It was a little pricey, but honestly, that's just what comes with owning this type of car. So worth it. Sam was super friendly and cool, and Josh was great too, he kept me company while we waited for my car to be ready, which made the time go by fast. They were very transparent about pricing and labor, which I really appreciated. What impressed me most was how quick they were. At the dealership, I usually expect to be without my car for a week, but here it was literally from one day to the next. That alone is a huge plus. I drove my SUv to this location and I finally went to the location after hearing every excuse under the sun after they kept my vehicle 6-7 months. When I drove up they were working on it but, they couldn't get my SUV to even start and the condition was nothing like it was prior to me driving it down. I am sad to say, after taking my Land Rover Discovery Sport here for oil changes for a couple of years and being happy with them, I brought it in last week for the check engine light being on. They told me the reason for it being on was a cracked turbo charger and said it'd be around $3500. Then came out a few minutes later and said that was wrong and it would cost around $4500. Then finally a short while later said the total with an oil change would be $5300!! I decided to leave and think it over because something didn't feel right. I ended up taking it over to Autobahn Land Rover and paid them the $195 to diagnose it. It DID NOT have a cracked turbo charger. It needed a purge valve and a charcoal assembly. (Which was way less money) I'm extremely disappointed in these people. I thought they were good guys. Be cautious! read more

It only has 66k miles and is well taken care of. I love supporting small businesses and always thought very highly of their quality of work but I am now questioning it. A couple years ago they also recommended that I replace the control arms because they were failing. I held off and it was never mentioned as an issue the follow two service inspections. I came across this place by accident, but so glad I did!! I had a feeling I was in need of a new tire, but I kept getting the 'ok' for a plug at other shops. Sam and Josh are simply the best. I recently bought a 2002 Range Rover, which had the usual head gasket, ABS, and leaking problems. After calling around all three area Land Rover dealerships, taking it to two separate shops, and calling at least six more indies, I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. All the others were either inexperienced or were going to charge me over $7,000 for the repairs. When I finally found Cowtown Rover, Sam not only diagnosed the issues within minutes, he offered to fix a few additional preventive maintenance items for a whole package deal significantly cheaper than the rest. He even offered to drop me off at home and picked me up when the car was ready (over 30 minutes each way). When my car was ready for pickup, he found a few more issues pertaining to bad relays, and he just fixed those as part of my deal without additional cost. Sam and Josh truly care about their customers. They saved me a boat load of money and gave me something even more valuable: peace of mind. I've been having my car serviced at Cowtown for 6 years....and after all of the thousands of dollars I've spent, my experience has been unbelievably terrible. I had my engine go out on my in May 2012. Was promised the rebuilt one would be up and going in 1 week...it ended up being 6 weeks. I picked the car up and the engine went out the next day! They took the car back on July 2 and I didn't get it back until February 2013! Sam, the owner of Cowtown insisted that the machine shop was backlogged for initially 90 days, then it was 6 months etc....actually I went to the machine shop and found out the reason my engine hadn't been completed is because Sam didn't order to be done, because it was coming out of his pocket....another lie! The belt broke this week and I had it towed to Cowtown...they said it was the power steering pump....I paid for it over the phone, they said they would have my car back to my house by six...it didn't make it...they called and said they would be there in the morning (today) between 9-9:30...no show...I call, Sam said that they are busy and that he didn't promise it there by 9:30...another lie...after a heated phone exchange, I was told to F__K myself and that he wasn't going to bring me my car after I paid the 800 bill the previous day (yesterday) Needless to say, I have plenty of ground to sue, but he's worthless...oh, and since my car sat in his shop for 7 months, the brand new tires that were on it, got flat spots...he refused to replace them...he said he would shave down the flat spots! What complete lack of customer service, completely devoid of any integrity...I have every right to be upset, just hope that someone else doesn't get duped by this con artist. read more
