This review is only for their FIRST AID certification- I was looking around for a place to complete my first aid certification. I was glad to find out that you do not need to register prior nor do you need to make a reservation to attend class. It is on a walk-in basis and you just need to sign in. Once you get inside the room, the instructor gives you instructions to sign in and fill out a paper and an envelope. I gave them a check for $44 for standard first aid. If you're working with children, you must get the pediatric first aid (also $44) and it is the same instruction, but supposedly you just get a different card. The class says it is for four hours, but the instructor breezes by the lecture and it was done before I knew it. The center itself is a little small and it is not a normal classroom except for there being a whiteboard in the front of the classroom. There were lots of CPR dummies on the floor scattered everywhere and we sat in white lawn chairs. The instructor was a guy who was monotone and tried to be funny, but I was beginning to be really sleepy. All in all, you get what you pay for. In & out with your cert! I wasn't looking forward to having to get this certification; however, Michael was a wonderful instructor and he made it worthwhile. He didn't just teach the facts-- he gave real life examples that would help me remember what I would need to know. I got something out of it, so thank you Michael! I took CPR/first Aid here and it was the best decision! I have taken CPR classes in the past where they just talk at you the entire time. Jeff made sure to get everyone involved and was happy to answer any questions we had (even if they were stupid questions). The class flew by and he kept us laughing the whole time. This place is great! I found it after looking at fellow Yelp reviews and did some research before going, as I was a first-time CPR learner. It was affordable (cheaper than the City's classes and some local Christian organizations). The CPR class size was small (there were 5 other students, and I took it on a weekday at 9am) which made it easy to listen to and see the instructor. Our instructor, Michael, was great! He had a slightly dry sense of humor, but overall he is quite positive, funny, and helpful. I was not bored during the instruction. He also gave real world/common scenarios when using CPR, which were helpful and made me feel more prepared. I am excited to take the First Aid class in a week or two, during their weekend session. Some tips if you are looking to go here: *Plan to allow an extra 5-10 minutes for parking and navigating and read directions on their website. I ignored the website and relied on google maps/my gps which had me go in strange circles around the building. Luckily, I still arrived a few minutes early, but I cut it pretty close! *Bring paper for notes. I wanted to write down every single thing that he said, because that is how I commit them to memory. This review is for the preventative health and safety course required for child care providers at all levels. The content of subject was a wealth of information on paper/hand out. The instructor, who is an RN could've been more lively. She sat down the through the course of presentation n was av few minutes late to open the door. I understanding having to read through the hand out with the class a to ensure no information was missed, but lack of examples and spontaneous delivery made it a long night. I also was not convinced she's familiar or experienced w running daycare. I could be wrong with this, but it didn't seem so. I will stress that if you were there just to get information and certificate (I will discuss this portion further) as your bottom line, hence it will suffice. Upon initial contact with UTC, more than likely, the owner, Ann Limpscomb(sorry if misspelled), will contact you. The calls I have made have 100% of the time has gone to voice mail. She will call you back. Initial and conversations there after she will state that she is the only EMSA certified trainer in the area. This is not true. The cost I paid was $88.00. (Elsewhere$70 or below) I took this course all the way in Irvine, in the evening for two days in February 2017. In the middle of the second day of class, it was announced, by the RN instructor that UTC is waiting reapproval of certification as a training site. This means, NO sticker or certificate will b handed out at the end of the course. We were given the option to complete the course and wait for the sticker to arrive in the mail. No specific time frame was given as they do not know either. She hinted that it could take up to a month. This was understandable. We were also informed that it was bc there is only one person in the state working on the pile of approved centers. Ok, understood. We all decided to stay as we all have invested time, gas and money already 3/4 of the way to finishing. Long story short, on the eve of July 3, 2017, I received a reimbursement check as well as explanation that they are still waiting...No change in story. This is what has upset me besides time and etc mentioned. It took 6 mos for them to say anything. I was already done w application process and pre licensing visit. This held me up! I of course called her, and " left message" that this was a lack of responsibility n consideration on their part. No reply, nor was I expecting any. Regardless of only one man in the state working on this, training sites are given at least 6 miss reminder that your site is up for renewal. Requirements and guidelines is included in the reminder what is needed for submission. After 6 mos reminder, as it gets closer, another reminder will be sent. I have worked closely w FDA and other local and diff states legal organizations in medical field and have over 25 years of regulations and policies hands on working knowledge. For UTC to have renewal not prepared in a timely manner, and to be waiting over 6 mos, there was something amiss on their part. I am disappointed. Make sure this is already on hand if you plan to take this course with UTC. Otherwise ok place read more

This was my first time ever becoming CPR (infant, child, and adult), AED, and First Aid certified. I had training in the military but never officially certified. The class was great, the teacher, Josh, was hilarious (which made the class fly by), and he was very professional! Thank you for coming to the IE Premier Aquatics! You have competitive pricing ($25 less than American Red Cross) and I cannot wait to see you bring an aquatics facility to the area so my kids can learn to swim! read more
