Almost a year after they opened, I've finally gone to check this place out. I've heard so many great things about it and I was really looking forward to it. I loved the massive selection of beer and being able to see them all in the centre of the room. Being an indecisive person, that only made the decision even worse! I ordered the TLT which is a sandwich with seared tuna, pea shoots, tomato, cucumber and togorashi aioli. I loved the aioli. It gave the sandwich the perfect kick. The sauce and vegetables made the bread a little soggy though. The portions are huge and the sandwich came with your choice of side. I really enjoyed my sandwich and would definitely order it again. The open space and high ceilings made for great atmosphere. It's actually bigger than you think. For a Friday evening, we managed to snag a table without having to wait. Service was friendly and not rushed. I'll be back to try out their other offerings. read more

Craft beer is located in a beautiful space but that is it. Food was bland (boring fish tacos, overdone fries). The beer list was confusing and then under filled (a complaint I've heard from other reviewers). There are actually too many beers on tap here. I prefer Tap and Barrel across the road. read more

Awesome venue, huge space with a variety of seating. Flat screen's everywhere, great to catch the game. Cool bar, plenty of nice & new bathrooms, friendly service. Beer. Lots and lots of beer. It's probably over-priced beer, but you're paying for the venue & service. Apparently they rotate the selection for their flights of beer, so it's fun to be able to find a new favourite. The food is better than Tap & Barrel (which is terrible for food) but it's not much to write home about. $8 appies on Sunday was a pretty good deal. I like the Fast Food Sushi - a bacon wrapped burger with cheese. Hard to go wrong with bacon, I guess. The poutine comes in a big skillet - it looked better the second time I was there, the first time it was kind of dry without much gravy. The nachos are overpriced and deceptively small. It comes spread out on a huge flat platter, there's no depth to it. I wouldn't be happy paying $10 for it, and it's priced at $18 - ouch! Expect an hour or so wait on weekend nights - I've been told their buzzers have an amazingly long range, you can walk to the bridge and it'll still go off. read more

This summer I had to drop by CRAFT Beer Market again with a couple of friends to check out their patio. But when we visited, it was extremely busy, so we couldn't get a patio seating, so we were brought to the side instead. But I will try to visit again JUST to drink on the patio. This time I ordered the Drink What Locals Drink for the Beer Sampler. The following drinks were featured these two weeks: Parallel 49 Nitrogen Line Russel A Wee Angry Scotch Ale Deep Cove Loud Mouth Pale Ale Parallel 49 Gypsy Tears Russel Hop Therapy IPA I loved them all, especially he Gypsy Tears, since it is such a hoppy beer and it is always the one I order when I go to bars. It is my stable for beer on a good night. My friends ordered a FastFood Sushi, which is meat, meat and TONS of meat wrapped in bacon and served on top of BBQ sauce and some light horseradish mayo. I should have taken a bite, but at that moment in the night, I didn't want any. I myself ordered the Halibut fish tacos for my entree of the night. I had to order 4 or I wouldn't be full by the end of the night. The tacos were light and very refreshing. There was a side sauce of housemade Siracha. They made it spicy to the point where it was perfect! I called it Asian medium spicy, which was surprising to me since I LOVE spicy foods. I love the atmosphere of the place since it was HUGE, and it would take SO MANY people, and I love coming here all the time, especially since I have large group of friends for beer and a great time. Will come back again this summer with another group of close friends for a good time! Next time, I want to try their patio!! Only thing is that it reminded me of a typical Cactus Club, since children are allowed to go into the "restaurant" now, and it is not considered a "bar" anymore. SIGH. That is fine though... I think? read more

I'll keep this short in sweet. Don't come here for the food. The menu is basically everything. Let's add some Asian food and don't forget some pasta dishes. Healthy salads, done. Overpriced burgers? Sure, why not. Oh, let's not forget to add some comfort food just because. Came here for a birthday party. The service was good but the food was definitely a disappointment. My friend has the mac and cheese and I think they skipped the cheese and decided to put in several large chunks of bell peppers. No thanks. I had the ahi tuna sandwich, which wasn't bad, but the bread was so difficult to chew, I think it left the roof of my mouth raw. The sauce was it's saving grace for sure. My boyfriend had a very sad poutine - 4-5 large cheese curds and minimal amounts of gravy. With an awesome interior, I expected the food to be better. Well, now we know to stick to the drinks. read more

