I had the best day yesterday at crabby bills. An old friend of mine just moved back in town and wanted a real Florida beach experience. We sat up on the rooftop and I was afraid it was going to be way too hot, but there was a gorgeous, steady breeze and shade and we had the best server, Selina taking care of us! I had tasty $5 rum runners and some yummy shrimp. The view is to die for and the ambience and service was the best. Thank you Selina for hooking us up! We were able to park for free enjoy beach view, dining, and then walk the beach. It was a great day! Rooftop and beach views were the highlight--absolutely beautiful setting and worth the visit alone. Service was a 3/5 and felt unwelcoming, which really took away from the experience. Staff didn't seem happy to be there. Food was very average and nothing special, though it came out in a reasonable time. Drinks were also just okay. You go for the view of the Gulf and then opportunities to sit upstairs on the open patio or inside the expansive dining rooms. It's a big seafood menu with minimal choices for those not enamored with seafood. The union rings were fresh and hot almost perfect. The fish sand which, fried shrimp and fried oysters were all spot on. The 1lb crab leg meal was good but the service of them was a little lacking. Had to ask for the items always provided with crab legs, like cracker, small fork, and a side plate or bowl for the shells. The side green beans and coleslaw were good but a trade off which one you'd eat cold while attending to the other items in the plate. read more

Visited Crabby Bills with a friend. Large place, lots of bar seating. You also have a view of the beach which is nice! I ordered the blackened grouper sandwich and it did not disappoint. The fish was cooked perfectly and hot and the beer battered fries were good too! Our server did a great job and was very friendly. I took my daughter and her friend who is visiting from Connecticut here last night for dinner. We had a great view of the beach up on the deck area. Our server Selena was excellent. She made sure that our food was always there on time. make sure our drinks were full and had a great attitude. The ambience and the vibes up on the deck are great views of the beach are superb and of course, when the sun goes down, you're in the right spot to get a great photo. Stopped by Crabby Bill's while I was in St. Pete for a conference, and it turned out to be a great choice. I ordered the seafood boil and it was loaded with shrimp, crab, corn, potatoes, and onions, all seasoned really well. Everything came out hot and flavorful, and the drawn butter and lemon on the side made it even better. The shrimp were big and fresh, and the crab was easy to crack and full of meat. If you want great food come to Crabby Bill's. This place has great food. The atmosphere was pretty typical of a seafood place and service was good. We had a couple no -seafood people in our group and our waitress was patient. The calamari was cooked to perfections and the crab strips were tender and so good as well. A friend of mine got the seafood boil which she could not finish so I helped her clean her plate lol. The seafood boil was absolutely wonderful. Sausage had the right amount of spice, shrimp were flavorful without being doused in salt, and the potatoes/peppers/corn had all the right flavors. Such a great spot for a casual beachy lunch. We sat outside, had a few cocktails, and just enjoyed the Florida weather and music. The food was amazing -- fresh, flavorful, and generous portions. Service was friendly and quick, and the whole atmosphere just has that "you're on vacation" feeling even if you're local. I went there with my family last night and the only good thing about this place was the ocean view. We ordered drinks, appetizers and meals ranging from the pasta, handhelds, to seafood platters. They served us warm beers, frozen fish that tasted like it's been sitting in the freezer for months, and everything was tasteless. But if the "Crabby" attitude is the new way the servers are going to act, we will skip next year. Spent a week on st Pete's beach at the Don Cesar. We walked up the beach to crabby bills. Tricky access from the beach, but we found a way through. Excellent service, clearly excellent management and training. We were very impressed with the work crew on how fast they moved and how good they were. We stayed a little late and even saw how thoroughly they cleaned up for closing. Impressive team. But the highlight was the food. Snow crab was very good. And the Nashville grouper sandwich was I think the best grouper I've had and very generous portion. Cheers to the waiter for recommending it. Dude with braids or dreads. My boyfriends sister got food poisoning from the sausage in the seafood feast. Her food came out lukewarm. It also took our server 10-15 minutes to get our table waters after we ordered them, and only gave us refills after we asked (all of our waters were empty). Really disappointing service, the lady working as the cashier in the merchandise shop also did not even speak to us the entire time she was completing our transaction! We've been coming to St.Pete for a dozen years and had never set foot into Crabby Bills until today. I'm glad we rectified that mistake. For starters, our server was a rock star. She gave us great recommendations that were spot on. She even tipped us on grilled vs darkened, which also turned out to be absolutely correct. My son and I had the special of the day which was a large cut of Mahi Mahi, a skewer of shrimp and two sides. I figured the Mahi would be the main attraction, but the shrimp was delicious. My son had the darkened Mahi, which was a lot better than my grilled, just as our server had recommended. We enjoyed our first visit so much that we came back the next day for Thanksgiving. This time I had the grouper Reuben..'the grouben'..which isn't on the menu but is available. Both of the servers that we had said that this was the house favorite. They weren't wrong! Crabby Bills is an iconic restaurant. It was many years since I dined there until today. The restaurant has a loud, touristy vibe. My margarita tasted like it was made with a cheap mixer. My partner's sangria was slightly better. Our food came out quickly and our server was efficient. We had a cup of the clam chowder, which was not hot enough and overly salty, but flavorful. I ordered the mahi-mahi which was very tasty and had two good size portions along with mashed potatoes and green beans. My partner had the fried shrimp with french fries and coleslaw. It was good except the coleslaw, which was literally swimming in the dressing. We also had a piece of the Keylime pie, which was not quite sweet enough.
