Hello, I finished this class about 2 weeks ago and will give you an in depth report on the class…read moreand how it went for me when I took it, I finished the class with an A, this class is not impossible, far from it, but you will need to commit to it if you want to succeed in it. (TDLR below) -IT IS FAST PACED- If you are looking for the fasted class to get in and get out, then this class is for you, if you need more time to learn things and get the hang of them, this class is not for you. ( most classes range from 4-6 months, this class is a little less than 3 months) -IT IS NOT EASY- This class is not an easy class, don't expect to be able to just skim over the chapter and come to class, you will need to put in the hours to learn the material. There are after hours almost everyday open to all the students who want to review tests, quizzes, need more help understanding a concept, ect. But you have to take those options, along with reading the chapters till you understand them, not just expecting it to be covered in class. -THIS CLASS WILL PREP YOU FOR THE NREMT- This classes final exam is much harder then the NREMT. The quizes you will take in the class are each exceptionally hard, but don't worry they do not account for much on your grade average, they are there to show you what areas you need to improve on, as well as showing you ways the NREMT will try to trick you. I averaged about a 75% on quizzes and still made a 90% in the entire class. -GRADING- There are a many reviews for this academy saying the grading matrix is too hard, its really not, you can afford to fail almost every quiz, score a 75% on half the exams, and still pass the class, the grading matrix is set up to give you a ton of leeway for the harder parts of the class. As long as you do your homework and read the chapters, you can pass. They give you 2 retakes for the exams in case you fail, extra credit, and tell you what will be on the exams. My class started with 30 people, about 15 finished the course, those who did not finished failed out for one of two reasons, attendance or not studying/doing the homework. Only 3 people who failed out for grades were actually trying in the class and needed extra help, the rest either A were not reading the chapters well, or B not going to office hours or using the help given to them, most were both. !!!--Every person who read the chapters and showed up to office hours (with the exception of 1 or 2 people) passed the class, even those who were struggling, failing every quiz, used both of their retakes, and didn't grasp the content very well, passed the class. tdlr USE THE RESOURCES GIVEN TO YOU, YOU WILL BE FINE IF YOU DO SO. those who didnt failed out and left 1 star reviews saying the class was too hard--!!! You are given an absolute ton of information and material to help you pass the class in the website they give you access to when you enroll into he class, you will need to use it, they have study guides for every quiz, exam, and final for the class along with any piece of information you will need to know to get through the class. TDLR. If you cannot give the this class 2 or 3 hours a day to study, cant show up to office hours and read the chapters, do not take this class, take an easier one. If you can and you really want a quick class that will set you up for paramedic school or straight into NREMT then into a job, then you will benefit from this class. --Over all I loved the class and would recommenced it to anyone who want to go straight into paramedic school or into a job.-- Below are areas the class can improve on, and things to look out for if you decide to take this class. 1. There are like 20 instructors who each teach he class differently, some just read from the power point, others compare the material to what you will find in the field, some skip the entire power point entirely to focus on skills, some care a lot about the students and will go an extra mile for them, some genuinely don't give a sh*t about them, some are very kind, others are rude and apathetic. You don't know who or what type of teacher you will get with each day, that was a common complaint in the class, it was too difficult to follow along with the content when each day someone new was presenting it in their own new way. There needs to be more uniformity to the teaching styles, I scored the best on exams and quizzes when Aimee or Tito went over the content, and scored the worst on Exams and quizzes when Roxanne taught. Don't let instructors skip half of the lecture because they don't feel like covering it *cough* Roxanne *cough*. 2. Move patient assessment skills to both the beginning of class and the end. Students need a mental template of how patient interactions will go when they start the class because the book teaches them the material in a way centered around signs and symptoms found in patient assessment. Along with having a few assessment scenarios that are acted out in person.

