I couldn't call the company due to it being a weekend. Once Monday morning came, I called the company and explained to them what had happened to my order. They knew right away that UPS lied and took my order for themselves. They said it happens to them on a regular basis. So I then had them send out another order of my 1/2 Bushel of Jumbo Male Crabs, and they didn't disappoint. This is my second order with Crab Dynasty. The crabs were absolutely delicious! Our crabs were BIG and FULL. My experience with customer service was top notch. Samantha, was very helpful by calling me back as promised if Jumbo Crabs would be available. It is the beginning of March and crab season doesn't start for another 2-3 weeks, initially only large were available. The day before delivery I received a call confirming the Jumbo were indeed available with a fresh new catch. Our shipment was prompt and it arrived exactly 1hr before our gathering. This half bushel of large male crabs was JUST OKAY. I've had so much better from Crab Dynasty in the past. So, I 'm wondering what happen. I had a 1 day UPS Ground and the crabs were frozen. So, how could the crabs get so frozen in one day. I know you like to keep the crabs and other seafood that is in the box cold, but these crabs were rather mealy. The steamed blue crabs are good but the sizing isn't consistent enough for me. so I stopped ordering them. Now i only order the King Crab legs and the raw shrimp. I have been a regular customer and have placed about 5 orders since the beginning of April. I am a bit disappointed about my recent purchase on 5/7. I placed a next day order for a dozen jumbo male crabs with beer and heavy seasoning. I knew something was off when I never received a tracking number. I sent an email inquiring about my tracking number and received a reply stating that they were unable to locate a shipment for me. I was then told that the shipment was left on the loading dock by FedEx because their truck was full. They offered to send me a Saturday shipment and they would take care of the shipping charges. I explained that I wasn't expecting to pay any additional charges anyway because it was their negligence, not mine. I received the crabs today and to my dismay, they didn't appear to be jumbo, they looked closer to large at best and they were not heavily seasoned as requested. They tasted very bland. I placed an order of half a bushel of female crab. When it arrived most of the crabs are missing claws and some of them are very dirty where I have to rinse out before reheating . I called and email my issues along with pictures. The response I received was female crabs claws tends to fall off when steam and to compensate they normally put extra claws in the box but I don't see any extra Claws in the box. After I reply that the issue is they are missing with no extra claws I never received a response back and was ignored. I've never ordered anything "fresh" online but took the gamble since I wanted Maryland style crab cakes, but being a west coaster, only have access to dungeness (which is the best crab for eating solo out the shell IMO). Having lived in Mass for the last 23 yrs and making it back to MD or FL sporadically, I have to rely on the internet...There are a lot of choices for online shipping. There are just as many nuances to making one's choice. Crab size designation and the actual measurements can vary by site...They all use terms like colossal, jumbo, premium, select, etc...however, the measurements vary and one should pay attention to those... First time ordering from Dynasty, usually order from The Crab Place, which is also located in Crisfield, MD....The order was shipped to my buddy's house as it was a Friday delivery and he has a second full sized fridge and we weren't going to eat until Sat and Sun...Their packing was the best I have ever seen in all the yrs I have been ordering online...Full of ice packs, which the bottom layer was still frozen on Sunday due to their layering of the crabs and bubble wrap. We chose the Large-select which were between 5.5-6"...we could have gone with a larger size but for a 1/2 bushel of 6-6.75" it would have cost us around $30 less than the $275 we spent for the bushel of selects....Which included shipping and a $25 coupon they advertise on their site... We ordered them heavily seasoned and for the most part, they were but the shipping process stripped them a bit...We heated them up in a cheap steaming pot that I usually use for lobsters. Every layer got a healthy dose of fresh Old Bay (I ran out of JO) and very coarse kosher salt...Crabs were delicious and we only had a few that I would characterize as paper shells...We had our fill on Sat and I left the wife at home on Sunday and went back for the traditional eat and pick for crab cake session....We ended up with 2.3 lbs of crab meat....for some reason they were out of yellow mustard but did have Hellman's and mustard powder...my crab cake recipe for that amount was 5 slices of Wonder Bread (crusts removed), 8 oz of mayo, two eggs, several dashes of worcestershire sauce and about a tablespoon of mustard powder and a healthy dose of Old Bay.... The crab meat was a perfect blend of backfin lump, body, claw, and crab mustard....We both had just a tad under 25 oz of mixture...enough for 6 four ounce cakes....I baked/broiled one for lunch today and it was Sublime! Very little binder but still creamy and crunchy due to the last minute broil yet screaming with real crab flavor.......I said it Thursday and will say it again...Nothing beats a crab cake made with fresh picked steamed crabs.... read more

I don't think this place is legit. The red flag was whipping when I didn't receive a tracking number after placing my order. I placed an online order on 5/24 to be received on 5/31. If you call the number provided, a man answers and says, "That's a different part of the company, let me transfer you!". You're transferred to a voicemail. I have left a voice message and sent several emails requesting an update. Patrick R replied to my initial email and offered to have my package delivered on 6/1. I replied asking if I would receive my original order request but he has yet to respond. I was trying to give them a chance to right their wrong but I don't think I'll be able to get my money back. read more

Uhmmmm.... I am speechless!!! I have no words to express our experience. We ordered a bushel of Jumbo Blue Crabs. The moment we opened the box, a sweet waft of fresh crab filled our senses. They were so clean and packed sooooo perfectly. We reheated them and as I added them to the steam pot, I expected to find some smaller ones, some lighter weight ones.... nope... every single one was HUGE, WEIGHTY and absolutely DELICIOUS!! No water fall out, when you pull the claws, no mushy meat, no ammonia smell. They were dense, heavy, meaty, sweet and absolutely THE BEST CRABS WE EVER HAD!! I will never get crabs from any one else. Follow up first. So I just called and spoke with them inquiring about my order that did not arrive. Notice I said " I called". Three days later and still no contact was initiated on their part. FedEx apparently messed up. I get that things happen. However, as a first time customer, I am judging you more stringently, especially if a screw up occurs. A refund was all that was offered. No explanation of why phone calls were not returned. No offer to send them again, no offer for a couple free crabs, nothing !!!! That is insane. Sometimes in business, especially in food service, you gotta bite the bullet and make things right. Seafood shipping business are popping up left and right. They all basically cost the same thing so all you have left is the actual experience. This experience was horrific and I will not be using them again. Original review Do not order from here. I placed an overnight order to be delivered Friday on Thursday. Hours later I get a phone call stating they don't have the size I ordered. However, they will have some the next day. I consent to just waiting one more day. Now they should be arriving Saturday by 12 pm. 12pm Saturday rolls around and no crabs. I call around 1pm and they have no idea what is going on and promise a call back. I did I not receive call back or my crabs. They apparently close at 5 on Saturday. I called back several times before 5pm and I could not get a real person, just keep getting voicemail. We all planned a gathering to celebrate our mom's 80th birthday in Nebraska with a surprise delivery of steamed crabs. Ordered 1/2 bushel crabs for a family picnic on the 4th of July. When the crabs arrived, they were overcooked. The meat had no texture and was completely mushy. We order crabs 3 times a year for our family but this is the first (and last) time I purchased from this company. Tried to explain to Brittney the situation and she stated she would call me back in 1/2 hr to 45 minutes. She never returned my call. This was on a Friday. The picnic was on Saturday.