The venue location and everything about it is top notch. The beer selection is quite extensive and servers are generally pretty knowledgeable about their products. The beer flight choices are pre-selected and I would argue not the best choices. I feel they definitely play favourites with the local beer flight choices. The food Nachos. Looks impressive on a steel barrel but mediocre in taste. There is nothing special to their nachos that I couldn't get from any other pub. The 20 napkin burger. They give you 20 napkins. The napkins are small....of course you need 20. The actual burger has a mini burger on top which is quite novel. The patty is bland. The bacon, cheese and brisket somehow fails to help enhance the taste of this guy. I actually can't explain how they screwed this up. I'll assume maybe the chef had a bad day or something because we ordered 2 and nobody thought this thing was by any means satisfactory. Poutine was mehh... My friend enjoyed his Mac and cheese. This is an impressive venue to have a great time with lots of drink variety. But to wait over an hour and half for seating to eat something sub-par is absolutely punishing. I'm impressed by the drink selection and venue but unimpressed by the food and wait time. I would go back for the beer selection, but eat a subway next door. read more

I had the best birthday party last night at the craft. All of the staff was so accommodating and so friendly. We were a very large party of people and everyone was messaging me this morning saying that they had an absolutely fabulous time. Special thanks to Kirk. Great spot with Great views! Food recs: - Poutine with shredded beef 8/10 - Mussels in coconut curry 8/10 - i wish it was a little spicy. there was zero spice in it. - ahi poke 7/10 - its okay, but i probably wouldn't order it the next time. - chicken wings 9/10 - had it with salt and pepper, with bacon maple on the side. SO FREAKIN GOOD. - the "Locals Only" beer sampler was great. def worth the 11 bucks! Parking is usually a lil tricky to find. you might have to park across the street in the neighborhoods around 7th street. Service was great. A++++ Restrooms were super clean. Enjoy! read more

Saw this reviewed by another website and made a mental note to check it out. Did not dissapoint! A large beer and drink selection, great food, fun atmosphere and even my 10 yr old had a blast! I'd definitely come back! read more

CRAFT - Beer Bar Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

It's a nice place. The food is good, and in general with a fair price. If you like drinking beers, great option, they have a LOT of options for you to choose. The staff is extremely friendly and the food doesn't take long at all to come to your table. Good place to go for a party with a lot of people. If you like a quiet restaurant, think twice. It is a 500 seat busy restaurant, which makes it look like a big party always (in a good way). Might be good to call and make a reservation before going during the weekends. It is also a beautiful restaurant! You will also find different types of food, going from tacos to italian pasta, from burgers to pizza. Another good thing: i would say 90% of the products are housemade and super fresh! If you are in Vancouver you should definitely try it out! read more

Craft has turned out to be one of my favorite spots to visit this summer and I see it continuing this way well into the fall and winter. Have been here about 4-5 times in the last two months. I am a huge beer lover and Craft has only increased my love and appreciation for beer. They have over 100 beers on tap and I don't think I will ever be able to try all of them due to the fact that I have slowly developed some favorites that I can only get at Craft. So every time I come to Craft, I have to start with my favorites and the list seems to grow each time I visit. Craft does a very good job of categorizing each of their beers to help customers navigate the 100+ selection. If in doubt, ask your server for a recommendation. They have yet to steer me wrong. Talked to a few servers there and seems like Craft has a pretty deep training program and most servers seemed to have tried all the beers on offer. This really shines through when they are making recommendations. I recommend starting with the Konig Ludwig, a very light a refreshing Wheat Beer with just the right amount of bite. It will wet your pallet and get you in good position for the next few rounds. Next I would move on to the Fat Tug, a locally brewed pale ale that is has a more full bodied and rich hop flavour. The food was pretty good, a cut above standard pub food but let's face it, the food is not the main reason I come here. Prices can run quite high for some of the beers, but they have pretty good daily specials, so take advantage of those to help save yourself a few dollars. Great service, great beers, great environment. A local favorite. read more

