We had a couple no -seafood people in our group and our waitress was patient. The calamari was cooked to perfections and the crab strips were tender and so good as well. Spent a week on st Pete's beach at the Don Cesar. We walked up the beach to crabby bills. Tricky access from the beach, but we found a way through. Excellent service, clearly excellent management and training. We were very impressed with the work crew on how fast they moved and how good they were. We stayed a little late and even saw how thoroughly they cleaned up for closing. Impressive team. But the highlight was the food. Snow crab was very good. And the Nashville grouper sandwich was I think the best grouper I've had and very generous portion. Cheers to the waiter for recommending it. Dude with braids or dreads. It's a big seafood menu with minimal choices for those not enamored with seafood. The union rings were fresh and hot almost perfect. The fish sand which, fried shrimp and fried oysters were all spot on. The 1lb crab leg meal was good but the service of them was a little lacking. Had to ask for the items always provided with crab legs, like cracker, small fork, and a side plate or bowl for the shells. Such a great spot for a casual beachy lunch. We sat outside, had a few cocktails, and just enjoyed the Florida weather and music. The food was amazing -- fresh, flavorful, and generous portions. We've been coming to St.Pete for a dozen years and had never set foot into Crabby Bills until today. I'm glad we rectified that mistake. For starters, our server was a rock star. She gave us great recommendations that were spot on. She even tipped us on grilled vs darkened, which also turned out to be absolutely correct. My son and I had the special of the day which was a large cut of Mahi Mahi, a skewer of shrimp and two sides. I figured the Mahi would be the main attraction, but the shrimp was delicious. My son had the darkened Mahi, which was a lot better than my grilled, just as our server had recommended. We enjoyed our first visit so much that we came back the next day for Thanksgiving. Josh was personable and hustled like no tomorrow. The place was insanely busy. We drove over 900 miles to take a vacation and this was our first visit to Crabby Bills. Crabby Bills is an iconic restaurant. It was many years since I dined there until today. The restaurant has a loud, touristy vibe. My margarita tasted like it was made with a cheap mixer. My partner's sangria was slightly better. Our food came out quickly and our server was efficient. We had a cup of the clam chowder, which was not hot enough and overly salty, but flavorful. I ordered the mahi-mahi which was very tasty and had two good size portions along with mashed potatoes and green beans. My partner had the fried shrimp with french fries and coleslaw. It was good except the coleslaw, which was literally swimming in the dressing. We also had a piece of the Keylime pie, which was not quite sweet enough. Our 1st night in St Pete and I was so excited to go to Crabby Bill's for dinner and amazing raw oysters. We were seated on the roof top deck with and amazing view and ice cold beverages. Our server came to take our order. My partner ordered the "Mothers day" shrimp cocktail and white fish sandwich. I ordered the long awaited dozen raw oysters and grouper fish tacos. I asked about the $5 run runner special. Server said " would you like 1?" Not yet but dont forget me. He said " I got you" and walked away. That was the last time we ever saw our server at the table. We did see him at the bar. We saw him talking to his friends and we saw him looking over at us. We even made eye contact with him We waited and waited 30 min. Still no appetizers Drinks empty. This would be a great time for that rum runner! Then 40 minutes go by. Finally a female server walked up with our entrees. We tell her we never got appetizers and unsure why our waiter abandoned us. Even after this waiter never came over. Not to check on how meal was. Not ask if we needed anything and not to apologized for the error with the appetizers. Nothing. So again we wait. And wait. And wait. Finally ask the female server who was hustling around giving great service to her own tables if we could get out check. She relayed the request to "our server" who, after another long wait came over with the check and said " sorry, they JUST told me they ran out of the appetizers" when we complained that he could have checked on us he all he said was " I've been here since 6am" and walked away. Finally the bartender came over to let us pay. As an apology she said I took the appetizers off your bill. Are you kidding me? Yeah you did! This is a good place for a casual meal on the beach. We went early (5:30ish) on Memorial Day. We did not have reservations, but they were able to seat us immediately. We weren't right on the picture windows, but we still had a nice view. The food and beverages were... fine. They had a bunch of $5 drink specials, so that's the level/quality to expect. I had their pineapple jalapeno margarita, and it was potable and didn't give me a hangover, but it definitely didn't taste like quality tequila or juice. We started with the crab cake and the fried calamari. They were all fine, but nothing special. I had a cup of clam chowder and the blackened grouper tacos. Again, they provided me with calories, and they were seafood, but they were definitely not destination dishes. That being said, our seats were comfortable, we were on the beach, there was a roomy parking lot, and the food was fine. I didn't get sick. It was a more affordable meal that I had on other nights eating in this touristy destination. So if you're looking for an uncomplicated meal that doesn't cost too much, this is as good a choice as any on this part of the beach. read more

Well, I could see why they said that; the garbage bins are right in the parking lot! . The restaurant itself smelled great... like seafood, as it should. 2. I got the all you can eat crab special that they have on Thursdays. We just so happened to be there that day so it worked out great for me. For $75, I can definitely say that I got my moneys worth on that deal. Crab meat is my favorite seafood along with grouper! Speaking of grouper, my wife and I shared the grouper bites appetizer and we both thought it was solid. What wasn't solid was my wife's 'lulu friend chicken'. She said it was extremely salty but the sides of green beans and mac was really good. 3. The atmosphere. I liked it a lot. They have a nice little shop in there with merch, and with the establishment being right on the water... yeah, great feels. They were also playing awesome tunes from the 90s and early 2000's which brought a smile to my face at least. There was also a lady that was going around taking pictures and she offered a magnet and a printed picture for purchase, $25 and $12 perspectively. We got a magnet. 4. Ok, another review talked about the service. Now, I believe that what I'm about to say is due to management not scheduling enough servers and not on our server herself. She had quite a few tables and it was tough to even get refills on our drinks. We observed our server running round like crazy but didn't see a manager or anyone assisting her or any other server on the floor. Overall, I'd go back. Is it the best spot? This is a favorite of mine in Indian Rocks. My friend had a craving for raw oysters so that's what she ordered as an appetizer. They were huge! My other friend ordered two orders of the garlic butter mussels. Yes, two orders. They're his all time favorite and he could probably eat more. When they were done with their appetizers, the two of them also ordered frog legs. I ordered the Bourbon BBQ Chicken. The Bourbon BBQ sauce was amazing! I dunked my chicken and my fries in it.
