I loved it here tho, the atmosphere the staff the look it's just lit lol but honestly, and you wanna know about the food? Oh the food is ok point I got the catfish platter with fries and hush puppies, the catfish was meaty and flakey and juicy and just where it's at. The seasoning was great as expected and the hush puppies were great. I think it would be dope if they did homemade fries that would enhance the experience a little more so that's my opinion. Had multiple flat screen TVs with the menus on it. And had music playing in the background. I ordered the full combo with included a cluster of snow crab legs and jumbo shrimp. We order 4 sides that came with it. Rice, sausage, potato, and French fries. We also ordered the boss fries. I'm giving 2stars because they opened at 12:00 pm and we arrived at 12:40 and they were already out of broccoli. And our boss fries were burnt which they didn't taste very good. The Crab Boss Crab Shack will be the most recent failed restaurant in Prince George's County which is the entrepreneurial Bermuda Triangle. The staff is inadequately trained and supervised. Wearing masks between cooks, waiters, servers and customers is not adequately enforced. Hush puppies, crab cakes, catfish are made with subpar ingredients and overcooked. Crab meat is MIA and the hush puppies taste like you are eating golf balls. Cat fish is cooked in a mountain of thick dry breading. Value is non existent. Prices are extremely high. I can't recommend anything on the menu. I forecast this restaurant will be declared dead before the end of the year. read more

Was in the area and visited The Crab Boss after hearing soooo many people ranting and raving about how good it was. Pulling up and the line was out of the door, literally!!After waiting in line, cashmere the cashier was very nice, patient, and helpful. She was sure not to rush you even though it was a packed house. After placing my order you can imagine that the wait matched the line. I did have to wait a few to get my food. The owner "boss" was there and his employees referenced him as "boss". He was shooting a documentary of some sort. He was very friendly and pleasant. Looked out for me, and made sure I got my food as he noticed I had been waiting a while. The food look spectacular once received. I DIG YOU, CRAB BOSS! This mobile Florida-style, local seafood eatery makes its appearances usually in the PGC area (Laurel, Capitol Heights, etc.) from Wednesdays-Saturdays. You have to stalk them hard on their social media to see where they'll be located, and locations are posted about 2-3 hours beforehand. They usually offer 2 kinds of combos, and substitutions are not allowed. When I went, it was the 'Lil Boss' (which comes with lobster, snow crabs, jumbo gulf shrimp, Cajun sausage, Cajun corn, Cajun corn, and a Cajun hardboiled egg) and the 'Full Combo' (which is everything in the Lil Boss, but no lobster). I got their Full Combo, and it comes in a styrofoam box on top of parchment paper. The shrimp were shell-on, not deveined, but extremely large in size; the snowcrab was of one cluster and had a decent amount of meat within; the potato was of a halved Russet potato; about a 1/4-sized smoked sausage; the corn was half-sized; and, the hardboiled egg was of a whole one. The whole thing was drenched in Crab Boss's secret blend of spices, garlic, and butter sauce and of a good amount (don't forget to scoop the extra puddle that formulates at the bottom of the box, too!). I actually really enjoyed the sauce, as it was buttery, had a hint of garlic, and contained a good blend of seasoning - not spicy at all and the right amount of saltiness. The hardboiled egg was okay, and I did enjoy the smoked sausage and the perfectly-cooked skin-on potato. The shrimp was fresh, and the crab was good with a good amount of meat. I highly recommend in dipping the meats into the sauce more before eating! The corn was forgettable, as it was just not fresh and mushy. The portion is more than generous for 1 person, but can be divided up between two if you want to be nice :P Just note that these are made just hours before, but arrive in an ice box, so they are not ready-to-eat; you have to go home and reheat (it was recommended to just zap it in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds). It may be inconvenient for some, but it's nice to have that messy, finger-licking experience in the comfort of your own home and not standing outside and/or inside your car :D I was shocked that they they appeared up in Alexandria, so I was super excited! :D In addition, it's great to see that they have 3 mobiles, so the chances of getting to one semi-'closer' to you is higher. People tend to show up about 1-1.5 hours beforehand, and it is first-come, first-serve; however, people do not adhere to who 'came first,' as they usually just rush up to the parked mobile (it's a black pickup truck). The food does run out within 2 hours or less, so keep that in mind. Both cash and CCs are accepted. I'm actually a fan of Florida-style seafood, and I think you'll be, too - it is different and pretty delicious! It's worth the hype! You have to find the truck by stalking IG WEDS-SAT & most days the truck doesn't open shop until 8pm & after. This requires patience & diligence lol. The line will be super long even if you get there an hour early. The food is pre-made not fresh to order so you will have to take it home to re-heat. When reheating the paper in the box is NOT microwaveable. The portion size is just enough but for $26.50 they could do without the boiled egg no one wants and to replace it with extra corn or potato. A non pork sausage option should also be added but as a note I just traded hubby his corn for the sausage and all was right in the world :) The sauce is BOMB!!!!! It was plentiful and delicious and made chasing him around PG county for months worthwhile! The crab legs and shrimp were cooked perfectly even after being reheated in the oven and tasted very fresh and not previously frozen. In summary, be prepared to wait in line... But