The side dishes of their rice, seasoned potatoes, and macaroni salad are not seen anywhere else. Specialty drinks are well done although I prefer a cold pint of Modelo. The desserts are rotating on what is available but they are all made fresh there and authentic and amazing. The salsa and hot sauces are made daily and totally unique. You want hot- they have one that will hurt you lol. Guacamole is fresh and best ordered with the pico de gallo mixed in.. chips are much better than the typical offerings. This is truly a family restaurant, the owner and his wife and his boys are there to serve you and they do their best everyday. You may wait longer here, but I know my food is cooked fresh to order and with love every time we go there and that is worth it to me. There aren't steam trays of heated foods in back or an assembly line. Service is great but please be patient. I have seen it busy and it can be overwhelming as they are very tightly staffed- just raise your hand like you are in school and they will get you, but please be kind. I have seen people that truly do not understand how hard any foodservice business is, and I know this family is doing their best. Ambiance is perfect for what I realistically expect, this isn't fine dining or a new fancy building. But it is clean and in good working order. The other option I always order when here is a variation of different wings that they make. They have a full pool table, a dart machine, and a nice side small patio outside. The bathrooms are very small and cramped, but usually pretty clean. Unlike many other dive bars in this town, this one everyone is and does feel welcome here with the friendly service and atmosphere of the regular customers.
