I was with Verizon for 14 years and decided to switch and try and save some money and switched to AT&T. I got the bundle package an iPhone, Apple Watch and the internet service. Two days after I did this switch, I couldn't make a call or receive a call or send and receive a text for that matter unless I was using WiFi. I spent hours at the store and the employees there were amazing. We spoke to a tech over the phone there for about 3 hours trying to troubleshoot shoot. Her name was Grace and she was even rude to the employees. The next day I had to call again and got Grace again. We spoke for about 30 minutes and she placed me on hold for 45 minutes to speak to an expert tech. Grace came back on the phone and I told her that she placed me on hold and she then argued with me implying I was a liar. I asked for a supervisor, who was very nice but we got disconnected because the network was so bad. They told me to go to Apple and make sure the phone was not defective. I did and there was nothing wrong with the phone. They redid the eSIM at least 10 times and did the QR code and changed the IMEI AND IMEI2 twice with zero luck. So then I get told that everything has been done that they can do and all that was offered to me was an $85 credit. Now how does that fix the problem? It was a huge mistake switching to them. I couldn't give less than one star or I would have. I was with AT&T for a long long time using mobile service. I rarely needed to contact customer service because I rarely used the service. Fast forward about 10 years and suddenly Uverse is finally unveiled in my residential area. However, there is a problem. The contractors laid fiber in all the streets except my cul-de-sac. It was completely obvious just by looking at the road which was repaved in the entire residential neighborhood EXCEPT MY CUL-DE-SAC. Plus, I drove the road everyday and seen the progress - everyday. This was all confirmed when I tried to start internet service with AT&T and it was nothing but issues because they didn't actually lay fiber on my street. I couldn't get DL speeds better than 10mb/s and UL less than 1Mb/s max. I was paying for 100/10 or something like that. AT&T had no idea that their contractors never finished the job and even tho I talked to them many many many times to help fix this situation they wouldn't take notes or listen or just anything helpful. Its like they just thought I was lying and wanted me gone. Multiple technicians were sent out and every time they confirmed everything I said, but still no one left notes on the account and each time calling I had to explain over and over from beginning. Then they got extremely rude and hateful and I never got angry with them. Its not the low paid call center employees fault and I know that. They can help if they are not angry as well, so I never cause arguments with CCRs. Everyone I spoke with seemed like they did not like their job and wasn't afraid of getting fired. It was crazy what it was doing to my mind so I finally had to cut the cord. They charged me nearly 200 dollars for 3 months of troubleshooting an internet service that was never fully installed and never worked correctly and which I only used for testing during these 3 months. I was still paying for COX and using their service until this mess was fixed because it still wasn't working. Finally had my fill when the last CCR was so rude I couldn't think straight anymore. I couldn't believe how these people were allowed to talk to me especially while I was being friendly (as can be expected). I think they all thought I has mentally handicapped or something and just got frustrated thinking I was making things up the whole time and just making their job more difficult. I stayed with COX, after paying nearly 200 dollars just put an end to the horrible Saga of the AT&T nightmare. COX charges so much it makes me sick and just for internet, but I will never again hand money over to AT&T. I have options and would gladly pay more so that they do not get rewarded for being so full of hate. I'm a grown man and I nearly wanted to cry with the last woman I talked with at AT&T. She was a master at being sarcastic and hateful and still talking in a way that would make a dog wag its tail. I might have fired back if it was a man, but I couldn't do that to a woman. EDIT: Also worth noting, AT&T has a tendency to add charges to your monthly bill. If you think about it, its a brilliant plan. If you catch it and call them about it they become the hero for you "We're real sorry about that. Let me fix that for you so that" to which you have to reply "thank you". Or, you never notice it and they get extra money from you. Only two outcomes and there is no risk on their part to look bad, only to look good. Worst customer support. Ever. This does not even deserve a single star. In August I moved I and called AT&T to switch my internet service to my new address. I wanted to cancel it, and start a new 12 months at my new address. They were prompt to hook up my new home, as well as bill me at the new address. However, I am STILL getting charged for the service that was cancelled 7 months ago. I called them at the end of October regarding the charges and they said they were sorry and I would get a check in the mail. Check never came. But my bank account that was set up for auto-pay was still paying AT&T each month. I called them in December and they apologized again. Said they would send a check in the mail. I requested an email to be sent to verify the adjustments in my bill and for a confirmation the account was cancelled. But they said they could not send an email. January. Same story. However, we were credited $34.95... That makes up for one month. Our account as not been charged since, and we were just going to forget about the remaining money they owed us because it was not worth our time anymore to try and call them again to get it back. Until today..... We received a letter from collections saying we were overdue. I guess they decided to cancel our auto-pay, but neglected to cancel our account. WOW. Tried to call customer support today and they said they could not talk to me about my bill due to system updates. Sweet. I am ready to just cancel my account all together. I thought I was saving money by choosing AT&T, but by paying two bills a month I might as well have gone with another company, and not have had to deal with this mess. This review is about ATT Uverse TV. Also called U-Verse, and AT&T Uverse. This company is so screwed up they couldn't even install their TV service. We have DISH and they dropped HBO, then they dropped FSW (Fox Sports West and Prime Ticket) so we decided to switch to ATT. We called, selected our service, agreed upon a price, then scheduled the install for a week later. An hour after the install window had passed we called and after a while I was told "Sorry, they double booked today" and in summary could not do anything for us. They couldn't even get them out to install the next day as a way of making it up to us. They made us wait another week for the install. A week later, the exact same thing happened again!! They blew past the install window with no communication of any kind. If they can't even get the install right, I cannot even imagine how everything else would be. We cancelled on the spot. We'll probably have to go to DirectTV, although their package isn't as good. If you try to go with ATT Uverse for your TV service, good luck with that. read more

