absolutely awful company. when I signed up I was told it was only a 3 month commitment. I kept it for almost 3 years. when I had to cancel because it's terrible connection and I am moving they charged me $1000 to cancel the service. The contract auto renews and it's all only in the fine print and they even told me on the phone it's my fault for not reading that all no matter what they told me. They tried to pressure me into sending a tech out to fix it and that also costs me money if they can't figure it out or if it's on my end. Cox doesn't care about Loyal customers and I can't believe they are so corrupt. Should have known with the name they chose for their business. I will go without internet before I sign up for this again. I'm so glad I spend $200 a month with you for almost 3 years. Dont waste your time with them. read more

I find it interesting that when I canceled my Cox business account they say they have to bill me for an additional 30 days. they said I have to give a one month in advance to cancel the service. I promise you I will never use Cox ever again. read more

Be really careful when signing a contract with cox. If the economy crashes for whatever reason and you're not able to keep up with the high cost that cox charges you're stuck, they make no concessions. As a side note, AT&T has fiber for business internet and charge month-to-month. Avoid cox and avoid a contract. read more

I've had cox service for 16 years. Not sure why I keep them Yesterday a Cox employee shows up and said I need repair work Shuts my service off and leaves (I was not home ) I called and was told the guy didn't add any notes to the file Nothing was wrong with my service ! Now they want to charge 75 dollars to fix what was not broke to begin with I will be looking for other services It's too expensive not to work So we have to go almost 4 days with no service at all Not even Internet Such an awful service but the big name keeps them in business read more

I have been a satisfied customer with Cox for years. We recently moved and had our service transferred. Technician arrived on time and was very professional in his install process. Soon after he left one camera went out of service. We called and set up a return service request the next day between 10am-12 noon. At 12:15 we called to check on our appointment. Advised that the tech was running behind and would arrive at 12:45pm. 1pm comes and I call again, was told 2:15pm. 2:30 rolls around, called again, advised it would now be 5:15pm. 5:30 comes and goes, I call again, now its 7:30pm, "but be assured he will be there tonight." 7:45pm, I call again and was advised my service was canceled and get this, the agent said I had canceled the service! Needless to say I was fuming. Every agent was so kindly robotic and every bit uncaring. I believe that they were just making up times to get me off the call. They could have actually checked with the tech who would have known he was not going to make it OR the tech who has a phone could have called and we could have rescheduled and I could have went about my day, instead of leading me on and imprisoning me in my home waiting for what was never going to happen. I mean who cares that I lost a days pay waiting for nothing! This was absolutely the worst experience I have had and am considering dropping service! We live in a hi-tech world and they can't do any better than this? BEWARE!!! read more

Service is out more often than not and speed is a joke even at the highest package/rate.

I closed my residential Cox account and have had nothing but trouble with Cox ever since. When I scheduled the disconnection I was told that I did not have to return any equipment. Then a 2-3 weeks later I received a couple of emails saying that I did have to return equipment and giving me different items to return and saying to take them to a Cox store. I have now had 5 chat sessions with them, telling them that the nearest Cox store is 130 miles round-trip. 4 of the 5 told me they will send me a return box with a label so I can ship everything back, while one told me that they can't do that because my account is disconnected. I have yet to see any box, but hopefully the last one I talked to will actually get it to me. It was easier to sell my house than it has been to deal with Cox. I will say that I liked their service better than what I have now with AT&T. It's too bad that the return process has been so badly messed up. read more
