This complex a hidden gem on a street full of apartment complexes. They are cat friendly, which we loved, being that we have 2 cats. I would highly recommend you check it out. The management is lovely and everything has always run smoothly with us, including quick turnaround time with any maintenance requests, though we have had very few.

But it's a cat-friendly place and is one of the better-priced complexes in the area. If you can tolerate the stress of feeling watched by the owner and getting notices threatening eviction over minor (or even fabricated!) issues, then it'll be fine. We lost many nights of sleep and spent days hating living there because of the vibe of the owner. With regard to the quality of the complex, it had been improving with each new management team over the years we were there. Amenities are simply 4 washers and 4 dryers to share with the entire complex and a pool. For our tastes, the complex got really loud, and the owner loves leaf blowers and has management run them daily. Even when the fumes cause you migraines and you ask the owner to use an alternative, the owner will ignore any mention of your discomfort and simply state the device is to code. Obviously this review is mainly about the owner and not the various resident management teams we met over our 10 years at Loma Vista. They had all been fine for as long as they lasted, although there are times when the owner puts them up to stuff and makes things worse. Again, the owner... We removed our prior reviews after a condescending and manipulative conversation with the owner 8 years into our tenancy (never met her before then), but I'm re-posting a short review without details of the myriad troubles created by the owner. We moved out after finally buying a house across the Bay, away from the owner and her paranoia that made our lives so very uncomfortable. So, just be aware.

Everyone who visited my apartment mentioned that this is a fantastic place to live (Well maintaind apt with lot of trees, swimming pool, small gym and laundry etc). I've lived many places in my life across different countries and continents and this was the absolute best experience I've had to date. Lived here for nearly three years in multiple apartments in the complex, both a studio and a one bedroom unit. If it was up to me I would still be there, but I needed to move to a different city for work. Without any doubt, if I move back to anywhere in the Bay, I'll be calling here first. Management: Starting with this because its the most important in my opinion, the management are amazing. Onsite management and maintenance. Kimberly who runs the office is incredibly helpful and friendly and it's rare that you would consider your apartment management a friend! Carlos who does a lot of the handy-work around the place is great too. Very friendly. Definitely miss chatting with both of them. Aside from the friendliness though, I never had to wait for any repairs or answers to any concerns. Everything is always very prompt and professional. Location: The location is amazing. You are literally across the street from the Safeway, and don't let this cause concern. I know traditionally this means higher crime rates, but not here. Transport is great too, if you have a car you are a stones throw away from 101, don't have a car? Caltrain is around 10 minutes walk. It is totally feasible to have a job in SF and live here, with no car. 10 minute walk to Caltrain, 50 minute Caltrain to 4th and King in the city. Units: They offer both furnished and unfurnished. Furnished when I was there included all utilities which was great. Comes with a cleaning service also, which I opted out of, but its there weekly if you need it. The apartments were built in the 60s, and a keen eye might be able to tell this from the exterior, but they are incredibly well maintained and also updated. Management updates and renovates regularly. I've lived in both a studio and a one bedroom and both of them were great. The studios are big for studios. If you are considering it, definitely go and look at them, I was surprised at the space. The one bedroom was *awesome* all units have a patio, kitchen and dining area, main lounge room, vanity area separate to the bathroom, bathroom (shower and tub like the studio) and a decent sized bedroom. I *highly* recommend getting a ground floor one bedroom, not the upstairs for two main reasons - 1. Ground floor patios are bigger, lots of space to play with kids, or just stretch out. The up stairs patios are good, but more of a balcony. 2. Pantry!! The ground floor apartments have a HUGE pantry in the back of the kitchen, as someone who loves to cook, this was great. Months worth of food and also storage for kitchen appliances too. If you get a chance to check out a ground floor do it, the pantry alone was enough for me to say "I'll take it!" Amenities/Facilities: Pool and BBQ Area - This is fenced off so its safe for kids, but importantly it's also locked and all residents have a key to it. The pool is generally closed for the colder months, but is heated and open when its warmer. It's kept very clean. Gym - There is a room with treadmill and elliptical machines with TV so you don't get bored and towels provided. Like the pool, this is locked and residents get their own key. In the 3 years I was here there were never any issues with conflicting time schedules with my neighbors, I could always get a spot! Laundry - There are two big laundry rooms onsite, with plenty of machines (washers and dryers), they are big industrial machines that are a joy to use, they were recently completely replaced with new models too, not because they weren't working, but I believe to help conserve water which was great of management. They machines are coin op (no annoying cards that you need to top up), quarters for the machines are super easy to get from Safeway across the street. Parking - Each unit has their own covered parking spot, and there is room for off-street guest parking as well. Well lit at night too. AC - Every unit has AC Internet - The two main providers in here are Comcast and ATT. I've had both, ATT gets their full 24mb/s DSL, and Comcast will go up to 250mb/s. Comcast business also services here, so if you want a guaranteed connection thats possible too. Neighbors: Surprisingly no annoying neighbors at all. Everyone is generally quiet, hard working. No loud parties or anything. It's easy to strike up a conversation, no one was "weird". Definitely left some friends behind when I moved! I looked at a lot of places in the area, cost-wise they are all pretty much the same, so its a no brainer when you get great management and great apartments for the same price. So stop delaying and just move in!

