Came in around 4pm before the dinner rush. Literally only a few people were there to eat and they were super slow. Forgot our appetizer and the hash brown casserole tasted like it was a boxed product. The green beans had zero flavor. Had to go to a gas station nearby to get snacks for the evening since the food was inedible or was forgotten. read more

Worst breakfast I've ever had. Service was bad. No utensils. By the time we got any eggs were cold. Gravy for biscuits was nothing more than flour and water. Zero flavor. read more

Waited 15 minutes at our table and was never served. Several servers walked by but no service. Worst Cracker Barrel we've been to!!

I should have read the reviews before coming. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. We waited 15 minutes before even being acknowledged by a server even though they passed by us many times. After 1 HOUR we were told that our appetizers had just been dropped in the fryer after asking several times. They finally came out and yet again we waited for our food. At the 1 hour 45 minute mark we asked about our food. We were told that their printer was down and that they had just started our food. We asked for the manager. He confirmed that their printer was down and that it would be at least another 15 minutes for our food. NO APOLOGY, NO NOTHING. He didn't even offer to make it right in any way comping or getting our food moved to the top of the list. NOTHING. The service itself was about the worst I have ever had. I had to ask for water refills, I had to ask for everything or get up and get it myself. One person in our party got their okra with their check. Check came and of course full price everything. This restaurant is one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. One plus; the food was really good......but the experience was terrible. Multiple parties were asking to speak to the manager. Stay away! read more

To be fair this was my first ever visit to Cracker Barrel. I came because I saw them advertise a Hashbrown Casserole "Shepherd's Pie". Shepherd's Pie is my favorite dish, so I had to try it. What I received was pot roast and mashed potatoes with carrots and peas, topped with hash browns, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes and green onion. It was a Frankenstein mish mush. I was appalled. Once I got it disected, however and tried the items individually, they were ok. I might even return for the pot roast and the buttermilk biscuits which were both pretty tasty. Why they thought this would be a good combination though, I don't know. I also got some fried pickles to try as a back up and they were ok. They did give a healthy helping of ranch for dipping and from this one meal I can see why some people might like their food. It seemed pretty mediocre to me and I will probably always be upset about the shepherd's pie but luckily it's "for a limited time only". read more

Food was okay. But the service ? Horrible. It wasn't all that busy but of course, they were short staffed which I definitely understand but people shouldn't show their frustrations of that on customers, it's disrespectful. We were seated then the waitress Heather comes over. She kinda looked at us and scoffed then continued to wait her two tables . We Waited about 15/20 minutes for her to come over and introduce herself And when she did, she did it a little quickly like she was in a rush then said she would be right back and went to another table . That's fine. But we were ready to at least order water. She didn't give us menus until we got the water. Seemed stressed but she only had a couple tables and there was at least two other waitresses running around with her. So we get our water and I ended up with the rocket pop mimosa which was amazing btw, order it!!! It's not good until the Popsicle melts though. Anyways, we finally get our Order in and wait about 35 minutes for our food, mind you she didn't check on us after we got our drinks. Didn't give us the silverware or napkins we were missing. She checked on the other tables but not us. Didn't ask for a refill on water or offer a pitcher of water for the table of 6 (mind you), just crazy. Food finally comes and still no napkins even after we asked for some. Didn't give the Apple butter we asked for or sour cream so we asked again. By then she seemed annoyed. Some of us got biscuits, some got cornbread and instead of individually putting it on peoples plates, it was on one big plate. Not sure if they are lazy or if that's what they do but didn't seem right. Heather comes back with the rest of our stuff and she asked if everything was good now and we said yes except something with my mom's food, I honestly forgot what it was but I know that Heather corrected her on what she said which I found ridiculous because regardless it was the same thing, just said differently and it's disrespectful to try to correct a customer as though my mom didn't know what she was talking about. So she gets whatever it was and comes back. She then kinda looked around our table and was like "sorry guys we're short staffed, and corporate just came in so I'm in the kitchen giving them my demands since I'm finally heard" and we're like uhm yea good for you, except that not really a reason to abandon your table. SHES then said "I'm fighting for myself because they only pay me $2.32 to do this and I barely make tips.." and I just thought wow. Because it was almost like she wanted us to feel sorry for her and try to coarse us into tipping her, which we did although the service wasn't good. I don't tip people for them doing their job, I tip them for going above and beyond their job that's asked of them. However in this case , she did neither. --- this was three years ago when I last came here, just thought I'd share. Not sure if service has been better since then. read more

