If you live in west Phoenix don't get Cox cause since December I have to miss days of work because they have an outage every month at least once a month maybe even 2 times.... They don't care all they do is credit your account but I am missing work because of this. This is honestly ridiculous and if there was someone else that services my area I'd be changing companies. Why the heck can they not get someone to solve the problem that we have to miss a day of work cause they have to come out once a month cause there's an outage... and then tell you there's not an estimated time when it will be fixed... most unprofessional company I've ever experienced. read more

This company is absolutely awful. Their service is not the greatest. There are outages quite frequently. Every time we've moved, they've given us trouble about setting up the internet in our new home. After many issues with the internet service, we decided to try a different company. I was told prior to the start of our new internet service that canceling would be a breeze, I would just have to cancel when I was ready, as they couldn't schedule a shut off more than 24 hours prior, which is odd considering they can schedule moves. Regardless I collected information from the associate about what I would need to do upon canceling my internet service. I was informed that the modem would need to be returned. Fast forward to now. Our new service was set up, so I unplugged my modem, packaged it up, and contacted cox to get my service canceled. The first time I contacted them, I was transferred three times. The final transfer left me on hold for approximately 20 minutes before I became irritated and tried again. Keep in mind that everyone else I was transferred to was readily available. I tried contacting them again. A second time I was told that I would need to be transferred and I waited in limbo for approximately 15 minutes. I tried one last time. Again, I was told that they couldn't cancel my service, that they would have to transfer me. After 10 minutes waiting for the other department I gave up. This company will HOLD YOU HOSTAGE. They will NOT let you cancel. You will have to jump through hoops to end your services with Cox. Use ANY OTHER provider before Cox. I'd rather go without internet before ever going back to Cox. What a terrible business. read more

Expensive for slow speeds. Call to cancel, and they switch plans on me instead. Have to call again to cancel. Shouldn't take half an hour to cancel service. Went with Verizon. Saves me over $300 a year with faster speeds. read more

Wifi cuts out at LEAST 5 times an hour, and I'm not the only one it's happening to. I've been trying to get the issue resolved for over 3 months now, but no one has been able to fix the issue. I work from home, so this is a huge inconvenience. I would go with a company that's more reliable than Cox is. read more

Be warned! This service is a big RIP OFF. You can internet in other ways far cheaper than this. DO NOT use COX for business internet!

if I could give this company a zero I would. The lack of accountability and commitment is atrocious! I waited 9 days for service only to have them disconnect it when I returned old equipment. They apologize like they are reading a script. I spoke to five different people only to get five different stories! I work for a major management company, I will not referred this company to anyone! read more

I contacted COX to look at switching my business phone to a mobile phone through my personal carrier, they told me that my contract ended 2 months prior and there would be no fees. Now that I have switched they are charging me over $500 for breaking a contract that is on auto renew.... BAD BUSINESS COX!!! will be glad to cut your cord! read more

I tell them I want unlimited internet, they set me up with the highest internet service or so I thought. Over $90 dollars in overages fees comes thru on my first bill even though I was told I had an unlimited package? They tell me well the first guy never set you up with unlimited as I asked for but we can refund that $90 and set you up with the correct package. I was amazed at that costumer service to fix something that they messed up. Only to get an email an hour later that they cannot refund anything that they promised to already. They just wanted to get me off the phone, Keep all my money, lie to me again. Terrible company. read more

I would rate zero or negative if I could. We are trying to cancel tv and just keep internet and we are ready to tell them to take all of it and shove it. They want to know our personal information and even ask what shows we like when we are telling them to cancel our tv service. At this point my husband is ready to cancel all service with them. And we are trying to do this online instead of on the phone like they push you to do. Found out We are also renting a modem that we were charged $136 for last year. Hmmm I think the company is in financial distress the way their sales people are. What a bunch of scammers and shysters. Now they keep coming back trying to sell more packages. We were paying over $260 a month which is crazy!!! Gee they came down a whole $40 lol!! What a bunch of sleazy salesman thieves! My husband is also printing the chat for record. I do not trust these people. Finally after over an hour online we got a price for just what we wanted. Wow!! Jerks!! I will be shopping around for new internet. read more

So there is just - texting, I am not the one for this, says; ( cox business line) , but I will contact those in charge. & for days I am not allowed to use my credit card machine. Am I pissed..YES. They just say I am sorry, give you the "pat" apology - We are sorry BS. and we are working on it. 7 DAYS...........no service..........you are not working on it........you never get to the service people / just a person sitting at home, saying he is doing his best......use another carrier if you can...you will be disappointed here w/ COX... read more

Worst internet provider. Always down terrible customer service. By far the worst business I have ever dealt with.

this services is a scam especially straight up internet . I pay for a week service and in the second day they always have a issue and I can't even use the internet service I purchased this service sucks read more

Worst provider ever. Somehow managed to take my modem off the account and disabled my internet for 3 days randomly.