I've come to Craft a few times now, both times with pretty good experiences. There are a ton of tables and seats which means you're bound to be seated on any given night. The beer options are amazing! There are so many to choose from, and the menu is divided up by beer type, for those who are not as familiar with the options. The downside to Craft is the pricey food menu. I recall coming here my first time and enjoying a nacho platter with some friends. The portion was huge, however we ordered extra sour cream which we were charged for without notice... Other small meals are over priced, and for the average quality they display, I wouldn't eat here again. Come for a drink or two, but try and eat elsewhere. Main street IS just around the corner! read more

I try to avoid coming here unless I absolutely have to. Their only saving grace is their location and the large selection of beer. Service is slow, food is subpar and overpriced. We ordered a barrel of nachos, expecting that for $23 we would get a decent amount of nachos but the "barrel" looks deceivingly large and only fits a small amount of food because of the raised bottom. We split it between 5 of us as an appetizer before our full meals and only got a couple of chips each. We all commented that we wouldn't have ordered it at all if we'd known it would be so small, considering it doesn't cost much at all for them to make the portion sizes larger for a shareable chip dish. It's really too bad, I was so excited about this place when they first opened up and hoped that they would work out the kinks in their service but it's been a consistent issue. They need to either hire more servers or change it to more of a self-serve system like a lot of breweries follow, maybe using buzzers to tell you when your food is ready. read more

I am so disappointed in myself that it took me this long to come here. I should have been at Craft on opening night. Lately, I have become such a beer snob and this place satisfies all my beer cravings. If you are looking for an awesome atmosphere, great good and exceptional beer for an affordable price, this is the place. Furthermore, the staff is very attentive. If you love your beer, it is a must. In fact, GO RIGHT NOW! read more

I have been meaning to check this place out for quite some time and I finally got to it. Ended up going in for beers and snacks on a nice sunny day. Great atmosphere; we really liked the decor and layout. We all tried the beer samplers, and most of us preferred the world sampler to the local sampler. The beers in the world sampler seemed to be on the lighter side (perfect for a hot, sunny day) and more varied, while the local one had more dark beers. We ordered a plate of nachos and the lobster salsa for the table. The nachos were excellent, and a good size for sharing amongst 4 people. The lobster salsa was quite lackluster, with very little lobster or salsa and it seemed like they used prawns and large chunks of avocado to fill out the rest of the dish. It didn't hold together and the whole dish just didn't seem to jive. This is a dish that we were quite excited to try, and it just didn't deliver. We definitely intend to go back and try some of the other dishes. This place was very kid-friendly, had a great vibe/atmosphere, and the service was also on-point. read more

Gluten free beer available on tap and gluten free flatbreads so you have options if you need them. One of the best beer selections in Vancouver. Come here for the beer, sports and eye candy...not the food.... I've tried the tacos, flatbread and a handful of their burgers...I feel like I'm always disappointed with my food but the delicious beer makes up for it. The burgers are average so I would rather spend my money on beer than food. The prosciutto arugula flat bread was so salty I basically drank an entire pitcher of water to myself. The tacos were really REALLY dry...not sure how they cook the fish and how old the tortilla was, you'll know something is off from the very first bite. If I had to eat dinner there again, I would default to the burgers bc they are the most filling. One thing to note about the gluten free beer, the raspberry beer has a very bitter after taste. read more