The worst experience I have ever had trying to sign up for a service and they mislead you to get all your personal information. I called to compare AT&T to Cox, because I saw that AT&T might have reasonably priced, fiber internet. I asked many times if they had fiber internet at my apartment complex throughout the call and received very indirect answers each time. I was told that they need all my personal information including SSN in order to determine if fiber internet is available to my apartment. What a terrible system, certainly used just to collect your data. I was hesitant, but their website made me believe it was likely and I really wanted fiber internet so I asked again if they had fiber at my location and was told there is fiber going to the building. So I gave them my information. It turns out they do not have fiber AND the fastest internet is only 5 Mbps. An awful AT&T experience and waste of time. After that, I immediately called Cox and had a pleasant conversation with the representative. She helped me to get setup with cable internet the next day with speeds up to 300 Mbps. read more

I had AT&T U-verse home phone and internet. But I was constantly charged for TV too! I didn't have TV, however every month it was on my bill! I would called them many time in regards to constant errors on my bill. A few times when it sounded like they understood the problem, they told me they would get the problem resolved and my money refunded. But I never got the refund and each month it was the same amount charged. I would have to call again and start over. When the bill was due, I paid the full amount on time to keep my account and credit in good standing with the promise from AT&T that the TV charges would be refunded back. Never happened. When I was closing my account and needed the refunded amount from all those past TV charges, they kept transferring me to different people. Back and forth. No one wanted to take my call and no one knew how to handle it. Finally they told me that there was nothing they could do and I should have contact them sooner if I wanted the refunds. But I had tried to contact them! Several times! So long story short, I never got refunded for all those TV charges. Very rude company. read more

We were forced by AT&T to switch to their UVerse, January 2015. To date we've have spotty and slow connections through out our 1500 sf home. Repeated calls in the last 1.5 years to UVerse haven't identified or corrected the problem. Each time they've said their meters show us getting a signal. Last week we lost service all together. The UVerse tech reported that we were "hopped" onto someone else's service, that we never truly had a line of our own. When the original line was disconnected, so were we. Tech spent 4 hours rewiring so that we would get a true connection. I spent two hours this morning on the phone with AT&T, being bounced to different departments. Seems that the tech's notes have been purged from our file, so they aren't going to offer any kind of retribution. I have my notes and am angry enough to take them to small claims court and file a report with the FCC, BBB. read more

Unreliable home network and horrible customer service. My Internet went out on a Friday afternoon and the soonest appointment they had was for Thursday late afternoon (6 days later)! Because I telework, (work from home), I must have a reliable home Internet connection with good timely customer service. For over an hour I got shuffled from one customer rep to the next, In the end the best that they could offer me was asking me to up my cell phone plan to unlimited data plan so that I could do a mobile hotspot while waiting a week for my home wireless to get fixed!! This would've forced me out of my AT&T wireless plan that I have been grandfathered into! Unbelievable! This evening I continue to encounter service glitches with my DSL. Yes, I have DSL in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The techs have been very helpful in striving to triage and maximize my DSL service; however, the customer service via the 877-722-3755, 800-331-0500, and other have been quite poor. I was lucky enough to be given the landline customer service number at 855-250-4777 where he was candid enough to convey, "I get your frustration, I would talk to the loyalty group to see what they can do for you...I hear you." Kudos to this one fellow out of the 10 people that took time to listen and not just take my money or provide an empty apology. The automated system for taking my money was not working, yet ATT had the ability to charge me another $5. Another way for ATT to "appreciate me" as a customer. When I called this evening, I encountered customer service where ATT representative could not locate my account. I am now waiting to talk to someone from the Loyalty Department. This company has lost sight of the customer service and their customers. If you live in Tulsa, please advise which company you might recommend. I have spent 2.5 hours today and spoken to over 12 people- AT&T is truly a need of connecting to customers and not just my bank account. Extremely poor customer service. High cost and ever changing rates/bills. I was placed on a plan that I clearly stated that I did not want and it nearly doubled my monthly rate. Then I was offered a plan to lower my monthly rate, I accepted yet this plan was never put into place. 6 months of fighting att over uverse plans and pricing I come to find out I was lied to! the lower priced plan was "never available to me because I was an existing customer". All the while the rep that offered it ignored my multiple calls and messages. Another rep claimed the rep that lied about the lower rate plan had been calling and leaving messages for me...again lies! ATT would not work to resolve the issue in a timely, satisfactory manner. To top it off the CS reps were rude and could care less about losing business from a long time (20 yrs) loyal customer that had everything from cell phones, internet, tv, to landline though them.
