I'm sitting outside of this boutique in tears. As I explained about my wedding, the owner, a blonde lady, asked where my ring was. I said I don't have it yet, it's being made. She said is this a quick engagement? A quick wedding? I said it's not very traditional and as I was taken back I said that's kind of a rude way to ask. She quickly snapped back "if you don't want to be here, you can leave." I remainea completely calm as she raised her voice and said she will not be spoken rudely to in her store. I said "I am not being rude I am simply letting you know there are other ways to ask a bride what you asked." She continued to raise her voice and when I asked her to please not raise her voice at me she responded with "I will raise my voice if I want in my own store. I will not be disrespected in my store" I said "ma'am, I did not disrespect you, but there are other ways to approach customers, I said what you said was rude, maybe be a bit more gentle." As she kicked me out of her store, her very sweet store associate mouthed the words "I'm sorry" to me. I am stunned this woman owns a business. She literally opened the door as she was yelling at me saying "LEAVE! GET OUT! BYE!"
Not once did I raise my voice, curse or anything that I would could be considered rude aside from tell her how her that how she approached me was rude. I have never felt so looked down upon from the moment I walked into the store.
Thank you to the sweeet associate who saw everything and offered her apologies for the owners horrible behavior.
Thank you to the all of the other bridal shops I have visited who have not once asked where my ring was and welcomed me with open arms. read more
