If you are looking for a place to grab some drinks, then this place is 5 stars. The beer selection is second to none. However, the food doesn't match their incredible beers. The ceviche was bland and boring. The chicken sandwich was filling, but nothing to write home about. Go thirsty but save your money and eat dinner elsewhere! read more

Mmm should have gotten a burger - sadly I got the carnitas tacos. Generous portion of protein/pulled pork which was great, since the tacos are on the smaller side. The negative was that it just tasted like salty meat... nothing else. Maybe a hint of lime that I spritzed on top. Anyway, just so y'all know. Quite disappointed. Service was so so too. But I wouldn't generalize. As others were helpful when called upon. read more

Location is awesome, place inside is really cool and the servers were really good. I didn't like their ice cream sandwich dessert- in fact, it was kind of gross, but the serving staff was awesome. read more

With all the hype of this place going into the historic Salt building I wasn't surprised to read that opening weekend had a 4.5 hour wait! I decided to check this out with a friend on a lovely Thursday evening. My fault in failing to remember that there was a hockey and thus the wait was 20-30 minutes. Doable in my mind. The space is beautiful; open, warm and a great vibe to such a large space. There's lots of different types of seating areas which makes this place great for all types of clientele. The menu is easy to navigate and the server was eager to offer suggestions. Decided to start with the ahi tuna poke with their house sauce. I am kind of a poke snob since I basically live off the stuff on my visits to Hawaii. The balance between spicy, sweet and salty is excellent. The crispy wonton chips were slightly greasy and over abundant. The tuna was definitely the star here. I could have eaten an entire bowl on a bed of greens. For my main, I went with the mac n cheese; reason being that I love mac n cheese with bacon and typically I have to add it when ordering at other establishments. The gooey, smooth blend of cheeses and poblano peppers satisfied by chilly night craving for carbs. I added their house made hot sauce which gave it the extra kick it needed. The beer, cocktail and spirit menu is extensive and almost overwhelming. Thankfully I am picky with my beer which decreased my choices significantly. There is something at CRAFT for everyone. My only con is that there is lots of little upcharges: the poke sauce, hot sauce and others. SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! I almost forgot...we had the smores bombs for dessert; in house made marshmallows and graham crackers with dark chocolate all in bite size bombs. Yummy goodness that is perfect to share read more

Just to be clear: -- Food: 2 stars, and PRICEY for the type of crappy bar food they offer. -- Beer: 3 stars The variety of drinks they have here brings this review up to 3 stars, as well as the cool hipster restaurant environment. Otherwise I would not come here again for food. - service: girls are friendly, but they are busy even on a weekday evening, so unless they are coming to you to take orders and drop off food, it's pretty much difficult to get a water refill or attention to re-order. - atmosphere -- love the interior decor, apparently it's an industrial building (salt process center?) stripped down and preserved to become this giant bar restaurant. - beer -- hubby got the flight (6 4oz combos) and said it was "Meh", he's into craft beer and has had lots. He said though they have a lot of variety, but mostly local small brewery stuff that didn't really impress him. **- food - PRICEY and way below expectations!!! We tried a "Thai lettuce wrap" ($12) at the suggestion by the waitress, it was CRAP! can't believe she said it's her fav. item on the menu because that's 30 cents of ingredient there you throw together yourself with Ramen! - Poutine -- Ok, but PRICEY for a serving of essentially thick Fries. - evening special is "fish taco" ($3 each) and again it's not much better than the street side stuff you get in California's Baja fresh (and they cost about $2 there regular price). Tasted OK, that's about all I can say. - $20 for half of a "free run" roasted chicken... did someone FORGET to put the salt on the roast? the $5 whole Costco chicken tasted better then this! The sides of giant cut carrots are ridiculous, and not to mention bland.. Whole deal came out to over $100, that can get you some decent fine dining elsewhere in this city. Personally, I am so disappointed by the food that I would NEVER come back here for meals again, maybe DH will come chill for a drink or two occasionally but NEVER food. read more