Craft used to be my go-to restaurant. The butternut squash pasta dish and the ciabatta chicken sandwich is to die for. Don't even get me started on the sweet potato fries. These guys have fantastic food and the ambiance is what really makes the place. Massively high ceilings, great music, TVs around the bar but not encroaching on the separate dining. This place has multiple pluses for almost everything. The only thing about Craft is that the service has really gone downhill. I first started going regularly in March of 2016 and the service was fantastic whether I was at the bar or at a separate table. I noticed around April-May of this year (2017) that I wasn't seeing the same bartenders or servers, sometimes within the same month someone new would be there and then not. The last time I went my friend and I were ignored at the bar for a lot of the night which had never happened before (I mean it's a bar, it's kind of hard to miss people) I have gone back once since for the weekend brunch which was a little bit better sitting at a separate table but it was really disappointing to see this place go that way since it was somewhere I frequented weekly with friends. Either way, if you're looking for great food and a relaxing atmosphere than definitely check it out! Just be careful if its too busy you may have a bit of a wait. read more

Took 4 friends here last Friday; all beer flights & 2 beer pints were flat; returned to be replaced but took forever to get a drink. Lovely building but no personality & most of all you can be assured there is no such thing as personalized service. Ordered a Nachos platter that was a pile of chips with minimal toppings, a sliver of dipping sauce and not layered. A true waste of money and a real rip off. Asked another server for some sauce and oh my God! she was visibly annoyed. We saw mice on the patio and it was unbelievable but I understand that Vancouver has this issue everywhere. I support local and I think this place needs to focus on a limited menu of fantastic beer instead of pushing 100 mostly flat beers. The owners need to realize that they are receiving guests who are mostly local and Do deserve better hospitality, better food and better beer. read more

Have been there twice and yes they just opened and are still working out the kinks but I have to say the food is a tremendous step up from the dregs they serve across the street at tap and barrel. The food is good and great for a place to grab a bite after work or on a weekend. I highly recommend this over any other place in the village. read more

This Place is a pretty cool room and has a huge selection of Craft Beer, but that`s about it. The price of pints is way too expensive. I understand if you are paying for an expensive, imported beer... but $7.50 for a regular domestic Pint. Come on Guys!! Food was expensive too and wasn`t anything to write home about. read more

You have to wait for quite a long time for a table depending when you go, but this place is a must for beer lovers. I'm definitely not a beer fan, but had the most amazing strawberry beer I ever had in my life when I went. The food is pretty good though, although the beers are definitely what makes the place stand out, and the atmosphere is very fun and laid back. read more

Well, it's official. Here is my first ever sap story review on Yelp (maybe second, who's really counting?) Surprisingly, (because I've totally CHANGED as a person now) this was the first place I had ever sat at the bar in a pub or restaurant by myself. I was nervous at first, as I had just been scouting the area for a walk after some essay writing at a nearby coffee shop - but I was intrigued by the beauty of this place outside. As soon as I walked in, the front of house staff greeted me warmly, welcoming me. When contemplating whether I wanted to sit at a table by myself or at the bar, they reassured me sitting at a bar on your own is an experience worthwhile, but let me come to my own decision. I went with it. They were right. The high wooden panelled ceilings, the musty, invigorating smell of beer in the air, and the countless beers on tap amazed me all at once. The prices - reasonable. The service - extraordinary. Not to mention their outdoor patio seating is exquisite with a breathtaking view of the water. Can't wait to come back. Thanks for the milestone experience, Craft. read more

It's probably one of the biggest bar/pub/restaurants in Vancouver. The wait is so long. You need to come right at opening or near closing if you don't want to wait. Otherwise, you're looking at 45min to 2hour wait. Sadly, Tap & Barrel is generally full too, so there aren't very many indoor places to hang out in the immediate area. Prices are a bit steep, about Yaletown/Gastown levels. I guess if you're rich enough to come to this kind of place, you're not worried about spending $9 a beer. read more

Craft is one of my go-to places for Happy Hour. Every weekday has a special going on, today is the Wings Wednesday after 3pm for $8 and BC beers for $5. I am sports fan and enjoy the after work beers, so Craft is a natural fit. I been to both the original Calgary and Edmonton Craft establishments and was eagerly anticipating the opening of the Vancouver Craft Beer which is now 2 years old. Extensive beer menu on tap, and the layout sure shows it off. The open patio has a nice view of false creek and servers are all attentive. Food menu selection is nothing outstanding, but decent for bar food. read more

