Kristine is awesome, genuine, and great at what she does. (5 stars) She instructed the class very well and took into consideration everyone's needs and comfort zones. I was there with one other person for the class. I had a great experience and I feel confident with the instruction I received. The training was concise (more than 2 hours I didn't really keep track of time), a lot shorter than what I heard about CPR classes (5 hours). We also connected on a deeper level because we shared stories about our medical past. We are all survivors of something. The class was started on time because she wanted to respect our effort of showing up on time on a Sunday. Much appreciated. Side note to you know who you are: Don't go complaining to the receptionist who pics up the phone that you arrived at 9:50 am for the 10 o' clock class and the place was locked and no one let you in. Yes it was locked but I was sitting outside on the bench and walked towards the building at 9:48, I was talking to another attendee for at least 5 min before we were let in. We didn't even start until 10:05 because Kristine was waiting for any "stragglers." You were not there at 9:50, unless you have the invisibility cloak and decided not to step in when the door was opened. Don't lie, own up to your .... No one respects people like you. Location was a little confusing (took class same day as review), however it does have a GIANT 1524 on it so you can't miss that. It is the Spectrum building with the Dental Laboratories on the front. And NO the reception desk is not associated with Safety First CPR. Unless you're the scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz, who doesn't have a brain, you can figure out that the building does not belong to them and they lease a room. I was texted the address by the receptionist and didn't receive any other correspondence. I was supposed to receive an invoice and notification but that never happened. Had previously been trained by instructor Kristine & had such a great experience that when it was time to renew, had my daughter & husband take the CPR & 1st aid class, too. Obviously, instructor was knowledgeable and is up to date on changes with procedures. She covered a variety of situations and reminded me the need to put safety first, especially when taking trips and being more prepared to manage crisis at home. Kristine had a great way of engaging and sharing the necessary info that 3 hours went by quickly! She made uncomfy situations inclusive and respected comfort of each participant. Definitely expect to get a bit out of your comfort zone to really learn. There's plenty of hands on learning. Facility was clean & relaxing. Lots of attendees this day but it didn't feel crowded at all. Check out the line up to get a sense how large the class was and yet we still got individualized attention. Ample parking spaces. This place is a fucking joke! I'm so pissed off that I didn't listen to my fellow yelpers. I came early to check in so I wouldn't be late and I couldn't find the place. Well I'm not good with numbers so I just chalked it up to being not good with numbers. But the address they provide is so vague that I would never think of walking into a dental office and then ask to be shown to suite 4! The building clearly is marked 1524 but there is no suite 4 on any of the doors of the building!!!! I finally decided to ask the dental girl at the front desk if she knows where the CPR place is and she says it's down the hall. My question is why does the door say dental office???!!!! I called 7 times and emailed to see if someone could help me locate this room, no luck. I always try to be positive about things but this place just sucks!!!!! Very poor customer service.. I've been calling them for 3 days straight and nobody can help me answer my questions. One lady said she's going to call me right back and she never did. Other lady just hang up on me, and the other one said to call back in an hour..hmm may I know the reason why? So finally a lady picked up the phone and told me that I can register online and pay for it or she can take my credit card number and she will register me. Lols. Never mind. You get what you pay for here - or in this case DON'T get. First of all, I called several times and left voice messages with no returned calls. The email on their website bounced, so it took me almost a month just to schedule a class. They texted me an address with a suite number (which is different than the address on their website, that does not exist anymore as I found out). Upon arriving on time, I bumped into three other women looking for the class. The suite number was nowhere to be found and there were no signs or anything. After nearly half an hour of searching, I saw a CPR class taking place through a window and flagged down the instructor. Even though she said she was done teaching the CPR portion (which apparently only took 20 minutes) she refused to let us into the class because "we weren't on time." This was extremely frustrating as we had all been given bad directions - one woman even was told a different suite number than me. It turns out the building it was located in was locked and we couldn't enter anyways. I drove an hour to this facility only to be turned away due to THEIR lack of organization. Don't waste your time with this place - go somewhere reputable like Red Cross. read more