Cox business is hands done the worst internet for a small business. We have had this service for 2 months and in this amount of time we have called at least 3 times per week as our internet has gone down. They have sent their technicians out 5 times now and we are still having issues. I have asked Cox to let me out of my contract and they are refusing to do so. Now it looks like I will need to pay another company to have internet at my business and I guess I will continue to pay cox as they will not let us out of our contract. read more

What has happened to Cox? The internet service used to be so reliable, but it is constantly going down during the work day. The office I work at recently upgraded to faster service thinking that would help, but it has not. Some years ago we bought a new home and Cox does not cover the neighborhood. At the time I was disappointed, but now I'm glad. read more

Cox just cost me 25% of my customers! 10's of thousands of dollars. Phone service goes through internet and it's been down all day.

Let me just say that the past 3 wks I have had issues and when they have issues they are not able to correct the issues in a timely matter. They really don't care that you are missing work and wages from their problems but are quick to say hey we are able to give you credit for 3 dollars for today. Not sure but I know I make a hell lot more then 3 dollars a day and for sure make a lot more then 3 dollars an hour. Hey but they gave you credit and act like they are proud to issue you that credit. Cox internet in queen creek service is the worst. read more

This "business" and I say that in quotes deserves a negative number of stars for their incompetence and sheer audacity to pretend they have customer service. Hours of my life have been lost trying to clear up their mess and they have absolutely no shame in charging for it. Cannot even begin to describe how awful this company is. Might be worth taking out a hit on my dad who needs the landline from these usurious sharks just to be able to cancel everything from these scammers. Seriously if you have any ANY alternative - two cans on a string - you will be better served than engaging with these shysters read more

Just got hung up on TWICE from "tech support" The first person I spoke with in tech support sounded more like a customer service agent considering she had no understanding of what port forwarding is. The second person decided that resetting the router/modem provided by them would be a good solution, which I didn't even call about. Then hung up on me. The third person I spoke to hung up around 3 minutes. Fuck you cox. If I wasn't FORCED to have you as an ISP I wouldn't, I pay for gigablast and consistently get an upload speed of 6 and a download of 110. Fuck you for being a monopoly and shame on you for being such a conniving money hungry company. read more

Called to cancel and was hassled by the retention rep for about 30 minutes on why I shouldn't cancel then at the end of the call I was told it would be cancelled and nothing else was needed. they continued to charge me and when I noticed auto payments were still coming out of my account I froze it and called them. They said I had not cancelled yet, so I let them know when I cancelled and they said they would cancel for me and would look into reimbursement. Instead they sent me one more bill and when I did not pay it, they sent me to collections. I have continued to dispute it and anytime I talk to Cox directly they are unable to comprehend what I am telling them although it is very simple. They must have the call recording of when I talked to the retention department to originally cancel, yet refuse to reference it for evidence. They owe me 2-3 months worth of payments when I did not use their service after calling to cancel yet have me with collections. Extremely frustrating. read more

Do yourself a favor and run don't walk from this company! The company cares only about $. Cox business is criminal and they fully take advantage of people. You will notice when you call and try to turn off services you somehow just renewed your contract suddenly it seems to always happen to us. Buyer-Be-Ware when you sign up for cox and their outrageous pricing there is a clause in your contract that they hope you never see or find and that's your contract will auto renew every 12 months. So whenever you try to cancel they want a early termination fee that is like 1200 a year for just internet. So unless you cancel in that single month window you will be billed a ridiculous amount of money. And when you do cancel make sure you get the equipment back to them as fast as possible or they will waste no time in sending you an outrageously overpriced bill for that as well even though they get your equipment and throw it into a recycle bin as soon as it's retuned. Every interaction with cox business has been not anything more then them trying to take a lot of money from businesses as a last attempt at their corrupt ways of doing business. Don't give this company any of your money. Thank god there is much better options and at much lower prices these days. Verizon and T-Mobile 5g internet for small business is a much better option if you have it available. Stay away from cox. Their service isn't anything special and for a long time they monopolized the industry and their corrupt business practice hasn't changed to date.... read more

Terrible experience. Submitted a deactivation form to cancel our services due to us moving and still getting charges 3 months later (after they have picked up the equipment already and have proof of submitting the cancellation request). Had to call back twice to get them to submit the form and back-date the account, which they told me the first time that the account has been canceled. We received another charge 30 days after the first call so I had to call back again and told the story over again and Cox told me that they submitted the cancelation, confirming it has now 100% officially been submitted. Now, lets wait and see if they actually closed our account. read more

Called tech support bc my internet goes in & out all the time. I diagnosed the problem to be a bad coax cable going to router. I told him thanks for nothing & he got a attitude so I hung up. Terrible support read more

They are unreliable and unresponsive. I think the company is struggling financially. I would find someone reputable.