once he arrives the line moves super quickly. He may arrive to his posted destination late... IMHO 10 minutes tardiness was worth the wait for the platter and not a huge deal. This is a true gem that with minimal tweeking a couple things would be amazing but CrabBoss definitely did not disappoint! Check them out if they're in your area. I arrived at 6:30, he was already there with a nice line and passing out the goods. Everyone was good (not out of control like The Walking Dead trying to get seafood!), with his requirement of exact change, the line moves quickly and smoothly. Handed over the money, you're handed a plate! I had to shake the man's hand for such great marketing and product. Now on to the food---- Amazing seafood expectations: 5 STARS Platter full of amazing, robust seafood... legs, shrimp, egg, potato, sausage .. is a crab cake in there? Hot, steamy seafood Mind blowing seafood.. I'll have a seafoodgasm! What I got: 3.75-4 STARS A full combo-- which is a smaller platter size.. in between a half styrofoam box and what you'd get at let's say the carryout, panda express, the teriyaki joint.. the standard, but large size Styrofoam plate. This one falls between those. You get small legs (they have to fit in the box some how), large shrimp that's not deveined (I only eat deveined shrimp), egg, potato, sausage, small corn on the cob, NO crab cake. Everything was seasoned well and the shrimp would have been better seasoned if they were deveined! It's prepackaged and prepared ahead of time for the rush, so it's lukewarm. The sauce isn't all over the food like in the pics. It's was initially I suppose, but it melted off and it's all at the bottom. I found out half way through the plate. Wasn't a problem, just didn't expect it. I'm particular about my corn.. I don't need it super fresh, cutting my gums, but I don't like soft, mushy cobs that were frozen. This corn had the appearance that it would be soft and mushy from being frozen and processed, but it was pretty good. Overall, it's good, really good. His seasoning isn't too salty or totally bland like just butter, but just right. While I wouldn't mind getting it again, I've had seafoodgasms from other places.. You'll have to decide if chasing his food truck, standing in lines, paying top $$ for lukewarm but a really good plate is really worth it... it's cool I guess since the process wasnt as horrible as I had imagined. First time eating here, and both my husband and I got the Lil Boss Platter and a side of the seafood Mac & cheese. We were really excited to try the food, but we both were very underwhelmed! The seasoning on the food was very spicy, but bland. Neither of our plates came with any of the Crab Boss sauce, and the "fried rice" was more so like a bland tasting dirty rice. The mac and cheese had nice sized whole shrimp, but it was bland as well. On the positive side, when we picked up the food it was fresh and timely, and the customer service was good. The hush puppies were good, but I would suggest adding an option for customers to choose their spice level for the seafood (not just the option for no seasoning). Got home and was ready to dig in! Opened the container and remembered the food needed to be heated, it's definitely not ready to eat since its prepared in advance. Had 1 crab cluster, several shrimp, a small sausage, boiled egg, corn on the Cobb and a potato in my full combo. When I finally got to eat, the food was decent, but definitely not amazing like I see everyone always claim- maybe I'm a seafood snob. And honestly not a lot of seafood for the cost-you can go to the grocery store and get way more steamed crab legs for much less. However, he has overhead and I get it. Made it to the area to see what all the hoopla was about and if the food in the pictures I've seen on multiple time lines were going to live to the hype in person. First, I will say that timing is everything, because before making my way to Brandywine, I had seen a few posts regarding the length of the lines. My friend and I both got the star of the show...the Lil Nino. We were not into the pork sausage, but you are given an option to substitute for another side with no extra cost...and NO, you can't substitute for crab fries lol (idk why my friend tried to do this). The workers there were friendly, and I think the owner may have been there as well to oversee things. They top there entrees with a butter sauce and parsley, so yes the presentation was the same as the pictures. The lobster tail, shrimp and potato (half of a large russett potato)...the actual crab legs...sigh...the crab leg cluster was not as flavorful, sweet and buttery tasting as I'm used to. My local crab house has better crab legs. The crab cake was awesome, but I think they vary in size. My crab cake was substantially smaller than my friends'...not too happy about that. I believe someone mentioned the corn being underdone or something, but I agree...it was just corn. Maybe if they soak it in a sauce or something, it would be better tasting and the kernels wouldn't be as hard. Overall, they meet the hype, but it's just not worth the trip for me since it is not located very close. Now, I WILL be going back to try their crab fries and maybe their fish, but I'll stick with my usual crab house for my crab fix. Me and my gf ate here about 2 weeks ago. The next morning my gf woke up feeling horrible. Long story short I took her to the hospital because her symptoms were that bad. The first week of February 20, I went into this facility for the first time, upon arrival at the cash register, there was an employee standing behind the counter, there was a very strong odor of marijuana. Only thing I really like are the crab boss fries and the hush puppies. The crab legs were mediocre at best. They are also over priced. With so many other seafood spots in the area, you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere. I don't think the food is worth the price read more

Their online ordering and curb side pickup is very well organized. The food is plentiful and delicious!
