up. While surfing through their website, I noticed it said to email them if you would like to make reservations for a group of more than 20 people. I emailed them explaining that I never was told about the limited reservation spots and asked if there was anything they could do, especially since my numbers could rise as I waiting for more replies; even a later reservation time would be just fine. The event coordinator continues to tell me the same thing the girl on the phone tells me...to try coming in early and putting my name on the list. On the day of, my sister arrives at 4:35pm to put our names on the list for a table of 19 people. The hostess says "Sorry, but we can only takes parties of 8-13 people." My sister explains that we were told MULTIPLE times that we could wait on a first-come first-serve basis. I arrive 5mins later, and my sister is being told by the manager that they only take parties up to 13 people, but they have two large tables that we can have right at that moment. My whole party had not arrived yet as I told them to aim for 5:00 - 5:15pm since I would just be putting our names on the list and could not give them an exact time we'd get a table. We are seated and the server asks me how many people we are expecting...I said 19. She looks at me in shock, and first thing she says to me "Oh. You were told about the automatic gratuity right?" (Yes...don't worry, you'll get your tips.) I have a COMPLETE understanding that large parties are sometimes are hard to maintain but I have never received this comment before...she says "Okay, I will do my best to keep track of the orders, but if people move around and change seats, just so you know, there's only so much I can do." Wow. Thank you for the disclaimer that you might give unacceptable service. What other great services will my automatic gratuity be paying for? Moving on...I filled the first table with guests, and finally had two people seated at the second table, after about 25mins. Another manager approaches the table and now tells me that in order to keep the second table I have to have ALL 16 guests filling the seats of the table (I keep learning something NEW every time we get approached) ...and because there was only two, they will be removing the second table from me. Obviously, I had to explain the situation AGAIN...but to no avail. So my two guests are asked to gather their things and leave the table as two chairs are pulled over to the first table and squished onto two corners at the end. After sitting for 5mins not knowing what to do with the other half of the party when they arrive, we opt to leave CRAFT and take our business to Sin Bin. Which, ended up being a fantastic idea as the service there was fantastic, and the wonderful server received all our gracious gratuity for all of the personable attentive service she provided. I'd also like to note that Tap & Barrel were also willing to accommodate the large party last minute. All in all, I do understand that as a new and popular business, making money is extremely important, especially on a Saturday evening. However, my issue was the fact that I was CONSTANTLY being told something different by every single person. And as the on-shift managers, they were never really truly listening to me because if they were, they would be hearing that it was their employees that were giving incorrect information (emails to back this up). Two of their employees told me to come at 4:30pm to put my name down on the list...and somehow I, and my party, were the one's inconvenienced. Other than being given a slightly longer "hold" time on our tables and the waived automatic gratuity (because we "just ordered drinks" - as told to me by the server) we were in no way accommodated whatsoever. Not even for a future visit. The restaurant and its employees did nothing beyond its means to try and rectify the situation...they just kept making it worse. Although lengthy, I hope this review helps some people think twice if they want to take their business to this money-hungry company again. My advice: Quality over quantity. read more

I went to CRAFT Beer Market for about the 5th time last night, this time I brought along my parents who were in town visiting from Portugal. To say the least, my parents are older and extremely set in their ways; however, I was hopeful that they would LOVE this place as much as I do! Right off the bat, our server, Carly, greeted us with a warm and welcoming smile; not only was she extremely friendly and great at her job, but she seemed to know each beer as well as the food menu like the back of her hand (which is more than I can say for many other restaurants where it is apparent that the server training is slim to none). She began by asking my mother about which flavour profiles she preferred in a beer (as she was a little overwhelmed with the amount of options available to her), then without even having to ask, Carly brought over about 6 different samples for my parents to taste; she even gave us a little bit of information about each beer! My parents were absolutely blown away, and they both ended up going with (and LOVING) a strong Belgian ale (Delirium