First time at a Cracker Barrel, EVER! Wonderful experience. Great food; I had the Southern Fried Steak, Fried Cinnamon Apples, Dumplings, and Steamed Broccoli. The service was great as well, our server was Kaeerey Lee and she was wonderful! Kept checking in on us if we were okay and was very fast when it came to providing drinks and any assistance. Very lively as well! 5/5 would recommend and eat here again. Absolutely BRILLIANT read more

Do not go here for a meal. I have never seen a Cracker Barrel run so poorly in my life. Being a resort/vacation town I expected quick service and friendliness from the staff; neither of these things were true. We waited 40 minutes for a table, which is to be expected on a Sunday morning. After 15 minutes of being at our table, I had to go and ask for a server to come take our drink order. We ordered our food at this time too. From our table, the kitchen looked to be pure chaos. Food came, biscuits and gravy were abysmal. Just don't go, not worth it at all. read more

Don't order the chicken and dumplings. I Must have hit the "Old stringy and mix of undercooked raw chicken" option. Corn and broccoli cheddar ass-erole were edible though! EDIT: Cinnamon apple slices were unpeeled and had parts of the core in them. At this point it just feels disrespectful. Crying myself to sleep tonight with an empty stomach. Thanks Cracker Butt. read more

This is the second time we have come to this location, and the second time it was not a good experience. It took more than ten minutes to be acknowledged, then an hour to get our food at a time when the place was half empty. They gave my daughter a glass with a big chip and a crack in it, they forgot my side, gave my other daughter the complete wrong soup, the mashed potatoes were so salty they were inedible, and the corn tasted like it was served in dish water. The first visit 6 months ago was bad enough, now it's clear it's just not a good establishment. We will never go back. read more

Cracker Barrel may be known for their delicious eggs and especially pancakes (although the eggs were not warm on this trip, but they were happy to replace), for those of us non-breakfast food eaters it's the diverse lunch and dinner options which feed my belly. They have had the most delicious HomeStyle chicken sandwich for years, but it's not not he menu any longer. They have the ingredients but don't offer this specific item and our brand new waitress seemed apprehensive (or unsure) how to deviate. For example, my wife ordered tea with a side of milk, and she did not know how to provide a side of milk- only creamer- because they don't sell a side of milk. She eventually figured out pouring a small amount in condiment to-go container was okay, and the wife was happy. But no such luck with my sandwich leaving me to order from the standard menu which I understand. Unfortunately, the standard chicken sandwhich is quite sad. They offer aside of sauce you can pour in, but it didn't do the trick. The I am not sure how many fries is considered a side but this seems even less than a kids meal would have. Service was trepid, food was okay. Now I understand which this location is ranked lower than most Cracker Barrel's. read more

Service is slow and they seem confused, is only polite way I can state. Country fried steak was dried out and tough. Biscuits are much better than the last time we came to a Cracker Barrel, they tasted fresh and we came in middle of the afternoon. read more

Hostess completely ignored us standing right in front of her and checked in two others right in front of us, coffee was ice cold, waitress forgot silverware, cream, lemon, and brought us wet silverware when it finally arrived. Never did bring extra cream for the 2nd cup of coffee that was as cold as the first. The food arrived 25 minutes after we ordered but the table seated after us got theirs and finished by the time ours arrived. Had to ask 3 times for a coffee refill, and then it came without the requested creamer. Next time we will drive the extra distance and go to Jen's Alpine Cafe in Baraboo. They never disappoint. read more

I went to Cracker Barrel today to try their new menu item, the Butter Pecan French Toast Bake. Honestly, it was inedible--hard to chew, flavorless, and so disappointing that I couldn't eat more than one bite. I went back to bring this up, and instead of handling the situation with care, the manager was completely rude and dismissive. No compassion, no empathy--just attitude. When he asked what I wanted to do, I requested a replacement and ordered the Daily Dish Chicken and Rice. The description says it comes with two sides, so I chose mashed potatoes. The manager then told me that the rice was a side. Really? Then why call it Chicken and Rice if the rice is just a side dish? Might as well rename it "Chicken with Sides." When the food finally came, the portion size was ridiculously small--like something you'd serve a child. On top of that, the plating was a total mess, as if no one in the kitchen cared at all. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had at Cracker Barrel. Between the inedible new menu item, the dismissive manager, and the sloppy food, it felt like the restaurant didn't give a single thought to customer service or quality. Definitely not worth it. read more

Wait wasn't long. The service was great. My only complaint is something that could be fixed easily. I ordered the steak and eggs. Steak was good, and it comes with a garlic butter on it. Well, the garlic butter goes ALL over the plate causing the rest of the food to be drowned in this as well. Couldn't taste the scrambled eggs, or the hash brown casserole. Both tasted completely like garlic. All that would need to be done is put the sides on another smaller plate. read more

