My AC got wrecked when a lizard decided to take shelter from the outdoor heat by hiding in my AC's outdoor unit's electrical compartment, only to get fried to a crisp instead when it shorted out my AC's compressor. After doing my due diligence to research how my AC system works, and taking care of the usual culprits like changing out the capacitor, I decided to schedule a pro to diagnose why my AC still won't cool. Enter Brandon from CrackerJack who responded immediately when I pushed out my request for an HVAC diagnosis on Yelp. From the Yelp chat already, his communication was top notch. In person, he was incredibly professional, personable, and educated me extremely well on what went wrong, and what my options were. I will not hesitate to call Brandon first for all my future HVAC issues and recommend him to all around me. read more

Brandon was great on my first service call where he cleared out my drains that were clogged by an old factory sticker floating inside the furnace compartment. I then schedule him again for another wiring issue I'm having from an unrelated problem. We scheduled for Sunday which he cancelled that morning. Then we reschedule for the next day. He didn't call or show up and we're still without a working ac. read more

Terrible experience. Charges for the job but doesn't finish it. Reads every text, then completely ignores them. Clearly going out of business and doesn't care about customer service. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

Thank you Brandon for fixing our HVAC problem on this heat wave in san diego. My family and my pets are going to have good sleep because of your kind service. Thank you also for taking time to explain to me the issues with my AC, explaining why it happens. I will definitely hire you in the future for my HVAC needs and appliances issues also. The company took me last minute, when others were telling me they don't have availability until next week. Highly recommended. They don't charge for diagnosing the problem! I am really amaze! Thank you again.. read more

Update: Had to dispute the deposit I was supposed to get back with my credit card. They gave me a temporary credit while they investigated it and after not hearing from them they finally closed out my case. My advice to you all is stick with someone local, this guy's phone number is out of state and from talking him during the repair his permanent home is out of state as well. Don't risk it for large expensive repairs with someone who can just disappear from SD. read more

We needed our AC fixed and our tank less water heater maintenance done. Brandon was quick to respond to my quote request and helped me book a same day appointment. Upon arriving at my house, the AC problem was quickly diagnosed. Within an hour, my AC was up and running, and my water heater was flushed and filers cleaned. Brandon was professional and courteous the whole time he was at my home. He was respectful of me, my family, and my home. We will definitely be calling again next time we are in need of service! read more

The prompt same day service was greatly appreciated. Brandon was professional, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, a clear communicator, and checked things carefully to really make sure everything was in order. He was able to quickly identify and explain the issue clearly. He right away diagnosed that it was the dual capacitor that was bad. He had the part. It was replaced within minutes. We finally have cool air after days of suffering from the heatwave. Thanks to Brandon for an outstanding job and excellent service. I highly recommend Brandon and CrackerJack Air Pros. read more

This business is the real deal - no need to look further. Honest, efficient, and very knowledgeable. We thought our AC was done for - Brandon came the same day just hours after contacting and during a heat wave. He explained what was wrong and why, showed me the issues without attempts to upsell or mislead. Great price too. Had our AC up and running again in no time despite it being very old and needing a part replaced. I am so glad I called. You will be too. Great service and people here. read more

Failed Repair Service - PROCEED WITH CAUTION If you are considering using Cracker Jack Home Services, proceed with caution. Our leaking front load washer machine was misdiagnosed and after waiting 2 weeks for the back ordered part, the leak is now worse. The experience has been filled with numerous communication failures as well as a total out of pocket expense now exceeding $324.00. Not to mention the 3 tech visits, each one a complete inconvenience with a 4 hour service window. It also concerns me that the door hinge and door trim were replaced at a greater expense than the rubber gasket, which to me, should have been step one of the repair diagnosis, at a less expensive ($140) initial cost. I tried to support a local business, but I can't say that I would recommend Cracker Jack Home Services. read more

