The beer is always good. The food was too. We were here for the grand opening. The place was busy and service left me with no empty beer and a smile. I will return. Sometimes I think the business of a place like this gets in the way of fun. With so many beer options I would like a better way of trying some of the MANY different beers they have to offer. Great place and worth the wait! Went there fist week opened and few kinks but generally good. When arrived told it would be a 30-40 min wait but we could go to the mall and they would text us. This worked great and was only 20 min. Beer selection good. They were out of my original selection but recommended one and brought a few samples. Food arrived within 20 min and service very attentive. Only complaint would be the fish tacos could use more fish but the beer can chicken was fantastic. I don't know. I want to love it, it's really close and options in the south are limited. The food is average but, we're there for the beer which, unfortunately always seems to be just a little flat and a little off. I know it's never going to be as good as getting it direct from the brewery itself but.. I don't know. Maybe it sits too long, maybe it's not stored cold and loses some flavour. I'll start by saying the food was quite tasty. We ordered off the happy hour menu and were happy to see the portions of each were not miniature versions of a portion. The flavors were also enjoyable. The rating of two stars is for the service of both the bartenders (we waited at the bar for a table) and the server who brought the sharing plates (at the table). Firstly, the two male bartenders, who really brought me to this rating and writing this review, and, if my mother wasn't as kind (and hungry) as she was, I would've left without receiving the first beer. Both men were the most unhelpful and rude bartenders I have experienced in my 20 yrs of bars. One literally threw the menu down in front of my mom, and completely ignored her, twice (after giving eye contact post question), until we he walked away and I called another over. The next rolled his eyes at our inquiries and started talking to someone else before we had completed the order. When our table was ready and we had to pay there, he completely ignored my mom. I've never felt so completely undervalued as a customer, or even a consumer anyway; my mom was so embarrassed and confused. Later at the table when the server didn't know which one of the plates she held were ours, sighed and made some rude comments when I said I was surprised and happy it was ready so quickly: "Well, it's not like we make everything beforehand so take it." Yes, that was the plan but also, just making conversation and thanking the quick service. Guess that's not ok. I'm disheartened at our experience here; it is sad to look forward to spending time out and then being left to feel so insignificant to anyone as a human, or even taking that part out, as someone giving money to a company. read more

Very disappointed in my meal this evening. Had the Brewmasters chicken sandwich. The bun was extremely dry and too tough to bite into. Server was fantastic and mentioned to her manager who was supposed to stop by but never showed up - we were there for another 45 minutes after server asked if manager had stopped by but never showed. It was not a busy night. They took $2.00 off a 40.00 bill. Very disappointed. They should have taken nothing off as $2.00 show that it is just a mediocre chain with poor management. read more

Second visit to this location. The first time, the service was horrendous, nice fellow, but seemed overwhelmed and under trained. Had to constantly wave him down and then the cheque was incorrect and had to wave him down again to get it adjusted. Food was adequate, despite the kids mac and cheese coming with absolutely nothing (really, a couple carrots and cukes wouldn't hurt) Brought an ice cream for my grandson and no spoon. That took upwards of 5 minutes to get back to the table. Have frequented the Vancouver location several times, and have found the service and food to be consistently good. So, we tried again a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday. Had the fish tacos, fish pieces were so small they were overcooked and dry on the ends and it was a hunt to find the avocado (that costs extra) Kids milk came in a heavy "rocks" glass for a 3 year old. He could not manage to lift it, as it came with no straw. Server was pleasant, but not very intuitive to our needs as we had two small children with us. Don't think we will try again. Seems server training is lacking and food is mediocre at best. read more