I'm not the biggest fan of Cracker Barrel food but this is where my group was going so you know you go with the flow. It's set up like any other one I've been to. The rocking chairs in the front with some games and then you enter through the store. We were a table of four and we were sat promptly. Our server Jayvian greeted us promptly took our drink order and came back to take our food order. I ordered the Old Timer and upgraded my hashbrowns to the tots. I also ordered the chicken sausage as my side. The food came out quickly and correct. The food is pretty basic nothing super spectacular. Service was great. Location was clean. read more

I have been going to Cracker Barrel for a long time. This was the worst service and food we have ever had at one. So I have not been since they shortened the menu. My daughters both ordered hot chocolate which had zero hot chocolate mix or cocoa of any kind in it. Wife got black coffee that no one ever asked if we wanted refills. We spoke to our waiter twice once when he brought out the food and once when he delivered the bill. Eggs were cold, hash browns requested crispy came barely sautéed enough to not be considered raw. The best thing far and away are the biscuits. So disappointed in the experience here. read more

I expected the service to be better overall because the front entry was nice and we walked into a marketing scheme of buyables. We were greeted by some nice employees but when we got to the restaurant side of Cracker Barrel the experience was not good whatsoever. it was actually horrible for a FIRST experience at a cracker barrel, i might never be back honestly. when we sat down, we were sat at a strange table location and the smallest when a lot of the whole section was open, we received our menus and waited 15 minutes at least to get greeted and asked for our drinks. Not throwing any shade but are we hurting for employees so badly that we're hiring people that barely even speak the language thats on the menu? the language barrier caused some of the issues with service for sure. We ordered a trio of food, a plain cheese burger, and campfire beef. we ordered the trio to come first as the appetizers, but those ended up coming out AFTER our actual entrees. The cheeseburger did not come plain, it had tomato mayo and lettuce, and the meat looked like a hockey puck. We sent that back and did not have it remade since it was already a pain. We didn't know that you're supposed to get complimentary rolls and butter, and our server didn't bring those until the very end when we saw another table get them. He also forgot the biscuits that come with the campfire beef and never even brought them after being asked about it. we waited literally over 20 minutes for a drink refill during our actual meal too... as our waiter was walking around right there and we were trying to get him to notice us. it was not very busy at all. Once we received the bill, we noticed that the burger had been taken off like they said they would but they charged us separately for the trio making the bill $6 more than advertised. this has been happening all over the dells too, check your receipts. we got it fixed, but some people arent as lucky to notice in time. read more

We had the grandma's sampler and French toast. Normally you can expect a certain level of quality at cracker barrel. Not today. It seemed like they were overwhelmed in the kitchen but nothing was as good as it normally is and we left some of everything except the eggs uneaten. The French toast has way too much egg on it and were not cooked well. The cheesy potatoes tasted strange and too garlicky. The country ham tasted extremely salty - or rather "only like salt". The bacon tasted off. The only thing that seemed okay was the eggs. I don't get to cracker barrel very often. But, I'm gunna take a longer break before I give them another try read more

Didn't get a chance to try the food, but the service we got was bad. We waited for an hour after ordering our food, but no one came to check on us after that... We asked the manager to check on our order and he said "it's coming" without even checking. We were not sure if they were too busy or not care their customers. Eventually we decided not to wait any more, and told the waiter to cancel our order. All he said was "Ok", very unapologetic. I would not recommend. read more

Our service was absolutely terrible. The server was newer so I'm not fully blaming her. We had waited 45 minutes before a server even noticed us sitting. Then we got our drinks 15 minutes later. Our food came out later: wrong, cold, and some items missing. The manager was the worst part. He was dismissive and didn't apologize. He also didn't offer much off our total bill as compensation. He simply took off our drinks. He needs an attitude check for sure. I hope this helps anyone else from coming here. read more

I visited on a Sunday night and ordered something as simple as pancakes and bacon. Shockingly, the waitress couldn't even comprehend a basic order for bacon--she asked how many pieces I wanted, which shouldn't even be a question for a standard order. We had to repeatedly ask for silverware, which wasn't provided until well after our food arrived. The order took nearly 35 minutes to come out, and when it finally did, the waitress didn't even bring syrup with the pancakes. Despite asking for it, we never received it. When I brought these issues to the manager's attention, they seemed completely indifferent and wanted to argue . I'll definitely be contacting corporate because this level of service was unacceptable. read more