After a late dinner we wanted to check out the area and tried to go to Brassneck as recommended to us but they close pretty early so we headed over to Craft. I've never been to a restaurant that has so many beers on tap. I think even Yardhouse in the states only has about 80 or so. I do like that they separate the beers into all the different types and have a little description of each which makes it easy to decide. Beers are on the pricey side here and after 3 beers with tax and tip it came out to over $30. But that isn't my real complaint about this place. Downstairs while I was waiting for my friend to get out of the bathroom, there was a little mouse running around in the basement area. If a health inspector saw that I'm sure that would be a huge health code violation somewhere. I'm glad I didn't eat the food here knowing there are mice around. The area down there is so dark i'm sure they could hide a few mouse traps and the customers would never know. I've seen mice and rats running around before but this is a restaurant. I wanted to like this place but seeing that just ruins it. read more

I'm updating my review, since I've had better experiences here lately. The service has improved by a large margin, even single diners and small parties won't get ignored. Food quality is decent, and there's a very nice drink selection. The fast food sushi is hilarious, try it out, its very small portions but its a cute idea. Nacho portions are huge. I still feel the front of the house is a weak spot, since it's a bit of a jog to the seating area [ie waiting/assigning tables, etc]but overall a great improvement. read more

Went to the location on English bay.... such a bad experience... won't even think about going there even... had a 5 top the hostess told the wait list is 1 to 1.5 hours then after 1.5 hours it became 2hrs and after that we were still behind a table I get it that sometimes the time can vary but was she that inexperienced, that couldn't even tell that the wait list it 2.5 to 3 hours and not reserve tables and waste time... of other people. read more

Beer drinkers paradise. They advertise 100 taps and it certainly looks like it. We didn't have a reservation so it took about 30 minutes to get a seat. Service was great even though the place was packed on this particular Friday night. I cannot report on the food as we only had the chips and guacamole with our beers. read more

The guy I am dating is really into craft beer, therefore, came down here. I first heard about this place 'cause someone else reviewed it (which appeared on the front page). I also had my good friend mention this place is passing. It is very large, spacious, with lots of seating, however, expect a wait of some sort. Ours ended up being half of what was quoted, however, a wait none the less. The beer list is amazingly long. They have gluten free beer as well. Speaking of gluten free...they can make your burgers on GF buns and have Gluten free mac and cheese. The place smelled amazing with all the food. Every dish that came out made my mouth droll. They played hipster music, however, not too loud that you couldn't carry a conversation. Our waitress was amazingly friendly and awesome, genuine attitude. I was appreciative of the long list of culinary changes and requests that had to be made. She was very friendly about all of them. Best CS that I've had in a long time. The price is a bit on the high side, however, this is a once in a while thing. read more

I've only been to Craft for a drink and shared appetizers, so I can't really attest to the food. What I have tried are the chicken wings, nachos, poutine, and s'mores. I really liked the poutine: they stick the whole cast iron pan into the oven so the cheese curds melt, and the fries are crispy. I wasn't a fan of the s'mores. Of course, there's a great beer selection, definitely something for everybody's taste, and if you're having trouble choosing, you can ask for a sample of whichever beer you want. The ambiance of the building is great, and makes it a fun place to hang out. read more

I love the variety of beer that the restaurant carries and I highly recommend flights of beer if you can't decide on just one. The food is delicious and I love the Ernest Ice cream sandwiches. The cookie is a bit hard to bite into. Perhaps if the cookies were placed in the freezer, it would soften the texture? Try not to head down there when there is a sports game going on, it can get really busy! read more

I've had some okay experiences here .. it offers what you'd expect, big beer list and pub food. Walked in the other night with a friend from out of town and it looked like there was quite a wait. The hostess offered us a number in line and when we hesitated, thinking out loud that we should see if Tap and Barrel had a shorter wait, a manager behind her assured us (in a bit of a condescending tone) that by the time we walked the two blocks to Tap and Barrel and got in line there they would have us seated so we took a number to wait. After 20 mins with no sign of any movement in the line we gave our number back and 5 mins later were seated at Tap and Barrel with drinks on the way. With the level of competition for establishments like this in the neighbourhood I can't see myself trying my luck at this place again. read more