Tremens), which I am sure they would have never known about had it not been for the amazing staff taking that little bit of extra time in order to ensure that our experience at CRAFT was a great one. The food was also fantastic: we started with a great charcuterie and cheese board, which also impressed my parents very much, as this is usually only an accompaniment to beer in Europe (my mother kept saying that CRAFT reminded her of home). Before we left, Carly was even able to talk a bit of World Cup Soccer with my father, and my mother gave her a hug goodbye. They are moving here in the fall, and I know for sure they will be back!!! Overall, this was probably the best experience I have had at CRAFT to date. The food was fresh, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was SPOTLESS. You can really tell that the owners/ general managers/ staff were not kidding when they said that the health, safety and wellbeing of their guests was of the upmost importance to them. I cannot help but to respect CRAFT Beer Market for doing the right thing and taking the high road with recent ordeals, as hard as it must be. My only wish is for the fools (aka Derek L below for example) to simply educate themselves on what exactly the Norovirus is, so that they will understand that this has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with food preparation. It saddens me to witness how many people are simply content with displaying their mental incapacity for all the whole world to see. These things are not uncommon, especially in places of this size; and please don't forget that restaurants hire late night cleaning staff to clean after hours, so jumping to the conclusion that the management/ staff at CRAFT are completely at fault for this is a complete inaccuracy in my opinion. You can tell that there is a real level of pride at CRAFT, and I am sure that they are taking all necessary steps to ensure that no patron will ever fall ill on their clock again. I have been a medical practitioner for many years now, and I know that most restaurants simply choose to deny any responsibility in cases like this, let alone go to the measures that CRAFT Beer Market has. This was my first time at CRAFT since the day closer last week, and you can see that without a doubt these people are taking this issue extremely seriously. Let's not forget how much good this place does for the city too.... not only do they support local small businesses, local farmers, local breweries, the Ocean Wise project (Vancouver Aquarium -to ensure that no species is ever out-fished), but they even support the Ronald McDonald House by personally cooking home-made meals for the families and children having to stay there, dealing with REAL problems.. Not only that, but the staff at CRAFT are even helping set up the brand new Ronald McDonald House later next month. I was in Calgary last year during the floods, and while everyone else was throwing food away, the staff at CRAFT decided to cook all the food and throw a free bbq for anyone who was in need of a hot meal. These people are compassionate and are good at what they do.... it's nice to see a restaurant actually giving back for once. If I may make one suggestion to the public: if you don't like an establishment, simply don't go. Running home to your laptop only to write a nasty, uneducated review says more about you than it does the establishment itself. It just means that there will be more great food and beer for those of us who favourite this place!!!! Dr. A. Ronaldo, MD read more

This place has a dope beer selection, maybe a little too much, I like more boutique ish brewery's with a limited selection, too many choices are sometimes overwhelming. Staff are helpfully the place is GIANT inside so i feel you have to get their attention a lot to wait on you. Anyway food is where this place gets knocked off 2 stars. It's simply average. I've been here twice, once as a drop in and once hosting a big event. I would definitely recommend coming for drop in as the staff are friendly and the food is great and the beer/drinks are phenomenal. For drop in I would give them 5 stars in a heartbeat However, they lose stars in the party planning aspect. With their restaurant being so large, it is a popular place to host massive parties. I would suggest staying away from booking a large party with them (8+) people. Over the past month and a half I played telephone tag with their events coordinator and front of house staff. It took 2 weeks for them to get back to me because there was a lack of communication between their junior staff and senior staff, and on the day of my event there was major miscommunication between the staff, and my reservation was not only reduced without my knowledge but my room was given away. Despite being able to rectify the situation, there was no apology given whatsoever by the manager for the discrepancy and confusion, which I didn't appreciate. Thankfully, our server was incredible. So: - food and drinks are good - servers are good, service is relatively quick - fun atmosphere BUT: - booking a large party is a challenge. Make sure you have clear communication! read more
