I checked in on the self service kiosk, someone came over to ask what I needed, and she gave me a new remote lickety split. I was on my way in about 5 minutes. A weak signal that none of them could improve no matter what they did and they did very llittle. After years of this poor service I was happy when I saw that T-Mobile home internet was available in my area. I switched and never looked back. I finally have reliable internet and TV with T-Mobile and YouTube TV for a lot less money. read more

POTENTIAL!!!!! A year ago when I first had the unfortunate pleasure to visit this Cox Retail Facility, it was lackluster & downright frustrating. But fast forward 365 day, 52 weeks & the changes are remarkable... From the lobby area to the customer service area to the Cox representatives themselves. I can honestly say, I hope this time go round is more customer serviced orientated, seems so. Upon entrance I was greeted from midway the store by 2 Cox reps... Impressive, but i was one of 3 customers, but still, its noteworthy. I was serviced & out the door within a total of 15 minutes, I clocked it, entrance to exit, hand to the bible. I was impressed & surprised. Picking up a modem, was simple as ONE-TWO-THREE!!!! The look & feel of the store reminds you on a cellular phone service provider, cells phones & tablets adorn the walls & counter-space. The Cox reps, as I stated were remarkably friendly; more like they like their jobs & less like its a chore. Hellllllllo, this is major!!!! The very first time I visited this location to swap out a broken remote control, I was not impressed at all. And if I had to review this store based solely on my first visit, It would have been one star. However, in the past few years, I have had the opportunity to visit several more times to swap out various modems, routers and DVR's. Now, I am greeted by a customer service rep every time I enter the door. The employees seem generally happy to be there as their greetings are enthusiastic and sincere; and the same hold true for the people helping behind the counter. Kudos to Cox for staffing enough employees so that my total time in the store was less than 15 minutes. The actual location on Elysian Fields Avenue is not the greatest; however, the store now has a security guard inside that lends a sense of "security" to all who enter. I have to agree with Teneha B. in that this store seems to be on a good upswing. Now only if Sewerage & Water Board could take a few hints on proper customer service. read more

Garbage Corporation Defined I've been dealing with the fuckery of Cox for the last year as it's the only option in the CBD. I learned a long time ago that monopolies are no good for anyone and Cox has solidified my opinion. I've had issues with service, billing (one month $900+), equipment failures, and the list never ends. The worst part of Cox is their customer service. No one in the company can communicate directly with anyone else. Everything is done through a series of emails that can take days to be approved or disapproved. Cox will charge YOU when their equipment fails. Look out for that trick... Each time I watch TV or use wifi I wait for the Cox fuckup. I'm actually using a wifi extender for an computer in the room next to the Cox's most expensive router. read more

Internet is included in my rent or I wouldn't bother with Cox at all. But there is a problem at the pole right now - it appears to be the same problem as once before. It took six months the last time to get them to climb the pole to fix it. All they wanted to do was switch out the modems and move them. This time around, I have been told I would get calls - I didn't. The tech wouldn't wait until I had attempted to log on to see if he'd fixed it - he didn't. Cox has promised phone calls to me. They didn't call. Cox New Orleans has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my lifetime, and it's not even close. I went to the Cox Solutions Store to set up an internet account, as my roommate was moving out and the internet had been in his name. The woman who helped me told me that Cox had changed some things around and told me the minimum speed package I'd want for basic internet usage would be the "preferred" account. I was hesitant but figured after the long wait I endured simply to talk to someone - I didn't want to have to return to change it later - so I agreed. She then mentioned that Cox had a special going on - free HBO for a year. I told her thanks but no thanks, as we do not even own a TV. She persisted and insisted there was no reason not to do it, because it was free. She told me I would see a TV charge on my bill but it would be $0. I asked if there would be a charge after a year, she said no. I received my bill recently, and it turns out the "preferred" internet is the FULL internet package, for playing video games, etc. - very, very high internet usage. I explicitly told the woman helping me that we only browsed the internet and SOMETIMES streamed netflix. There was ALSO a $40 TV charge on my bill - after I EXPLICITLY told her I did not want TV (WE DON'T EVEN OWN A TV). I'm livid - and would be interested in switching providers after this experience. read more

WORST COMPANY EVER. In the middle of COVID-19, I am moving into a new house. I called 7 times and was on hold for multiple hours. Was assured many many many times that my services at my current address would not be disconnected as a tech would not come to the new location for over a month. What happens? Let me start by saying I've had some pretty terrible luck with Cox in the last few months. In my old apartment, I constantly had tiling and low signal issues. It was only on the living room TV, and we had two other boxes that never had a problem. Yet, Cox continually insisted it was a signal problem with the lines outside and within the building. I called numerous times and the box reset at least 20 times. And they sent technicians out three times. Every time the box was reset or a tech came out, the box would work for a couple days or even a week. Then back to the same problems. And customer service would never believe that it might be the box. I did go to the main cox store on Airline once to switch the box out (got the same model back). But after a few weeks, it started to have the same problem. This made it a little unclear if it was the signal or the box. But I still never had problems with my other boxes. So, then I moved into a house in another neighborhood. And wouldn't you believe I had the same problem with that box?! So I stopped at this Cox store to switch out the box myself. I signed in and waited less than 15 minutes, and the salesman who helped me was very understanding. He listened to my whole story and agreed that the box was clearly the problem. And I was about to ask for a different model, but the salesman beat me to it. I was very happy to hear him suggest it. So after about 15 minutes, I got my new box, and I haven't had a problem yet (fingers crossed)! The service here was fast, friendly, and it seems to have worked. Don't go to this location if you are planning to rent equipment from them. I had rented a modem and was given a defective one along w/ a self activation kit (worth $10 at the store)that I was charged $30 for. The person who suppose to take off the block took off the block for my neighbor instead of mine. So they had to send someone else out to my home to redo it and charged me twice for it. Come to find out they gave me a defective modem so I end up w/ internet that I could not use until I bought my own modem a week later. A couple of days after I bought my modem, I received a $210.31 bill for the first month. Even after I returned the modem and the self installation kit. I called to get it waived and was told they could they could only waive one installation fee and the installation kit but i still had to pay for the DEFECTIVE modem rental! HOW ABOUT THAT?! Why do I have to pay to rent a defective modem?!?! So I advise anyone and everyone to just go w/ AT&T instead. I had them previously and had no problem.