So got in on opening night. As expected great beer selection. Lots of local brews and a great selection of imports - all on tap. Decent food menu. Just an update... I've been here twice in the last 2 months and have to downgrade the star rating to 3. The food and service has hit the skids. Both times my food was relatively tasteless with disproportionate meal components and the service scarce. That's all I have to say about that. Previous review below... Ya know, It's not that this place is expensive. It's just that it GETS expensive. Quick. Great pub-style comfort foods, ginormous beer list (and other drinks!) and for the gluten-free, gluten-intolerant types, THIS place is heaven from beer to food! It reminds me a little of a beer garden at Oktoberfest in Munich based on it's enormity, high ceilings and noise level... but not. I don't know. I just love it! It's a non-pretentious no-brainer for weekend drinks and eats! read more

Incredibly noisy. You have fascinating architecture with that really high ceiling. Unfortunately, as it seats lots of people and the ceiling really resonates, it makes having a conversation a bit like being in a dance hall. Minus the dancing. p.s. for the laughs, zoom in on the current main picture for this bar. "Happenin'" by Justin. See the guy all the way to the left? He's covering his ears. read more

With the food at St Augustine's fluctuating between mediocre and extremely disappointing and the Alibi Room not opening until 5pm on Mondays, we headed to Craft for a pre-game meal. The first impression was awe-vious and awe-inspiring and I don't even mean the bar. Walking in evokes thoughts of German beer halls and ski lodges packed with beautiful blonde women in braided pigtails, their cute button noses still red from their last run through the moguls. We were lucky enough to arrive shortly after 4pm and getting a table wasn't the adventure that many seem to have experienced. Looking back now I totally understand why the wait for tables can be long, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Although it is a restaurant it would be easy to turn a visit into a pub-night and spend 4 or 5 hours laughing and enjoying time with good friends. That can be frustrating to customers waiting but from a business point of view, it means you're doing something right. Our waitress, a beautiful combination of Kelly from Saved by the Bell and the daughter from How I Met Your Mother, was helpful, polite, sweet and came across as actually caring about the comfort and experience of her guests. It was cheap flight and cheap pasta night so we decided to take advantage of both deals. I had the flight of 6 local beers for $7 and my friend had 6 from the USA, a tribute to the upcoming Superbowl, for the same price. 5 of the 6 choices in my flight were good choices but the 6th was OK Spring Pale Ale. It just didn't fit in with the 5 micro brew selections. The other issue I had was that the beers were presented out of order. I had to re-order the beers so that they wouldn't wash out the beers to follow. For example, drinking a wheat beer after having a pale ale would prevent you from picking up all of the subtleties that a wheat beer offers. For dinner, it was mac and cheese with 4 cheeses and roasted poblanos and a very smoked bacon. This was on point, hitting all the marks it needed to. Decadent, rich and satisfying, it was balanced beautifully. The waitress offered us fresh pepper and I asked her what I always ask. "Does it need it?" Most servers hum and haw but don't give an answer. Our server had a quick answer and recommended it so accepted and I quickly agreed with her after my next taste. People have been talking about how overpriced Craft is but I didn't see it. Granted, we ordered 2 specials each but two people getting out of a satisfying meal in Vancouver, including alcohol, for under $40 total after taxes is pretty damn rare. All I know is that I'm now a fan and will be making a point of stopping in the next time I make the trek out from the valley. read more

I have been here twice. First time was not long after it first opened, loved the huge selection of beer, but the food....it was horrible. I ordered the poutine as a starter which didn't taste good, and I ordered the beer braised beef which the meat felt over cooked and not tender as it claimed. After a long time, I thought I would give it another try. Brought my friend who just came back to town last month. Not so much of a long line up on a Wednesday night, we were seated immediately. However, after we waited for half an hour, not a single soul came to check and see if we were ready to order. I waved at a few servers to see if they could get us our server or help us with our order, but they only stared at me, and continued walking away. So we decided to walk out. I will never come back again even for the beer. read more

