Outstanding customer service! Great communication by the representative that helped me today.

Since I got their new "upgraded" cable box, I can't pause live TV for more than 30 minutes, my TV goes black sometimes multiple times an hour and routinely throughout the day, and everything about the DVR works worse. I love the simplicity of cable, but if they're going to keep blacking out my shows on an ongoing, routine basis over and over, I'm going to have to figure out something else. And of course, you can't email them, and their chat and phone service runs you around in circles. read more

When cox finally got some competition in my neighborhood (fiber optic). Cox contacted me and graciously offered to lower my bill to a competitive rate with Dobson fiber optic. ($94.00 down to $60). Cox was still $10 higher for a lesser service . After 1 month of constant buffering and slow speeds I contacted cox. First, I was told that they took away my unlimited Internet access. later I was told that I still had my unlimited Internet. then I was told I needed to pay $75 to have a technician come out and figure out what was going on.. at that time. I decided it was time to switch to Dobson fiber Internet. I disconnected Cox equipment, took it to their store and paid remaining balance. One week later I get a bill for $49. I contacted Cox cable and was told that my service had been disconnected, but that it was they restarted my services again and I owed them a $49. For an account I never opened up. Looks like I will be going to the Cox service store again. read more

Do not get Cox's television services. They're letting these networks slap ad banner pop-ups all over the TV screen while you're trying to watch a movie or show. You can't even watch anything for all the ad banner pop-ups! Everytime an important part of a scene comes on they'll slap an ad banner right on top of it! Forget closed captioning because you won't be able to read it for all the ad pop-ups. The programming is unconscionable! The networks have about 20 movies they regurgitate and they show them over and over and over again and again! The same ones! The ads are just horrible! The amount has doubled in the last year. You watch 3 mins of a show then they jump to ads for 5-8 mins or more. They're even cutting movies short to cram in more ads! The networks are stealing your viewing and Cox let's them do it. So don't get Cox television services because it's nothing but ads and very, very little entertainment. Cox should rename their service to ad service billboard. They're pathetic! I have tried for over a month now to cancel my tv service and every time I call, they say they will do it and then when I get my bill there has been no change. I had an appointment to install internet at my mother's home. The installer came out walked around the house inside and out. My mother has never had internet or cable tv. The installer stated that he couldn't go into her neighbor's backyard to run the line from the Cox box to her house without her neighbor's permission. He was supposed to come back after we got permission. I texted him one hour later. I then received a text from Cox to reschedule our appointment. All the times were one week out. I tried texting with 2 different customer service agents who were not helpful. I asked to speak with their manager and they said it wasn't possible. I then tried calling and the agent on the phone was equally unhelpful. I escalated and talked to someone that was very helpful. Someone was supposed to call me the following morning after they talked to dispatch. Of course no call... I called again. Each time I have to explain the situation and authentic that I can speak for my 90 year old mother. I called again. Agent assured me I would be put on the schedule for the following day but she couldn't do it. Assured me I didn't have to go through the whole thing again. She transferred me to sales. The rep was nasty and first thing she asked was if this was a sales issue. I had to explain again and re-authenticate. When I handed my mom the phone I said we have to go through the whole GD thing again. The rep said if you continue cursing I'm hanging up and she did. I called back went through the same explanation and authentication. For some reason this agent could put me on the schedule but no specific time. I have zero confidence they will show up. I think the installer didn't want to do the job because it was time consuming and he had many appointments after us. No excuse for the horrible customer service. The installation was not completed and should be Cox's priority to complete the install. read more

Cox hired Code Red Underground,LLC from Tulsa to dug and install new cable. This incompassed the entire length of my west yard. 3/4 of an acre. My yard is in ruins. Ran out of sod, broke my fence. Told me to have before and after pictures. I supplied Code Red Underground with these photos. They refuse to fix all the damage that they caused. Cox will not take responsibility and tell me to deal with this company. Left me out to dry with the mess they have created!!!! This has been since April!!!! read more