I have been a Cox customer since 1996. I have blindly always liked them. Recently my son passed and left us with an enormous amount of debt and I have been struggling to get caught up on anything, but I am doing my best everyday. This morning my internet was shut off (It is a Sunday) while my daughter and grandson were working from home. They have been living with me recently to try and help me get everything in order. We called Cox and the automated system had told us that we needed to pay $904 to reinstate our service. I tried to set up payment through my checking (even though I wasn't aware that we were 2 months behind) and the system would not let me do so and told me to callback during normal business hours. I waited a few hours and tried again. I got the same result but was able to speak with an agent. He was very nice, but very "all business" with me over the phone. He told me that we were two months behind and my payment I tried to make in June did not go through, then the payment I made 6 days ago did not go through but the system tried it multiple times. I did figure out that I was trying to automatically pay with my credit card rather than my checking, which is completely my fault (I am in my 70s and my daughter and grandchildren usually help me with all this stuff). He said that since the payment had not gone through multiple time (two of the those 3 times the system was automatically trying to push it) that I could only turn my internet back on in person with cash because the system put me on a block to pay with my checking account or debit. I was mortified and trying not to cry. I don't know where I am going to get 900 dollars out of nowhere especially when my bank is closed due to it being Sunday. I asked him if there was any way my internet could be turned back on so my daughter could finish her shift until tomorrow and then I will go to the bank and try and figure out what I can do first thing in the morning. He said "Oh no, there is nothing I can do." I then asked why I was never notified my last two payments did not go through and he told me that it is my banks responsibility to notify me, not Cox's. I said, I don't understand why I was never sent any notification though, I feel like that is odd. He said, "Again Ma'am it is your banks responsibility to tell you that, not ours. I felt that was a cold and rude was to respond and stated "I think I need to get a different provider." he responded with "so sorry to hear that" in a very snarky way. I wasn't yelling, I wasn't rude. I then asked if I could speak to a manager and the gentleman told me he can send them a message and I will hear back from someone is 24 to 48 hours. I told him that was fine and then the line disconnected. I understand that this is ultimately my fault, however I do feel that companies should hold a little bit of loyalty to people who have been with them for years. I would never expect a handout or free service, but someone to just be a little kinder and at least see what they can do to help. They clearly do not value any of our service though. I understand my bill isn't paid and that is my fault ( I am in my 70's and have been really struggling) but the lack of compassion and just 'Oh well, sorry' attitude for a service that I pay $440 dollars a month with a company I have used for almost 30 years is just gross. I will be saving money at the suggestion of my grandchildren and going through a different provider and learning how to stream my shows. So after 30 years of service and thousands of dollars I have overpaid to Cox Communications I am sort of glad this happened and this relationship is over. Also, I highly recommend not getting any services through them to anyone looking because that is how they treat someone who clearly had a mistake they weren't aware of that has been a loyal customer for so many years. Thank you, K ** Update*** I spent hours driving to the store and on the phone today and the 7 employees I spoke to today were great. I kept being transferred by mistake which was frustrating but everyone was super kind and helpful. They did help me a lot today and let me pay half of my balance now and arrange to pay the remainder in a week. One of them looked over my bill with me to remove all the features that I am over paying for and have never used which was over 100 dollars worth. All in all everyone was great and very knowledgeable and helpful today. That on man yesterday was terrible and I hope he at least gets coached and learns how to treat people. read more

If i could give zero stars i would. This company borderline scams people with fees. I fell behind on my bill due to covid and for months i have been trying to catch up. I have paid them over a grand in the span of 5 months because of all the fees they charge. They will not work with you and instead will shut off the internet and not let you make a scheduled payment but will keep charging you. They also will make personal harassment statements when you call to dispute the random charges and cant even come up with an answer as to what the charges are for. Horrible customer service and horrible company. I wish I could rate them "zero" stars. I have them, unfortunately, at home as well as at my business. My home account has a land line, cable and internet. The internet is always slow and often goes out. The cable service is horrendous and the equipment (cable box) needs to be rebooted constantly. At my office I have cable and a land line. The cable goes out intermittently. The telephone service is even worse. I sometimes have no service and quite often I cannot retrieve my voicemail messages. Patients often say that the phone rings forever without going into voicemail. At this moment, I am calling Cox customer service because I have voicemail messages and I cannot retrieve them from the direct landline nor from my cellphone. I cannot receive calls either. I have been on hold for over 30 minutes. I cannot wait for competition to be available because I will swiftly switch to any other company. read more
