I was there for THREE HOURS while they stumbled around trying to get all 3 phones working. They asked if my son would mind changing numbers (sure, a teenager would love to tell all his friends to use his new number). Then they tell me in 14 days to call and cancel the insurance, that anything they sell has to come with insurance but after that, our bill will be $30 per line. I follow my orders, check online and see that they are autobilling me for $540! It took me 3 phone calls totaling 5 hours to get that sort-of corrected. I still have to call a separate AT&T 800# to correct the fact that they signed me up for a business line, not a consumer line. Headache on top of headache. Avoid this store at all costs -- completely incompetent.

He said of course and when I told him I would drop it by that afternoon and expect it a week later Jim said there was a good chance he'd have it that afternoon. Sure enough, by 5:30 he had all the data from a dead machine on a memory card. I saw him deal with four customers during the time I was there and he treated them with total respect and tried his best to educate to current best practices without being pretentious. We showed up within 15 minutes. Michael Hoff, the associate that helped us, informed that the SIM card would be $35. What in the world? Who would pay that? So we actually walked out. Got back to the car and got kinda annoyed. So we went back in. He insisted it was $35. We demanded to talk to the female that answered the phone. Then he questioned us to confirm if we called the correct store. We said "yes. We're local. This is our regular store". He wound up selling it to us for $16. He then told us that we had to call AT&T and activate the SIM card. We go home. Call AT&T. Stay on hold for a long bit. Finally get a hold of some one. She happened to be a corporate manager for AT&T. We explained everything to her and she was appalled to hear of our experience. She explained that this particular store is not a corporate store but it's a franchise. So although they can charge any price - it's frowned upon. She couldn't even find that particular employee (Michael Hoff) in the computer system. She tells us that SIM cards cannot be activated over the phone and it needs to be done in store. So if you want to save yourself some headache- head to the corporate store in New London (I cannot vouch how good/bad the service is at that store either) (Yes this trip was about a year ago. He said, That's not a good replacement. I paid Apple $415.00 to replace the screen. I paid Cellular Mobile $200.00. The lesson here is not to go to Cellular Mobile for repair. Ever.

High pressure sales but once you pay, forget about getting any support. There are comparable products (new!) on Amazon that are price competitive and Amazon accepts returns. Try eBay if you are looking for a used piece of equipment. Better prices and delivery can be arranged.

I had an ungrounded bass amplifier that blew my cab when I switched polarity to stop it from…read moreelectrocuting me, and our guitarist had a recently purchased used Fender Twin that was acting up. Cove serviced the Fender twice, only charging for parts the second time, and fixed up my head (redoing old connections, replacing some switches that were worn out, reconnecting equalizers that didn't work, and put in an internal ground) all for under $100. He also advised me on the best approach for fixing my cabinet. The current had fried the speaker cones beyond repair and he suggested some options for replacement. All told this took about a week to complete and cost much less than it would to replace the cabinet. Bonus points for his knowledge on all things related to vintage amps. If you're interested (and probably if you're not) you can get a history lesson on tube manufacturers. Maybe this is a symptom of newer musicians' obsession with tube amplifiers and lack of knowledge about caring for them, but he also went into great detail about how to keep things functioning.
