It's been over eight years since my signs were first installed, so I thought I'd provide an update. 1. Scooter stands by his work. The reds on my outdoor signs faded, and when I called him to discuss, he came out to see the work, patiently explained to me about the chemistry involved in paint, and the new EPA regulations that affect pigment, especially reds, and then redid the signs AT NO CHARGE. 2. Scooter is diligent. Sometimes it seems to me that he works slower than I would be on a project, but I am a bit of a slapdash, and he is not. The work gets done, sometimes slower than one would expect, but it is done to an extremely high standard, and (see #1) if not, he stands by his work. 3. For the quality of the work, he is quite reasonable. Sure you can go to a sign franchise and get machine produced stuff, but there is a difference. Ultimately will your customer notice the difference between fine artisan quality work and something from FASTSIGNS? Who knows, but you sure will when you open your shop every day. I am a small business that sells artisanal products, so it's important to me that all of my collateral reflect that. Your business might be different... 4. In reading the one and two star reviews, the complaints seem to be that Scooter is a bit uncommunicative when it comes to complaints and timelines. I've never found him to be so, and he is always accurate with his estimates of time and cost, and when he couldn't meet a deadline, he let me know. He's as honest as the day is long; but he does march to the beat of a slightly slower drummer than some of us. read more

Took my signage to do some minor work. He stopped responding to my emails in 10/2019 and has never returned my property. Stay away!

We needed a sign for our non-profit school. We paid $600 design fees for a sign design fall 2021 and then a $2,632 deposit on the sign agreed upon in winter 2021. We still have no signage. Countless calls and emails go unanswered. We have no choice and are having to file with small claims court. Horrible treatment for any customer and truly disruptive for a small nonprofit serving children. read more

Excellent service and he went above and beyond my expectations. I'm hella satisfied. Giving five stars because it won't let me give more.

I figured I should write an update since my earlier review was five years ago. Scooter has done about 6 signs for us since my review back in 2007. The most recent one was a complicated cutout of the letters of our logo. It looks *gorgeous* in the lobby. The one before that was a crazy idea - our logo cut in metal. The letters and the logo look like a million bucks but were really quite inexpensive. I will continue to go to Scooter for all of my sign needs. read more

Scooter Rules! He's easy to work with, fun to talk to and he makes excellent ready to apply signs. Thanks again! My friends at Gaming Collection & Toys love their sign. read more

Scooter was great to work with- I sent him a terrible mockup of what I wanted and he turned it into something wonderful. I really appreciate that he took care to use recycled and eco-friendly materials when he could. The sign was displayed outdoors in extreme weather and held up beautifully. read more

Scooter Rocks!!! He did a great job on our sign. He helped flesh out the initial concept, got everything ordered up, and the install went really smoothly. I also was impressed that his final numbers were actually less than his initial quote. If you need a sign or some graphics, then Scooter is the one to call. I'll be using him again for our graphics and signage needs in the future. read more

AVOID THIS VENDOR AT ALL COSTS! The guy who runs this business is a rip-off artist. He came to my offices in April of 2016 and gave me a quote for $2000+ to produce my signage. I sent him a $1000 check as a deposit. He gave many excuses over the months as to why he couldn't complete the work, even though we had a contract. His back was out, he was busy caring for someone, etc. To this date I have not had any signage produced! He either failed to answer my emails and phone calls, or he wrote an excuse. Most recently, he put me off once again, saying that he did not have enough cash flow and would get a refund to me when he had more $, even though I knew from another source that he was working on some big jobs and apparently making lots of money. I guess it's time for small claims court. My patience has run out. read more

Scooter rocks! He's done all our outdoor signage and window stenciling at both Kasa Indian Eatery restaurants (www.kasaindian.com). Yelp link here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/kasa-indian-eatery-san-francisco. We've had his sign up at our first location for almost two years now, and it's holding up great. When it was time to do the sign for our second location, I got a bunch of bids from other vendors because I had forgotten how much I paid Scooter. His sign was so beautiful that I figured I overpaid like I did on many things my first time around :) Turns out I paid less than I had remembered. Scooter once again came back with a competitive bid and delivered stunningly beautiful signs for us. I can't recommend Scooter highly enough! read more

Sorry Scooter that i have to do this to you, but yelp was where i found you and worked with you. OK here are the negative things.. _ i called Scooter to see if he could finish my sign before the grand opening day. He promised that it would be done before that (I provided the logo). He took the money and didn't finished that job. I had to email and called him several times to make sure that he would keep his word.. Finally he emailed me back and said he couldn't get it done on time.. YEAH, he wanted the money right the way and didn't delivery his words. So finally he just put the outline to make it looked we had something on our window for the grand opening day. _ Then, took him almost two weeks to finish the rest. and when he did it, he did my address number wrong.. _ Then he promised that he would come to fix it right the way, but took him another two weeks to do so. ( So we confused my customers, the UPS guy, the mail man and my neighbors... by wrong address number)... Bottom line is that his price is not cheap, didn't do the work as promised, all the five stars on yelp might be fake..... Sorry Scooter, you knew that this was going to happen. you knew that i would rate you on yelp because that where i found you... OOOPS, i forgot to ask what the warranty was for the sign,, maybe after you read this rating, you would not fix my sign if anything happen.. read more

I needed a sign for a public venue at an outdoor festival. I had ideas, but not a full design. Scooter took my needs and ideas and turned them into a great design. Along the way, there was great communication. E.g. when I told him I wasn't sure how I could light the sign, he added reflective letters to the plan. Once I displayed the sign, several neighbor venues and even passers by commented on the quality of the sign materials and design. As designed, it held up to weather, as well as the lurchings of intoxicated revelers. Well done! read more

I found Scooter on Yelp and because of all the rave reviews and only one bad review, I was certain he was the guy to do a fabulous sign for my business. This was furthest from the truth and he caused me so much distress and upset. I initially contacted Scooter who was initially very responsive on the phone and emails but once I sent him my $600 deposit, he disappeared! After several emails and phone calls the first time, he eventually got back to me with the excuse that he had this HUGE project that financially took precedence over mine. Fine, against my better judgment, I forgave him after he said he really wanted to do my job and that the design would be completed within a week's time. I gave him 2 weeks at which time, no response to my several emails and several phone calls. No response, NOTHING! What did I have to do to get my money back from an irresponsible person who really could care less about my project? I had to physically go to his home and get my money back. I was a very good, understanding client who never bullied or reprimanded him. I honestly do not know why he treated me this way but I am very suspicious about all these good reviews. He was the most unprofessional individual I have ever worked with. Oh, and this was going on for 4 months! Really Scooter? read more

I recently purchased a business for which Scooter had designed and made the exterior signage over a year ago. His original design was terrific. When I purchased the business I needed to have the sign updated and the prior business owner got me in touch with Scooter. Scooter was prompt, responsive, communicated clearly with me, and revised the sign for a very reasonable fee. read more

I hired Scooter after finding him on Yelp and I couldn't be happier! We were looking for one sign with a pretty simple design that we could get quickly. It took one or two emails with him before he sent us a price quote. We had our sign in about three weeks, but it was delayed on our end because the design team was going back and forth. Once we finalized a design, Scooter got the sign done and up in less than a week. He was always available, responded promptly, and was professional through every step of the process. We will definitely be going back to him in the future, and would recommend him to anyone in the Bay Area! read more

Scooter came to my rescue quickly with an AWESOME sign for my new store Pawsture. Not only did he deliver a great sign as pormised, but he took time to work with me and explain the ins and outs of "signage". As a small business owner the help was much appreciated. If you need a sign, give Scooter a call. read more