Beware!!!!!! My internet services has been out for over a week now and they gave me a time frame of possibly weeks before they would have it working correctly. Cox Customer Service was NOT willing to discount my monthly fees until they fixed their equipment. Basically they expect customers to pay full price for a service that they weren't providing, I guess 14 years of loyal customer service means nothing. Cox is going to go bankrupt with their terrible service. Wi-fi went out went to get another one said I needed a lower end one (looked just like the one I had) so ok asked if it was good fo plug and play he said yes. Get home not the case the on screen did nothing when you hit the button to connect. here's the bad part. Called customer service 2017# this dude sitting at home dog barking in background said he was looking into it ok wait 6 minutes plus without saying anything then I'm like how's it coming he jumps right in thank you for waiting I'm doing xyz. ok wait some more you could here this dude just sighing tapping on the table you could tell he was doing nothing I wait like this is a joke ten minutes then I'm like are we making progress again immediately jumps in thank you for wanting I can't get you set have to transfer you to sales or something what a joke. Get transferred couldn't hardly understand her slurring of words ask's for a serial# nothing say's serial# go through this for awhile turns out it's the password # then she has to talk to her supervisor tells me the modem is to old we don't give them out anymore. This is my personal experience of Cox entering a commercial business to install a phone line. I am extremely displeased with Cox, their customer service and the techs that work for this company! A Cox tech ran a phone line in the attic of one of my commercial businesses, and completely damaged several feet of air duct and return air ducts in the attic. Cox hasn't sent out any supervisors to check the damages, and have denied any wrong doing before fully investigating. They took the word of one tech, over a customer who has been with them for years, and many of my employees who have stated Cox was the only company allowed to enter the attic. This is the message I received from them upon denial. "Dr. Cate I sincerely apologize for the situation, and frustration may have caused. Our goal is to due diligence and I am confident we have done that despite the resolution.At this time please advise where I can send the formal denial letter. I can mail or email it to you for your records. If you do not provide a place to send, I have attached to your case for our records. It also regencies our explanation, findings and decision"... Disappointing and frustrating! The tech. Came told CB, " I'm here to install a phone line." He was there over an hour! The damage was done all along the new phone line on top of the insulation! Going to the exact location where they needed a new line. Cox was the only one in that attic. You take the word of a untrustworthy tech. Over 2 other people that don't have a dog in this fight! Parker said before this all started "I've been doing this for many years, I have seen tons of damage these Cox guys have done! They will deny it and you won't get a dime for damages!" He was right! And Cox doesn't even have the decency to send a supervisor to the scene! This is why Cox has a huge disapproval rating in this area! It's not about the $, This is one of 4 buildings I own! It's about integrity and honesty; Cox has none! read more

cox used to be good but now kept having outages over 11 outages in past 2 months or they say but my neighbors don't have issues and I had to keep calling after getting messages it's been resolved every day for 3 days the last time I couldn't even get updates or get it resolved I ask for updates all they said was no timeline and can't send me updates read more

My Cox service was okay. Worked most of the time. Every two months or two the service would go out for a day, which for me, was not a dealbreaker. Billing, though, was a major annoyance. I had monthly automated billpay through my credit card. 10 months in, I changed my billing address. This triggered a failed payment because of a zip code mismatch, which I noticed when my next bill was double plus a $25 fee. I figured okay, that's my bad, so I didn't even try to waive the fee. I went to pay the bill online - and couldn't. My account had been labeled risky - because of a ZIP CODE MISMATCH even though I had paid faithfully the ten months prior. Now, I had to either provide my account number (ha, never give your direct account to a cable company, okay?) or come into the store to pay in person, which I had to do for the next two months. I was moving a week before my final bill was due, so I went in and asked for the final bill amount so I could pay it since I would have already moved out of town by the time I received the final bill. They gave me an amount. I paid. I moved. Another bill came - because they had estimated incorrectly. And now they want additional payment - but won't take payment online and again demand that I come in person. Even though my new location does not have an onsite store. Between the endless time spent on customer support in the store, on chat, and online, literally for me to do them the favor of paying my bill, we're talking 20+ hours of wasted time. I haven't even detailed all the other "customer service" angst over the account payments. (I know that it isn't the fault of the local store for central having stupid payment policies and subpar chat and telephone service, but the local store did misquote the final bill.) read more

I had been a loyal cox customer in excess of 12 years prior to switching to Att. I have an opportunity to remote work, however I must use cox cable for reliable internet. I spoke with wonderful salesman, I explained I need a technician that is familiar with setting up modem and router for remote positions as well as possibly doing a wall fish into my work area. I was assured no problem. I waited approx 7 days for a Thursday nite installation. The tech said he had no idea about any of that, nor did he have any equipment with him to do it. I requested a supervisor he said he would "send him an email" I received a generic email from cox customer service several hours later simply saying call them to reschedule. I called, they transferred me to the retention desk I spoke with a very nice woman who said she would waive all the installation fees. That was well and good but I need a tech ASAP to come out and do what was scheduled for the nite before. She said that was not possible. I asked for a supervisor, rep said they don't take calls, nor can she give me their name. Their process dictates that they send an email, and a supervisor should contact me in 3-5 days. Oh but by the way, I can have a tech come out on Monday between 10-12. Really? This is going on 2 weeks I am Pending installation for a work related matter as well as requested escalation. After my call ended I received a follow up email confirming the Monday appt. and what to expect on my first bill. Guess what? All the installation charges she waived on the phone, are now on my bill as additional charges. I also called my salesperson on his direct line and left a vm to please call. No return call. This is the poorest excuse for customer service I have ever seen. 3 people in this organization were advised of the serious nature of this matter, this involves my job, and yet no one seems concerned in resolving the issue. My office has approximately 700 people in the Tulsa facility. With it now offering remote positions in some areas one would think Cox might try and establish a better line of communication and customer satisfaction. You can bet I will be encouraging folks to find a dedicated cable service elsewhere. read more