Loads of choices for beer here, but not as many as we thought based on advertising. Good choices, good samplers, clean space, and located in a hip neighborhood. Service was interesting. Scatty, unfriendly, and put-out would be the descriptions I'd use. But hey... I'd give them another go round if I was thirsty and in the area. read more

Went to Craft Beer Market for the first time today... Greeting staff were really friendly, had to wait, but only ten minutes which was totally fine. The building itself is fantastic... they've really managed to keep the aesthetic of the old salt mill. Serving staff were fairly friendly, but not much more. We were excited to check out the craft beers on offer as they'd really hyped the fact that there were over 100 taps... however, we were fairly disappointed... the beer choice was just ok. Yes there were over 100 taps, but the selection was actually a little slim. We were initially thinking of ordering a few flights (after all, they have over 100 taps to choose from), however, the flights were preset and there were just two to choose from... you couldn't make your own up like you can at many places... and as far as the flights they offered, the beers they had decided to use on them were not great. We ordered a portion of poutine to share (which was initially just going to be a first order)... it was good... a little pricey and the beef was a little light on the helping, but it was good quality. As far as the beer itself, we ordered an Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout and a Parallel 49 Gypsy Tears... we'd planned to stay for longer, but after having our beers delivered to our table, we decided not to stay beyond those initial drinks... both of them were served as though they were lagers... very cold, way too cold... for the Gypsy tears, it was not too bad, but for the Stout it was poor. in addition to this, the Old Rasputin was served before it was ready and the head on it was way too big (about one third of the pint glass it was served in!). For a company that says it prides itself on serving Craft beer, it's not great that they didn't know how to serve it right. Unlikely to be going back, definitely won't be recommending it to anyone. It's a shame, as I was really excited to have this place fairly local... thankfully Brassneck Brewery tasting room is nearby! :) read more

Big is not always better. Long waits, poor access, awful service. food was not the worst I really wonder how much bacteria lives in the 4 kilometres of pipe the day before the bi-weekly cleaning. I hadn't been to craft for a while, I work just opposite but always go elsewhere so I thought why not try it for a group of friends for lunch. WORST MISTAKE EVER!! It was empty and yet the service was still terrible... It took us 50 minutes to get our food?!? The worst part is after we left myself and a friend who shared pizzas were violently ill afterwards, and the others had bad bellies from their salads, burgers and sandwiches. Safe to say NONE of us will eat there again. You were once good Craft but in my eyes have hit rock bottom with all the other great breweries out there. read more

Vancouver has so desperately needed a place like this to open. I've been a few times now and have found the service to be mostly good. One server recently made comments about sometimes hating her job and seemed frustrated that we weren't ordering multiple rounds of beer each time she came around. That aside, I'm always impressed at how well they all know their beers and how attentive they are to the tables. The interior space is huge, aesthetically appealing, and makes for a great place to check out other people or watch a game. The seats are comfy, too. The beer selection is excellent, and the food that I've had so far is pretty good. The grilled fish tacos ($2.75 on Tuesdays!) are tasty. I also liked the wings and the Poke -- especially the house-made wonton chips which are super scrumptious. The place is always packed, and for good reason. Expect to wait easily 20 minutes to over an hour for a table during peak times. I'd love to see flight options with more flexibility in pours, but otherwise, the menu has a good variety of options and price points. read more

The mac and cheese was decent, the wings and poutine were a popular order for food. This place will be great in the summer when you can sit out on the patio. read more

I have been to Craft on multiple occasions, catching up with a friend, for a Yelp Elite event and while hanging out with a large group of colleagues and every time have had a good experience. I specially like the location and the look and feel of the building, a bit of heritage mixed with new comfort style of pub that is sprawling all over of our beloved country. The beer selection is ok and the flat bread pizza is always fresh and tasty. Overall I recommend coming here to enjoy the views and sip and snack on yummy food and beverages. read more