Waited 30 mins for a table.. average as the first time was 50. Their Food was better the first time. I had the burger with bacon and blue cheese..... there was so much topping this time that it made the bun super soggy. I had to eat it with a fork and knife. fries were good but preferred the Mac and cheese as a side. Buddy had the side salad with kale and he mentioned it was great. I think their problem is that they're trying to pump out as many tables as they can and it's having an effect on their food quality. It'll hopefully improve over time but I don't see it happening any time soon. The only other thing is the music is very loud. Waited 45 minutes for a virgin mojito. 45 minutes.... the waitress came back twice within that 45 minutes to check up on us and said our drinks would be right up... they wernt. Idk why a mojito takes 45 minutes but anyways, the food took well over an hour too. Not to mention, we were there on a sunday night... wasn't extremely busy. Went here yesterday with a large group, 19 ladies. I have to say the service and food was amazing. They also were quite busy but are waitress never got flustered nor did she make one error. All our food came out together and promptly. I had my usual if it's on the menu fish tacos and they were great. Can't wait to try again read more

We were there for Sunday brunch. The food was nicely presented and delicious. The servers need more time on their feet to be more organized. Also, the servers need more training on handling dishes correctly. I did not use my cups after the were brought to the table as he wrapped his fingers around the rims. Ordered Gluten Free Mac&Cheese. Confirmed at the time of ordering and on delivery:"is it gluten free?" Yes was the response. Called to report that it wasn't gluten free to which the manager asked:"How do you know?" I described my son's symptoms to which the response was "it was rung in as gluten free". Manager told me they have different shape pasta and when I told him the shape we got he admitted it was not gluten free. "What do you want me to do?" was his response. If you are celiac beware! A dark place with noisy atmosphere. I asked for a quiet table and was informed that since I was alone I should sit at the bar even though it was mid-afternoon and only a handful of tables were in use. The bartender took my order, another person served it by handing the bowl to me - from behind, with a scowl on her face. No one asked how it was or if I'd like anything else, like another drink or dessert. I had the Ahi Poke Bowl, which was served at room temperature and by the time I got home I was incredibly sick. I was so hungry as I had yet to eat that day so I did eat half of it even though it was bland and everything was chopped up into small pieces as if prepared for a toddler. The wine is served in 5oz portions instead of the standard 6oz and mine came in what looked like a small pop bottle, which was not clean. All around horrible experience. Avoid this place. read more

Had some drinks and food here on a Friday night and the service was amazing! Kyle (our bartender) definitely went above and beyond when he searched the entire bar for a copper cup to make me a classic moscow mule, as they had just run out of these cups. 10/10 would recommend. read more

The staff are clueless- they tell you the wait is more than half hr so you leave and you get text not even 10min saying your table is ready. The food is very small servings. The price is on high side. Tables ate awkward. If you order nachos is comes in a metal let lid and the edges are sharp so be careful you don't cut yourself. read more

Great selection of beer on tap. Food is pretty good as well. The atmosphere and decor are excellent. A good place to have a beer with friends after shopping. Try the brunch on Sunday mornings if you can. Be aware the mall can be pretty busy so parking can be a little difficult to find. If you have to park on the far side it isn't hard to just walk through the mall though. If you don't know what drink to order definitely ask a server or bartender. They are very knowledgable and can help you find a drink that matches with your meal. read more

Our experience at craft left us feeling unappreciated and upset. The woman at the front, who I am assuming was the manager, was rude to us when we inquired about sitting in a different area of the restaurant. Their staff looked extremely overwhelmed and the management didn't seem to do anything to ease the stress of the waitresses. Food was overpriced and wasn't worth the wait. This is not our first time at craft and we wanted to give it a second chance, but after this... we won't be back. read more

We were pretty excited when Craft first opened in our neighborhood & have been about 10 times. The food and beer options are awesome, but the service is always horrible!! Management should implement a new service program as even the last time we were there it wasn't busy all and we sat without service for 10 minutes, so left. We were not a fan of this location of CRAFT. The ceilings are low and the washrooms are very far away. The food is not good, here. My wife had the chicken wings and were not good and she feels sick now 24 hours later. We have been to the locations in downtown Calgary and False Creek in Vancouver. Not a fan. read more

Recent experience in Sept 2018. Sat at the bar and took to long to get a beer. Young male bartenders were too busy chatting up the young female servers while patrons at the bar were waiting for service. Manager came over and did their job for them. Another customer with his wife just got got mad and stood up on his barstool and yelled at the bartenders, "hey guys we are over here" and then walked out. Lesson for the bartenders, your there to serve customers not pick up the server girls. read more

Good food, cool interior, but I can't be the only person who thinks 86dB is too loud for music at lunch. Cant hear table conversation.