Canceled internet service in july 2019 . was current on charges- paid partial month at cancellation per customer service. $81 a month service. A year later they turn over $300 to a collection agency and I find out thru my credit report. No statement or justification and I was not under a contract--month to month. Had them for 20+ years and was never late on a payment-I left because the kept jacking up the bill. Now they're trying to hijack me read more

Beware they sell you a great panoramic experience, but it is the worst speed ever. When you call them they simply say buy more speed. We are now shopping for better service, maybe ATT. Cox also told me if I had a reach come out to check the lines and there is nothing wrong I will receive a bill. So be warned Cox is bad a lot of BS from them. read more

If I could give cox a negative, I would! I recently moved and took all my equipment to the new house and installed it, but my WiFi isn't working right. I went in and spoke to a very unprofessional kid who made comments about my profession. He told me I had a technician scheduled between 3 and 5 today. I took off early to be home and the technician never showed. I tried their online chat and was told no technician order existed. I cancelled my contour tv with them when I found out I was not under contract and he shared a smirky look with his manager. I'm fairly certain he cancelled my technician to get back at me. They cap all there high speed internet plans at 1TB which is nothing if you watch netflix or stream youtube videos. They don't disclose this to you at the time of service. With the movement of higher resolution videos growing, 1TB is really nothing. Most things are HD quality now. read more

A long time customer who has had enough. Problems (which started when they installed new equipment) that have lasted all week and then I have to wait 3 days (two different times) for them to come and fix the problem they caused. So no TV which hasn't been that bad. And of course if they say 1 to 3 you know its more like 4 or 5 for them to show up. Additionally you don't get a Cox employee but some independent contactor in an old truck. They don't even have the newest equipment that other providers offer. Everyone else I know has AT&T so I guess it's time for me. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service EVER! After 2+ years of service that included a bundle package that I didn't want in the first place, it was time to negotiate the price increase. Quickly became clear they were not interested in continuing the relationship. I wanted to discontinue the cable and phone service. The cost for internet only was over $100 per month! I had to agree to keeping a bundle of someking to get the cost at $69.99 a month - or so I thought. Over the course of the month I had to return the equipment was told I would have a credit on the account. Then they auto debited my account for the full amount of the bill before the changes. Spoke to yet another representative that quoted another cost for pared down services and assurance they would credit back to me the auto debit. That took 10 business days and the refund was not for the full amount. That lead to yet another call for an explanation, during which the cost of new service has changed again! I'm worn out! Making my next call to Hughesnet... hope that will be a better alternative. I'm over Cox! read more

They are liars and crooks. They say no service charges and they charge you and refuse to honor what they tell you. They also don't honor pricing because no one documents what they tell you. They raise your price every month and won't give you anything in writing. Time to go to the consumer advocate and have them looked at. Terrible customer service and rude staff. Initially I had went in and asked to get just Internet for our home since we don't watch a lot of tv since we have Netflix. I got talked into a bundle deal, tv, Internet and phone for 89.99$ a month and that included tax. I received my first bill a week after setting up the account, which struck me odd considering most places either have you pay up front or wait a month. The bill was $130 give or take some change, I called them as soon as I got it only to be hung up on. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called back once I was back in town, asking to either close my account or switch to Internet only. The guy on the phone tried to sell me additional bundles 5 times, at which point every time I said no I only want Internet. And finally I said to just close my account because I was just done repeating myself. God forbid I don't know what I want and need a company to decide for me! I hung up on him after I realized there was no getting through to him. Bad business! Horrible customer service! I'll be calling tomorrow to speak to a supervisor to fully close my account. If I have to, I'll talk to some of the people above them if I can't close my account out. read more

Worst service you ask for. Only get half of the data speeds that you pay for. They say in the fine print up to the speeds you pay for. So you pay full price every month but only get half or even less in some areas of town. Doesn't seem like good business but that's how they do business. read more

Sometimes you just write a review because you're angry. This is one of those times. I've always been so-so about doing business with Cox, but now I just won't do business with them again simply because they pissed me off. Although I am the one who unfortunately sent in the contract, I was trying to look at an option of buying out of my contract and there was "nothing they could do" to fix it. My only option is to either pay in a lump sum my remaining balance or to continue to pay every month. So I will continue to pay every month, but every month they have to pay I will continue to write as many bad reviews in as many places as possible.