I had some questions so I emailed the instructor/owner Greg. He answered my questions promptly and was nice on the phone. I got off work early to leave for the class. When I arrived I was surprised the location was a house in Round Rock, for some reason I had assumed it would be a business. Either way, I went to the door. I knocked, I rang, no answer. I tried calling Greg, emailing Greg, no answer. He ditched out, never showed up, never called me back. I found another number through the Email AHA had sent me for the class, and talked with Jana at Savaheart. Even though she had nothing to do with Greg except training him to begin with, she apologized profusely for his behavior. She informed this wasn't the first time this had happened. Apparently Greg is a fire fighter and if a shift opened he would just ditch out on class because fire fighting paid better. He might be a nice guy in person, but he wasted my time, and this is an inexcusable business practice. Don't waste your time!!!! Sign up with someone else!!!

I don't want this to be all bad. She was a great teacher with good intentions but I think the classes are a secondary or tertiary focus. If you want great training and can give all day to walking around and wondering when she'll notice you then Go! Following up I think she is an expert and doesn't realize what she's doing as far as time management goes the texting and talking on the phone every 5 minutes. So great review for nursing intelligence, experience, education. I am definitely disappointed in the time she spent on her phone and meal prepping for her fitness comp than what I thought I was paying for. I felt like an afterthought. I would have paid $500-1k more for her to put her damn phone down. Still she is great so I won't discount her work. I expected more from my experience.

My son has never complained about anything and actually asks if I can let him go to Stepping Stone instead of being an early pick-up on days that I get off work early. I sent him to the 'Y" summer camp this year. They have a lower cost and more activities, such as paintball, daily swim, rock climbing, gaga ball, etc.. Even with all of this, after several weeks my son didn't like it as much since they were outside for almost the entire day and he said he missed his old friends. We had previous problems with her getting diaper rashes because she was being kept in poopy diapers for a long time, this was becoming more manageable since she is currently potty training but if you have a young child that will likely be an issue, I changed her diaper myself at the school multiple times at pick up because of the state I found her in. Beware!! Would NOT recommend this school to anyone!

I had to send my daughter there because of the proximity from where I live. But I would say driving a lit longer and have your kids in a safe school with management/owner who sincerely value their customers is well invested and worth it. That being said, still I am giving that place one star while it deserves none, only because of Catarina, the admission coordinator. She is the sweetest person ever.

They clearly loved our children and were invested in their growth and development. My son especially loved the animals and affectionately called it "goat school". He transferred there in Pre-K and his teachers were so patient and supportive as he adjusted to a new envirornment. Our daughters started as an infant and was cared for with kindness, capability, and love. We can't recommend Emerson Academy enough!

The team is lead by Ms. Mistie who is a wonderful Director and always works to make sure parent's are informed and know their children are in safe hands. The front office team is always smiling and communicates with you and as the first and last faces your kids see each day become as important as the teachers. The teachers are all off-duty firemen, and it makes the class engaging for them to be able to share their real-world experiences about how they are actually using CPR. He included some suggestions for defense that I had not even considered, believing (mistakenly) that they were illegal. He provided me with resources for materials and services which complemented the training, and made sure I understood how and when to use them. He was patient and answered questions completely. You may have complete confidence that you will understand your rights and responsibilities when you leave. I do think, however, that he was a little surprised that an old, fat guy with one leg in a wheelchair could black out the X ring with a puny little 9mm in less than 20 rounds.

There were quite a few options available, so I looked for a local Austin (well, Leander) based business to support. I signed up for the LTC Austin online course to keep myself busy during the current Stay-at-Home order. The courses were thorough and easy to navigate. I really appreciated being able to do it on my own time, rather than sitting in a classroom for 5 hours like I had to do in Florida. It was a great refresher for a lot of basics and coming from another state, I found the coverage of Texas specific laws incredibly valuable, having seen many of the signs posted around town already. They have a partnership with Shady Oaks Gun Range in Cedar Park that I plan on scheduling my LTC Proficiency Demonstration with as soon as they are able to start booking them again.