Just had my CPR & First Aid class this morning with Andy and Kristine. Both instructors were super helpful and the course went by pretty quick. We had a smaller class, which was nice because the class felt more personal and we were able to get direct feedback from the instructors. The only suggestion I would make is having more AEDs available so that more people get to try using them. Took the CPR/First Aid class today at Safety First CPR and it was the most informative, fun and intuitive class I'd taken. The instructor got everyone involved engaged and explained every questions everyone had. I was surprised with so much information being taught, the instructor broken the training into smaller segments and made it easy to understand. They have the latest and best manikins with light indicators to help you know how much pressure you need to push in order to perform the correct chest compression. From performing CPR on an adult, child and small infants. I now know what to do and the correct way to do it in case of an emergency. Not only knowing how to help others but also how to protecting yourself while helping. I highly recommend Safety First CPR for anyone that needs training in CPR, First Aid and AED certification! read more

This was the second CPR class I've ever been a part of and I have to say that it was such an amazing experience. Kristine was super relatable and funny! She was so knowledgeable and was able to answer all of the questions that were asked. I loved the way that she explicitly explained real life situations and why each tool was crucial for the job. Took a class over a month ago, at the time the printer was missing a wire so they couldn't print it. They supposedly printed one and sent it to my house - which I never got (conveniently probably got lost in the mail). Contacted them 3 week ago to inform them I haven't received it and the importance of needing it. They said it'll take a while to make a new one, so 2 weeks ago, I asked if I can pick it up and they said they would FedEx it to me so I wouldn't have to drive back there to get it because I've moved far for school. And guess what, I still don't have it! I called today and texted the person that should be handling this and I had no response. Thanks to them I'm missing my clinical rotation that should have been tomorrow. I'm probably going to have to shell out more money and time to take another cpr class soon. So to summarize: this is a quick and cheap class, but what's the point when you DO NOT get a cpr card, because these people don't give a damn about their students once they have your money. Absolutely Horrible tried to do a class on Thursday, was so excited because I have to have it done by Monday, I get a call a half an hour before the class to tell me that the class was full and that I couldn't be in it... well then why was I charged and had a confirmation. I then called them to tell them that if I could I wanted to sit outside and if someone didn't show up I could get in.. never got a reply then I got an email thanking me for coming to the class and they hope I had a good time.... not so much I reluctantly decided to give them one more chance because I could lose my job if my first aid lapses. I even asked for work off so that I could get this done.... I get a call 1 hr before class saying that there was no instructor to teach the class and he could get me in NEXT FRIDAY.. are you kidding me this is the 2nd time they have cancelled and I may lose my job lucky me I chose the wrong company to deal with... will update if anything is done about it!!!!! read more

