Well mannered , knowledgeable about the menu , sincere all well moving with a purpose. He treated us a lonely table of 2 like we were his only priority well simultaneously handling a 10 , 4 and 6 top. We sat in the side dining room facing the kitchen pass. We watched 6 pros handle business. Minimal words just chin gestures and some pointing. Some serious heat was moving thru that kitchen being passed to runners that kept that fire alive calling for garnish extra sauce and accoutrements as if it was Orchestra.Food was phenomenal. Egregious portions. Flavors layer. Sweet salty fatty creamy one after another nothing standing too far out or too far behind. The spice in the seafood dish was about right to let you know it was there but not over stay it's welcome. Plump seafood with a clean finish. We shared a bite with each other and went for seconds. The dessert a catcher's mitt size of chunk of old style ricotta cheese cake. Mind you all this was happening when they were serving a wedding of 50 in the back room. Two cons. The a/c wasn't working it was a little warm. I won't harp too much on that we had extreme weather the day prior. Number 2 . Truffle oil. The table next to us ordered truffle fries. We smelt it , the table on the far side of us smelt it. Truffle oil is so strong you can smell it on your clothes the next day.

Even though it was a little loud, it was a great night until we left. I scraped my leg on the platform for musicians - it wasn't well marked. Blood was running down my leg and the hostesses couldn't find a bandage. It took 15-20 minutes to talk to the manager. I suggested she get a first-aid kit for the front desk.

So when we needed a dinner location in the Brick, I figured we would try this location. Upon my early arrival, I was seated in the west facing room with ample natural light. There was only one other table of "early birds" nearby and they were loud but entertaining. Our waitress greeted me and brought some water and an ice bucket. I perused the menu while waiting for my friends. To my delight, this place is MUCH larger than Manahawkin. There are at least three rooms. Regardless, by the time we left, it was very busy. reservations are highly recommended. When my friends arrived, our waitress reviewed the menu additions. We decided on the oysters, octopus, arugula salad and the cod special. Everything was excellent. Service and pace were perfect. Plates promptly cleared, bread replentished. We shared a tiramisu and I had a double expresso. We will definitely return. I will take some photos on my next visit.

We all sat in one of the side rooms so the noise wouldn't be overbearing. Cara was an excellent experienced server. The entrées were excellent with the accompanying soups. The Buratta was tangy and sweet with raspberry sauce combined with arugula. They now can sell wines. Their sangria was nice and savory.

When the delivered food wasn't quite right, she quickly got a replacement. She is a wonderful server and has been there for years. Live band was really good today. Overall, we think the food (we've had fish tacos and cheesesteaks) is even better this year. Their french fries are to die for--you're crazy if you don't get them. Only downside is the greatly increased price of the lump crab, but I guess that's economic reality.

The waitress handled herself with such grace and kindness after the man continued to give her a hard time. Later, I listened as he requested for her to ask the manager to take off a percentage for him being he was a veteran. After she walked away, they started laughing and the one guy said, you're too much. It was clear that he wasn't being honest. He certainly wasn't a veteran and sadly the couple we were with has a son serving in the military. Unfortunately, this man took advantage of this opportunity and I was upset to see that someone would lie about serving our country. I did compliment the waitress for handling that table with dignity after being treated so poorly. She did say they honored a 10% off discount for him and it wasn't warranted because he lied. Kudos to your wait staff for dealing with rude customers and liars.

I ordered the burger, which was pretty big and juicy. The fries were nice and crispy as well. For dessert, we got the banana dulce de leche gelato and ice cream cookie sandwiches. The gelato was so unique and rich. The ice cream cookie sandwiches were perfect for me and I loved the side of Nutella with nuts on top which added a nice crunch. Their commitment to hospitality beats most restaurants I've ever visited. In our reservation, I noted that we were celebrating a birthday. When we were sat at the table, a birthday card was waiting for my mom. Our waitress Bailey was so nice and accommodated my mom's request to not draw too much attention to the celebration. I also adore the atmosphere in 618. The lighting is so elegant with the many chandeliers and the flowers on the walls. 618 has easily become a top restaurant for me.

Very cool that Venue 618 was the only NJ restaurant to make the recent Yelp Top 100 restaurants in the US. Sitting at the bar, we were served by Zoey, Steve, and Mike. They've re-done their cocktail menu to include beautiful color illustrations. I enjoyed "One in a Melon," a well-balanced whiskey cocktail with Frank August small batch bourbon, melon, poblano pepper, Aperol, and lime. This was followed by a tasty whiskey sour. My wife ordered a Lemon Drop martini, followed by a decadent chocolate-pistachio dessert martini. All of the cocktails were well-balanced and delicious. On the food side, I munched on a baked macaroni & cheese with chorizo. It was perfect! The Death of Hospitality brand thrives on personalization and unexpected surprises. Mixologist Steve, realizing that I'm a whiskey afficionado, surprised me with a small pour of Rock Hill Farms Single Barrel bourbon. This is a difficult bottle to find in New Jersey. Rock Hill Farms was incredible, with a super long finish. Thanks for the memories 618!