He has built a community of lovely neighbors that make the complex feel more like a comfortable home in a quiet (besides the gardeners and lawn mowers who keep the environment beautiful xD) neighborhood. We've never really had a problem with our apartment, and every little issue has been quickly resolved. The building is well maintained with new improvements and upgrades, and Ivana does a nice job hosting periodic events for everyone to meet each other. I wouldn't hesitate to rent here again! Just to add: I haven't had any issues receiving packages, and I'm an online shopping addict who's frequently out of town. We get everything from Amazon to FedEx with no problems.

You'll experience loud noise (all night) from train, trash trucks and neighbors above. Tree next door will also shed leaves and dirt onto your patio furniture daily and you will constantly clean. I've encountered billing errors with my rent and the mandatory parcel mail system. Same fraudulent billing issues for 6 months and manager told me to ship my packages elsewhere. No visitors can enter without walking to the gate to let them in, which is inconvenient. Package deliveries requiring a signature can't be delivered due to the lack of a leasing office or amenities. There's no on-site maintenance, causing delays that are longer than usual. The complex also includes low-income housing. The rent goes up every year!

The closest cal-train stations (San Antonio, Mountain View) are 10 minute drives as well. Apartments One of the best things about Madrone is how economically their apartments are priced as compared to rest of the Mountain View area. Specifically, we stayed in the newly renovated 2BHK apartments and found these to be spacious with huge walk-in closets. There are facilities such as gyms, swimming pool and a club-house, all of which are very well-maintained. It WILL take them some time to get to your requests so don't have your AC go out on the summer. You'll have to burn for over a month. Other than that, small request get taken care of fairly quickly and the maintenance team are kind and work extremely hard. These are OLD buildings excluding the expansion apartments they made so please know if you live on the first floor, you will HEAR EVERYTHING. We are dealing with new neighbors that walk around like the Hulk. New buildings coming soon.. They are building ADU'S for incoming residents and this is going to be built in one of the only parking areas available to spouses. They have NO solution on where us displaced tenants will be able to park nor do they care. There's street parking but the times are constrained I believe it says you cant park between 2am to 6am so Im not sure what they expect people to do. Again, I don't think they care which is a slap in the face to long time tenants. New management set up some interesting rules about not being able to rent the clubhouse out for pool parties anymore which is hilarious because now there are MORE parties that last longer than a 4 hour block with loud music. It also seems that over the summer we have a ton of people who DO NOT live here, utilizing the amenities and staying at the pool and hot tub all day including taking up Tennant parking spaces. We have one parking space covered by the rental agreement and the other has to fend for themselves for parking. Multiply this for all of the other spouses/roommates/partners etc.. who the apartment basically told to figure it out. The rent is too high for us to have to worry about anything. The old manager was way better and attentive. Think twice about moving here, especially if you have children.

Kim is probably the main reason that I chose to stay at 100 Moffett. She has been a tremendous help in asking all of my questions and is always responsive to calls or emails (very promptly too!). She's also extremely knowledgeable on everything here even though it's not her main building. If you want to tour the complex, I highly highly recommend asking to work with Kim! I've toured many apartments and Kim just smokes any other neighborhood director, landlord, or manager. Seriously, she's amazing. 20/10 rating.

WARNING: Management Refuses to Enforce 'Assigned Parking' - 24-Hour Grace Period for Trespassers…read more This review is to warn current and prospective residents about a critical, unacceptable policy failure regarding assigned parking at 100 Moffett, which Management has formally refused to fix. The Contractual Breach: My lease guarantees an "assigned" and "exclusive" parking space. However, management has an internal policy that grants any unauthorized vehicle a 24-hour grace period before the vehicle is eligible for towing, even after a resident reports the violation. The Result of the Policy: This policy means that even if you pay for an exclusive spot, Management's own rules guarantee a trespasser 24 hours of free, legal use of your property. When I reported an unauthorized vehicle occupying my assigned space, the vehicle remained present for multiple hours despite contacting the patrol, the towing company, and maintenance. This proves the management's enforcement policy is a failure to provide a contracted service, forcing the paying resident to park in unsafe or unassigned areas. Management's Refusal to Resolve: After a detailed exchange of emails, management (Prometheus) has confirmed in writing that: They will not change the policy allowing the 24-hour grace period for assigned spots. They refuse to provide residents with a documented, specific "Urgent Towing Protocol" to bypass the 24-hour waiting period, even after multiple requests. Prospective tenants must be aware: Assigned parking at 100 Moffett is not exclusive. Management knowingly maintains a policy that compromises your exclusive right, fails to enforce the terms of the lease, and provides no documented solution for immediate removal. We are now pursuing formal complaints with the local Housing Authority regarding the loss of a contracted housing service.