I was really excited to try this place because they have like, a million beers on tap. Finally tried it and I'm not a fan. Cool interior but everything is way too pricey and the food sucks. There's almost too many beers to choose from, I didn't know where to start. They also don't have a real patio - just a covered area at the back. I'll stick with Tap and Barrel. read more

In a nutshell: 5/5 for the atmosphere and the place, what an amazing set up! The place was almost full for a Monday night but still great vibe and not too loud! 5/5 for the beer selection, one of the most extended I've ever seen in the country! 2/5 for the food: great tuna appetizer but so so nachos (the quantity is there, enough to share for 4-5 people or so) but they need to load up more in cheese and other condiments), and without chicken or guac it was already at 20$! The fish tacos were not the best either: the tiny pieces of fish on top made them tough to appreciate them, besides it tremendously lacked taste...Overall, I though it was definitely overpriced for what we got, thus the medium rated review! read more

I can find few faults with Craft. Thankfully; since I live close and have few other options. I go here on average once a week because the food is good, the service is great and, well there are over one hundred beers on tap! Tuesday means two dollars off every beer. EVERY BEER! Getting a bit tired of the short poured beer by putting a huge head on the already small glass of beer trick. Seems it's carrying over to the food now as well. Makes for a loss of confidence in the food and just a general lack of feeling valued as a customer. Will be taking a break from Craft in hopes that this situation gets rectified. Still love the venue and staff tho. read more

I live in Langley and I always look forward to going to Craft whenever I'm in Vancouver. Great ambiance, outstanding beer selection and the service is always great. However I do have a bone to pick. I loved the fish tacos and got them every time but they have changed the recipe lately and the dish is now a rip off. ~$16.50 for 3 tacos each with a peice of fish about half the size of a fish stick. They used to be deep fried, crispy and amazing but now it just lightly spiced and tastes like it came out of a microwave. Add 1 little avocado slice to each taco for $2. Needless to say I wont be getting the tacos again. What a shame. read more

Wow this place is the ultimate beer lover place. So many beers to choose from and the food is great too. We had the 10 napkin burger, the poutine and mac n cheese. Don't worry we had to share this with 3-4 people. The portions were huge, perfect for sharing and hanging out on any day of the week. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the service. We knew it was going to be busy on a Friday night and the group was supposed to meet at 7:30pm. The birthday girl and her sister showed up at 5:30pm with hopes to put their name down early so we could get spots by 7:30pm. The hostess refused to let us do that. At 6:30pm they tried again. They were told no. By 6:50pm they tried again, confirming that another 8 of us would be showing up at 7:15-7:30pm. Finally they let us put our names down and gave us a beeper. . Over the next 2 hours they had multiple tables free up. Even a couple of medium sized tables beside each other. I asked if they were able to just split us up but they refused and insisted that they needed them for smaller groups. Guess what time we actually sat down at a table... 9pm!! I understand if tables are freeing up but all in different areas, but we watched groups of tables clear over and over again. This was the most frustrating dining experience we've had in a long time. I'm split with how I want to rate this place. I loved the food and drinks and even the atmosphere at the entire place. But I'm extremely disappointed at how we were treated. We tried to be proactive and still had to wait 4 hours for a table. Please review your procedure for busy nights. read more

Big nice restaurant, great service and heaps of beer! Our waitress was the nicest gal from Dublin. We shared the poutine and chicken sliders. The chicken sliders had such good sauce on them, spicy! The poutine was pretty good, I loved that it wasn't drowning in gravy, the chips were still crisp but they skimped a little on the cheese. Presented beautifully in a skillet. I had the cask, which was gross but that is the dice you roll ;) We saw some interesting events coming up, we will be back for a cask night! read more