My friend and I gave Craft a try during the first week of opening. She arrived before me at about 11:45 am and was seated right away. I arrived about ten minutes later and it was already getting busy....very shortly afterward, the place was packed full. I'm glad we thought to arrive a little ahead of noon. The service was pretty good, she took our drink orders promptly and they came in a decent amount of time. I was very happy to see my favourite Fruli on the menu but a little shocked by the size when it arrived.....I didn't realize they were served in different sized glasses and my fruli was only a .25 and quite expensive at 7.50. My son, who has been to Craft a few times already with his buddies (of course, their mission is to try all 100 beers!), said next time to get the Hoegaarden, it's a half litre for 9.50 and he says it's good ;-) Or I could get a nice one for the same price but a .4, less disappointing ;-) We had a coupon for one free appetizer, which was nice and we chose the shrimp tacos, which were very good, however, a little overpriced compared to comparable tacos at other eateries, in my opinion. I had the prosciutto arugula flatbread, it was 'ok' and again, maybe just slightly overpriced. My dining partner had the Mediterranean Power Salad and I had a bite...pretty underwhelming, a bit of a fail, very bland. Much too much dressing as well. Despite the experience being less than stellar, I do think the staff will start to settle in and get in the groove soon (they seemed a little harried this day, but I did like the way they worked as a team to support and help each other with the service) and the menu is varied and interesting, so I do look forward to trying more items on the menu. I'm hoping everyone will write in with their food reviews, so I can figure out what the 'real gems' are going to be and try those! I think it's important for management to remember two things....1. The restaurant competition in Calgary is high.....I have PLENTY of other places where I can spend my $$$ for a great meal, so two mediocre experiences and I won't bother to return....why would I when I can get a guaranteed awesome lunch or dinner elsewhere? and 2. It's about how you make people FEEL more than anything....being made to feel welcome, being acknowledged and valued, these are the things that keep people coming back. Just as important as the food, drinks, and service. We'll be back to give it another chance. Ps. Find it interesting that the menu is labeled 'Soups & Salad', but there is only one soup and multiple salads....wouldn't 'Soup & Salads' be more appropriate?? :-P read more

We live near Southcentre and were excited when Craft moved into the neighbourhood. We love good food and beer. The restaurant is beautiful and tastefully decorated - industrial farmhouse? Unfortunately our Saturday afternoon lunch was a big let down. There was one one couple ahead of when we came and it took 10 minutes before the hostess at the front even acknowledged us. I simple I'll be with in a few minutes would have been appreciated. They didn't have the first IPA my husband ordered so he ordered a Lagunitas IPA, a beer he has had many times. It wasn't a Laguinatas. It also took about 15 minutes to get our beers. We ordered our food and 20 minutes later our server told us the steak sandwich wasn't available. Then he made another selection and she said it wouldn't come out at at the same time. Fortunately it came out soon after my lunch arrived. The food was mediocre, the soup bland but the grilled cheese was good but not great. I ordered another beer and it was not available. My second option was available and it was very good. We asked if the IPAs on the blackboard were from Canada or the US and she wasn't sure. Food was being delivered to the table next to us, and guess what he had a steak sandwich. Apparently it's not available at noon but is at 1pm. Overall a big disappointment. Perhaps they having some opening hiccups and need sometime to get it together. We give them another chance in a few months...hopefully it will be a better experience. read more