First and foremost the selection is mindblowing...over 100 beers on tap! I was trying to figure out where all the beers were being piped in from. Evidently there is a tap room which I'm sure must be cavernous. Wait times on a Friday night were about 30-40 min (even if you want to sit at the bar). Once seated, the bartender was pretty attentive and allowed us to sample beers before we ordered our pints, which was great because I can't tell a hefeweisen (spelling?) from a stout. For food, portions are pretty generous but not the most monstrous sized I've seen in a bar. The tuna sandwich was very tasty and had lots of fresh veggies packed into it. The macaroni and cheese was also good (who doesn't love bacon in it) although we wished it could have been a little cheesier. As previous reviews have said, it's kind of pricey, with entrees starting at $15 (burger) up to around $25. I would be back to order specials and try more beers but not necessarily have a full dinner meal (although there are not that many options in the area). Tips: -don't arrive hungry because the wait will be long and you'll be forced to buy a really expensive deli option from Urban Fare to keep yourself standing -nacho pan isn't as deep as it appears. It's still big but it's not the bathtub you think it's going to be read more

Well it does what it says on the tin. Craft Restaurant Bar. It is both a restaurant and a bar, with beer. Any references to craft beer are for display purposes only. So we needed a drink and rolled up to this giant beer-hall like establishment. It's fairly chain bar chic and full of the same staff and clientele you'll find at Earls etc but with a penchant for attempted beer snobbery. I doubt the folks over at 33 Acres and Brassneck are too concerned. The menu boasts delights such as 'fast food sushi' and napkin burgers. Um, interesting. My friends did try the flatbread and it looked pretty good. I was too busy knocking back 'Refresh' cocktails with very little booze seemingly and navigating the .5km walk to the bathroom. The staff vacillated between being attentive and totally absent. After we didn't get our drinks, the manager came over to comp us a round but then when we wanted to pay, the waitress was nowhere to be found. In fairness, it's a big place, she was probably down at the back 9. Huge bar, lots of TVs playing sports, it's your typical 'man' establishment but with some eye-candy bartenders for the ladies. read more

Craft Beer Market first and foremost is about the beer and the selection. The selection, with over 100 taps plus rotating selections does not disappoint. The ambience is large and open, decor is inviting. Upon walking in, this is the kind of place I like. They keep a great selection of Canadian, Pacific Northwest, Californian, European, and other american beers. The menu is well divided by style, with an additional menu detailing more about each selection. If you like beer, you won't be disappointed. Can't decided? They have two flights, one BC based one not that change weekly. As to the food, it's just OK. I stuck to crab cakes, taquitos, and mac and cheese, typical west coast pub faire. Compared to many places around Vancouver in their food price point, it's a bit below the standard. But the food is not the primary reason to go here. It's really not. The other thing detracting from it, not all of the servers are super knowledgeable for all the things they have on tap. read more

We came for mainly drinks later in the evening but the place was still packed with a line for tables. The place was packed and the atmosphere was very lively. The boys ordered a beer each and the girls shared a pitcher of the white sangria. I have never had a sangria like this and I have to say it's one of my favourite. There were so many chunks of fruit throughout the pitcher, and it was a mix of Mandarin Orange, raspberry, orange and peach. Very good. The guys liked their beer too, and one friend ordered the ice cream float with Guinness and commented that he was very shocked that it tasted as good as it did. We ordered some Baja fish tacos and wings to share. The fish tacos were far from the best and fell short slightly. Same goes for the wings. We ordered the Canadian flavour wings (bacon and maple syrup). I could taste a bit of the sweetness from the maple syrup but had no idea where the bacon flavour was since I couldn't pick it out at all. It also wasn't cooked as well as I would have liked. It wasn't really crispy and the sauce made it quite soft/soggy. I prefer my wings with good crispy skin drizzled in sauce and still much prefer the maple black pepper wings from Kingston taphouse by a mile. Overall we thought the food was average at best and their drinks were good but extremely overpriced. My boyfriend ordered a beer and it was $9 for less than a full pint. I definitely don't think we got our money's worth for what we paid but at least the service was good and the atmosphere was enjoyable. read more