The amount of beers here is crazy. When you walk in and see the kegs, you feel like a kid in a candy store! We went in for Sunday brunch and to catch some of the football games. Tons of screens, all the games were on, beautiful. The brunch menu is pretty small. I had the chicken and waffles and they were pretty good. The house hot sauce is really good. My husband had the steak and eggs and he enjoyed it. The flights... I don't get how you can only choose from two predetermined flight menus. I hate IPAs and the flights are IPA heavy. I ended up only drinking half of what I got. My fault but man, I would have paid more to create my own flight and had more. read more

This is a great place for a work party or a get together with a large group of friends. The space is huge and can accommodate any size group. I've been twice now with large groups. Both times, we made reservations which meant no wait. I'm not into beers (too bitter for my palette) but appreciate that the servers knew what to recommend so that I could enjoy something and not feel left out at the table. My friends who are into beer mentioned that they didn't like the preset beer flights and wish they could choose their own. read more

The beer selection is pretty nice obviously as they have around 140 beers on tap. I tried the sampler which had 6 local British Columbia beers and then a mini glass of the Granville Island maple cream ale. All the beers were enjoyable and I liked that you could get a 10 ounce pour of any beer instead of a full pint. The food wasn't anything special and the prices were pretty high. The poutine wasn't that good unfortunately. The cheese curds didn't seem fresh and got cold so quickly and I wasn't a huge fan of the actual fries themselves. The crab sliders were decent but seemed overly salty and the pretzel buns were a bit tough. Inside it is nice and clean and open with a nice view out of the back towards the water. Worth visiting at least once but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back I think as 8 and 9 dollar common craft beers (at least in the US) are a bit much and the food was overpriced I thought for the quality. read more

Good beer. Decent food. Try their mac and cheese on a grill pan, quite interesting. Nachos are overrated. Service is something to be desired. Not sure if its too loud but even if you wave at the girls unless you are holding up a credit card or cash, doubt you'll be getting their attention. This is not often though, last time we were here we had a great waitress. Good atmosphere. Something about quick, uncompromised service makes me extra giddy. I have anxiety issues that I might miss my event over dinner, but in spite of the packed restaurant on a Friday night, they managed to get me out of there in an hour, no rush. With a friendly, non-pushy server, I may add. I had a chicken sandwich, yam fries and beer for lightweight drinker, as suggested by our server. The food didn't come in huge proportions, not little either. It was just right. The sandwich was delicious and filled me up, but not in a bloated, gross way. I enjoyed it. The beer was perfect for me (too bad I didn't care about the name), but no tomato face after. The atmosphere was jovial, packed with Friday night GNOs, retirees, young parents and babes, couples and guys being guys. Good crowd in a heritage building was a great place for an after work special. I would return. read more

This place has started to grow on me over the past year as the customer service has improved and the quality of the food has also improved. They have a good selection of GF beers (Glutenberg IPA is the best) and a nice selection of GF menu items. I'm a sucker for the barrel of nachos! Sometimes it's a bit of a wait to get in, but I'll continue to come here as long as the food and customer service give me reason to. read more

Meh, went to check out what the hype was all about. Sure there are a lot of beers, but only a handful was stuff I haven't seen at other places. The building itself is gorgeous and it's neatly laid out. The food was overpriced in my opinion, along with the beer. I enjoy my beers, but not enough to spend my time waiting and then paying more. I guess once you're on the west coast, every place has their own selection of beers, and I didn't particularly find anything that special about the list of beers on tap. There were only 2 that I wanted to try and the rest I've had before or weren't interested. read more

I really like the ambiance. Its huge and in a great area of town. We sat upstairs along the railing so it was a great view of the entire place. Next time I would love to sit by the windows/patio downstairs especially on a sunny day ;) We didn't have a problem getting a table right away because I showed up promptly at 6 on a Friday. I don't think I'd wait an hour to get in here though, especially trying it out once already. The food was good. We ordered Nachos and poutine. Yum! Unfortunately me and my friend got too full to finish it all. Service was just ok. I liked their huge selection of beer...obviously. Even though I'm not a huge fan of hoppy beers, they had enough of a selection that I was able to a wide variety of beers I liked. I would definitely go back! read more
