Also, beware that there are no restrooms or inside seating. There are picnic tables for the nice weather. I got the Chicago Hot Dog and the Bacon Double Cheeseburger. The hot dogs are huge and very tasty! The roll was brioche like. I really enjoyed the hot dog. The cheeseburger was so good. You can really taste difference in the beef. In fact, I went back and bought burgers and hotdogs for our Father's Day cookout! They have lots of farm raised beef and pork products for sale. The prices are very reasonable.

The River Rock Farm story is a tragic and valiant one. I won't go into it here, but you can read…read moreabout it on their website, and it makes you even more grateful that they are still around to sell you their fantastically delicious meat after you have done. If you can get your hands on a River Rock flank steak, first consider yourself very lucky. Then smear it with a paste of fresh rosemary and garlic, and salt and olive oil and let it sit for a day. Then wipe it off and grill it fast and hot. Cross across the grain, serve with market fresh corn. Die happy.

It was good to see with my own eyes that they cows indeed had plenty of room to do their thing. Their meat is kept in freezers and almost any cut of meat is available year round. Most of their business comes from high end restaurants and farmers markets. Also, for orders over $50, they will deliver to certain areas of MA. In my opinion, Kim was very knowledge and helpful. I ended up picking up 50lbs of ground beef. Bottom line: If you care about responsible farming , quality meat, and supporting local farmers, you should consider calling River Rock Farm. As for me... the next time I am in need of beef, this is the place I will go to.

Applebrook Farm opens for the 2026 season on Saturday, September 12 and they have a Facebook page for updates as well as this year's hours. The people that work here are friendly and really VERY knowledgeable about their apples. There are 28 variety of apples which compared to the one I work at which has 13. 130 acers in comparison to to the 82 at ours. The bags are sold at 2$ a pound so a half bushel filled will be around $40 and a peck will be roughly $20. My opinion get the bang for your buck and go all out. Creston apples are phenomenal! Reminds me of a ginger gold, great crunch, awesome flavor! I told my buddy here needs to buy these for his farm. Love the fact that a lot of rows are done in trellis style which I never seen before and make a great deal of sense for tree to acreage. They are also very manageable for picking that everything for me (6'1" tall) is grabbing reach. So you smaller people do not have to do all that jumping ;) Being the weekend before Columbus weekend the trees are on their last stretch of apples but the middle of the rows still have plenty for picking. The farm itself has blueberries, peaches, plums and pears too but certainly now out of season. The store itself is a nice treat. I filled a bag full of goodies to accommodate my sweet tooth but also to support the farm. The store is open seven days a week seven months out of the year.