I love coming here, I've been here many more times than my check ins show. Pluses: -Amazing beer selection(hence the name) -Weekly rotating local and "Around the world" beer flights of 6 beers each. -Great appies(the poutine is very delicious, and the nacho dish is HUGE!) -Pretty good cheese platter(if you're into cheese) -Very friendly staff -Ample seating -Atmosphere has always been enjoyable, not too loud, but lively. Minuses: -Despite the ample seating, this place is always packed, expect 1hr+ wait time on weekends. Reservations are usually full as they only allow for 20% of their restaurant to be reserved. -Washroom is large, haven't had to wait(but most guys washrooms don't have line ups), but the washroom is located downstairs in the basement. -Not part of the underground beer market, so no Westvleteren XII :( Tips: -Put down your name at the front, give your phone number, take the buzzer, go elsewhere for a while. I've done that multiple times, but always go back to Craft when they call(buzzer only works up to a block away). -Try their beer can chicken I'd give 5 stars but the long line ups weigh a heavily in the minus category. read more

Who "CRAFT"ed the fish tac-no's? Came here with the wifey for some munchables and a couple of drinks wanting to kick back from a long, hard day of work. We waited about 20 mins for a table which we were pleasantly surprised with considering the lineup (we were expecting to wait 30+ mins). I ordered the Leffe blonde ale which was absolutely marvelous. It's a sweet ale with a creamy head that goes down as smooth as butter. My drinking partner ordered the Pinot Grigio which they have on tap and it was quite tasty. We ordered the aforementioned fish tac-no's with a side of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was solid! And by that I mean it was very palatable and not that its physical properties proved to be inedible. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend the fish tacos to anybody. The pieces of fish totaled approximately 22% and 31% of the length of the tacos themselves, respectively. Not a very good fish:taco ratio in my humble opinion. Pictures attached; judge for yourself. We mentioned this to the server and she graciously admitted this was standard operating procedure, though, she did get us more fish. I hate complaining so I'll avoid the fish tacos in the future. We also ordered the chipotle cheddar burger and it was fairly average. The fries were more of the same. I ordered the cabernet merlot as my second round and was quite happy I did. Overall, service was quick and polite, food was a mixed bag, and drinks were above par. I'd come back but next time I know what I'm not ordering. And our table was wobbly to boot! read more

Been wanting to check this place for awhile now. Came here on a Sunday afternoon (noon). From reading the reviews, I expected to wait in line for a table but there was no line up. The location of the restaurant was convenient as it was not located in downtown but false creek. I found free parking on 4th ave. Immediately entering the large warehouse converted restaurant, you see a nice display of beer kegs. That instantly makes you thirsty to try their wide selection of beers on tap. This place would be great to hangout with friends during happy hour or late night as they have pub food. However I wouldn't go here for dinner. I ordered the Baja tacos (3 pieces) with side of Mac and Cheese. It satisfied my hunger but was nothing to rave about. Their special was $2.00 off fruity beer so I tried ordered something that sounded like "wolfinstein". lol . It was tasty. Next time I would go for a sampler. Glad this place existed. I would come back. read more

So two reasons for the rating. First, the baby back rib is not something I expected. The rib is dry and hard to chew and cut. The sauce on it is too sour for me. I would not recommend it. Second, the service is not quite good. The girl who served my table seem really nice and friendly but the thing is she is really business. I saw her came and went all the time. Carrying dozens of tableware and cups. She really did not have time to check on us. I wait a long time to ask her for more water. Also, we ordered a blue cheese burger. It was never brought to us. At the beginning we thought it is late because it is really popular. After a while, we asked the girl when it will brought to us. She checked the kitchen and found that it is ready for a long time and it was already cold when she found it. So disappointed. read more

There aren't too many places like this in Vancouver which is part of its charm. A great place to meet a group of friends and drink the night away sampling all the beers till your hearts content. It's a big warehouse style pub with plenty of wooden tables and a long bar you can perch on if it's just a few of you. Perfect sports bar, plenty of activity here on the weekends. It's a popular spot with no reservations available, so prepare to wait a bit if you get in around dinner time on the weekend. Food isn't too exciting here, not the greatest crab cakes I've ever had, but they fill the void. Certainly not the cheapest place around to grab a beer, but the abundance of choice makes up for it. The ambiance and building are what make this place, so for that I'll be back for sure. read more