They are not very honest and tried to get me to change my star rating by giving me a gift card , so I changed it then they never gave me the card and they broke something and the guy tried to blame me. Here is the rest of the text in the photo I don't lie or steal so don't say I do!!! U should of called me when I texted you. U got ur stars so you just decided not to send the card I guess. If u see all the text I was very nice apologetic not the kind of person who was planning on stealing a stupid 25 gift card, why even suggest it then mention the stars !!! No communication at a crucial time of a text not even an straightforward accusation, just nothing no it's you they will see as a business treating someone disrespectfully taking advantage of a nice person read more

Brandon was responsive, courteous and was available, initially. But in the end he took our money and did not complete the project. We needed someone to install a ductless mini split to our new addition. The process took several months because of the different phases of the construction. The last thing he had to do after the drywall was done was add Freon and plug the unit in and test it. I attempted several times to contact him and he suddenly stop answering my text and calls. We paid him in full prior to the test. I had to hire another person to complete the work and found out that he didn't bolt the unit to the ceiling anchors (it was held loosely with one screw) and he didn't connect the line set to the unit which meant that we had to cut the drywall for the second time. The last 2 times he came out to our house he was not in his uniform and was in plain clothes. He also didn't have his truck with him. I would have given him 5 stars after the work was completed for the value and at the time, he would work around the construction schedule. It was not until after I paid him that he did not respond. I felt cheated and had to pay another person to finish the work. I am assigning 2 stars, because of the value of the product and he was initially responsive. read more

My experience with CrackerJack could not have been any better. Jerry and the rest of the staff are very quick to answer the call for service. If there is ANY reason that they need to reschedule or clarify something they do so immediately. They make their appointments on time or even early and notify you to make sure. The repairs are made correctly the first time. Our technician Marcus was fantastic, a real professional. This is the second time I have needed to use CrackerJack for different jobs, and I would not hesitate to use them again. I have found my go-to appliance repair service. Thanks! read more

Serviceman diagnosed my refeigerator off the top of his head.He performed no diagnostic yesy at...He said to thaw it out completely, plug it in again and it would work fine..I told him I did that already, but he said try it his way...I asked him run some electrical tests to be sure the controls we're ok...he would not...he insisted his way would work..I tried his way, thinking he is the expert, but same problem existed...I called his shop 2 times asking for a refund...each time I was told they would talk to the tech and call me back; the office never did.they did say the invoice said I needed a new thermostat, but I refused...The tech NEVER said this..this is an outright LIE!! I am contacting the Better business bureau and complaing, possibly an attorney...Cracker Jack..you can stop potential trouble by sending back my $69.00...show you are a company with integrity..I will not stop my pursuit in this matter, until you remedy this situation... I came home at 5pm on a Monday to find that my refrigerator was not working. After looking at yelp, I decided to try Cracker Jack Appliance Repair. I am so glad that I did! It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The call was answered right away, and I was told a technician could be there within the hour. Pricing was very up front and fair. Marcus arrived soon after, and was able to figure out what was happening. He took the time to explain the everything to me, and was very professional and knowledgable. He had to return the next day to finish the job- he arrived on time and, again, couldn't have done a better job. Our fridge is back up and running and we couldn't be happier. Cracker Jack Repairs...very odd company. I definitely would not recommend these guys. I had a very basic repair that needed to be done (ice machine in my freezer). A technician came out to do the initial visit/estimate and everything was fine. I was given a price and we set the date for him to come back to do the actual work (the next week). Well, that day came and went and the guy was a no show. I called that afternoon to double check on where he was and someone from Cracker Jack gave me a long apology, cross up in communication, we're very sorry, etc., etc. I was told I would be given a discount and that they would call me the next day to reschedule the appointment. The next morning I received a text that they were working on scheduling my follow up appt and that they would call me asap. But then they never called. I tried several times to get in touch with the company (I had 2 contact numbers) but no one ever answered the calls and I had to leave several voicemails. I even tried messaging them through Yelp. It was like they were avoiding me or something like that. Again, just very odd. Especially since I was told that they had ordered the part I needed and the just needed to do the intall. Look elsewhere for an appliance repair company! read more