I came to Safety First CPR to attain my certification as required by my employer. I've never taken a first aid/cpr course and had absolutely no idea what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised when I arrived. My class that day was small, so I knew we would do a lot of one on one coursework. Our instructor, Jimmy, was very knowledgeable and welcoming. He answered questions with clarity and explained everything thoroughly. Like many other yelpers on here already stated... SHE DOES NOT ANSWER THE PHONE. I have been trying to contact her for over a month to get a new card to send to me and she never follows through. I don't understand why this is so hard to do. You are billed 25 dollars to send a piece of plastic through the mail when most companies send them through email for free but this task is apparently to difficult to do. I will most likely need to spend more money somewhere else even though I am apparently already certified. I needed to find a place to get my CPR certification to continue leading climbing trips in the Sierras fast and did not want to pay a ton to do it. After looking on yelp and calling around I went with Safety First CPR. They offer classes several times a week and were able to get me in a class with only a few days notice. Their prices are great and the quality of the class far exceeded my expectations. Jimmy, our instructor, was friendly and very knowledgeable. In addition to the great personnel, every student gets their own adult and infant dummy to practice CPR techniques which makes it so everyone in the class can get a lot of hands on practice in a short period of time. Kristine (the owner) really went out of her way to provide good customer service after they misunderstood what CPR class I needed. In other words, they placed me in a regular CPR class rather than the one certified by the American Heart Association. Therefore, I'd advise to be clear on what you need. Jimmy, the trainer, on the other hand was a bit rude as he was irritated by the whole confusion (while it wasn't really my fault for them to place me in the wrong class). Hello future yelp searchers. I am writing this in the moment as this just happened to us today. Take into account this was truly frustrating because of the lack of communication and accuracy on their part. I want to start off by saying that the staff or whoever is in charge of the information(address )that's being delivered needs to be updated or more specific. Not just in the email that they send you as the confirmation but even when you search it online, they give you two different addresses. My boss and I struggled to find the place as we came 30 minutes before class(our class starts at 9 a.m.). After searching and walking around, we found our way into the building and found the information(a picture that I will also post) which is the directory. No one was at the front desk. I stood there for about 5-7 minutes and no one was there to help. I had to ask a lady that walked out of the restroom and she found someone to help me. (Take into account no one was still at the front desk to help). Then once we do find the room, (you walk two different hallways to get there), and the door is locked. We knocked patiently waiting there for 10 minutes standing outside the door and the instructor clearly refused to let us in(as we heard people in the room). It is upsetting because we paid for this class and we got there way before but struggled to find it due to their vague and misleading information plus their lack of communication as we contacted them several times and NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE! We even left voice messages and still no response. Please take this into consideration when looking to take a first aid and CPR class here as our overall experience was absolutely frustrating, waste of our time and money. No one should have to hunt down the place nor a person just to get the accurate information. Thank you for taking the time to read this and hope you find a better CPR class. Unfortunately I have to give this place a star but if there was a negative star, that would be more satisfying. I'd like to save you from a frustrating experience but to each their own. You get your certificate card same day and it's a hands on class! When I went to my class some people did not show up, she allowed a 15 min wait time for them, and continued with class anyways, and did not cancel or reschedule like most CPR classes will do(which benefited me anyways because I had a more one on one experience). She made the class very easy, simple, and informative. I have more confidence with my knowledge and skills of performing CPR. Kristine is the best instructor!! I noticed someone mentioned "the 5 star reviews are only because she gave a free keychain..." not true. I have been in Medical field since 2004 so I have been renewing my CPR certificate every 2 year but never had such a practical and informative class as the one that I took with this company this Saturday. My instructor Jimmy was very friendly and since he have had his hands on in medical field as an EMT was amazing and gave us real scenario to work on. I have never been as ready as I am right now to perform a CPR . They also had practical manikin that would show you if you are compressing hard and fast enough so you can correct your performance. I've been coming to this company since 2014, I've renewed my CPR and First aid every 2 years. I love this company. I also love the fact I am able to bring my child with me. As a single mom it is hard to do anything if I can't bring my child. The lady has always been soo nice. Ppl are nice a friendly! And all you companying about the Location and u went to a different that's because there was a hardship in the company this year, old owner passed and now there is a new one. They have been relocated. Not a big issue sometimes we have to considerate with situations. I've never had a problem with the company. read more

This place really SUCKS, I made an appointment today to get First Aid Certified and paid my $39 dollars through their website, I show up to the time I chose from their website as well and no one was there. I waited for 40 minutes for someone to open the door, and no one ever showed up, I called various times and no one answered the phone. It was my first time ever as I needed to learn and be educated about CPR and First Aid Safety. I arrived for my class and was greeted by Kristine. Contrary to a few misleading reviews below, Safety First CPR is an excellent business. I called to schedule an appointment and was immediately booked at a convenient time for me. I showed up to my course and there was coffee, snacks and refreshments readily available. My instructor Jimmy was excellent and moved the class along articulately and effectively. My certification card was immediately handed to me after my course. Most certification classes seem like a waste of time, but after Safety First's class I feel more skilled and armed for the real world. I would recommend Safety First CPR to the medical professional, the businessman or even a teen working their first job. Safety First CPR is the best choice for your certification. read more

The drive there for me was ridiculous but I urgently needed my ACLS renewed so i was desperate. I was recommended to Safety first by my agency. At first, i had some difficulty connecting and communicating with them via telephone and online. I later found out that they are a small company and are not always in the office to answer the phone. Once i arrive there it was smooth sailing. Prices are reasonable. They tailor the teaching to your needs so you don't have to seat through the whole program. That was nice, i was able to beat the rush hour.
