I was amazed by the management at this location. I had an issue and the manager, Marc, personally…read morehelped me with it. And the office staff person, Caitlyn was also amazing. From the minute I arrived Caitlyn was polite and super helpful. Despite being in a busy frontage road it was surprisingly quiet!! And the parking lot and common areas were always kept clean. Thank you again Marc for making my stay good!! I only have a few suggestions that they should take into considerations 1. More stable & reliable internet. 2. Get rid of the interior carpeting right inside the door and threshold metal. As someone who is visually impaired, this caused a safety concern for me. I tripped over it several times. 3. More lighting in the room. Being visually impaired lighting is important ti me and it was very dim. Even my 19 year old son who is not visually impaired commented on how dim the lighting was.

Dirty room, especially bathroom. The tile on floor was disgusting! Like never cleaned between tile…read moresquares (grout). There was soap but no shampoo, as it cost them too much. In the entrance, the metal frame around the small square of carpet has a gap in the corner, leaving a two pointed tips to cut bare feet! So be careful! Oh, the bathroom door doesn't shut all the way, so it couldn't be closed or locked. They only had 2 ADA rooms available. I had a choice between a room with no TV or no AV. It was only 74 outside so I chose no AC. I baked in that room! It would be nice if told about these issues before I make the reservation and the 1hr drive there. The only good thing about staying here, was the $5 AARP discount! WOW!

No the manager of the motel was very helpful we had several issues with the rooms themselves…read more The first room we were given, we pulled back blankets to expose the sheets and found two large yellow stains on the sheets. The manager was kind enough to give us a second room. The issue with the second room was twofold. First the TV would not change channels. No matter what we did. Most importantly when we woke up in the morning to take showers there was literally no water pressure in the showerhead. Started out slow to begin with and then gradually got less and less and less. All of this said it was a pretty much disappointing place to stay. All of that said I do understand that they are in the process of upgrading things so hopefully all of this will change in the near future. They have just changed from a general Privately owned hotel/motel to a franchise travel lodge by Wyndham. I will say that if we come back to here and this hotel again is our last resort, as it was this time because everything else was booked, I would certainly give it another chance.

This is by far the nastiest hotel we've ever stayed! The slide lock on the door literally came off…read morein my hands, the bathroom is from the 50's I'm sure and not in a cute nostalgic way. The toilet is the foot flush kind you'd find at a rest area, the shower is tiny and if I'd been brave enough to use it, my 5'5" frame would have been too tall for the showerhead. The refrigerator was rusted, found a sock between the nightstand and the wall, cobwebs on the ceiling. The kicker was that my husband was up until 2am watching our car and chasing off meth tweakers looking in the windows. When he yelled at them, the temporarily fled like the cockroaches they are. He finally gave up and drove down the street to sleep in it for the next 4 hours. Thankfully we had our dog with us to stay with me in case there were any issues at our room. If I could give minus 5 stars, I absolutely would! The only pros were that the staff was very friendly and let us check in 4 hours early (is that a pro? maybe not), and the water pressure was great!

The rapids, those crisp, roaring punctuation marks, start writing the kind of afternoon you'll replay in your head for years. Then Alex, our guide, takes the mic. With the charm of a seasoned showman and the precision of a scientist, he turned a whitewater rafting adventure into something unforgettable. His wit is sharper than a dry martini. His knowledge of the river and the volcanic bones beneath it is the kind of insight that makes you feel smarter just for listening. He doesn't just steer the raft. He steers you through time, weaving in the geologic history of the canyon walls while pointing out an osprey nest perched high above, hatchlings inside, chirping beneath the wind. You hear the rapids before you feel them. Then comes the dance. Navigating tight fits between boulders. Gliding effortlessly over shallow shelves. The raft lifts and drops like it's in on the secret. The kids laughed. The adults let go. And when the moment was right, we jumped in. Cold, clean, and utterly refreshing. A shock to the system in the best possible way. It's family friendly in the purest sense of the phrase. Thrilling, but never reckless. Informative, never dull. Wild, but still welcoming. The Imperial River Company doesn't just offer whitewater rafting. They offer escape. The kind where you stop checking your watch and start listening to the water, the birds, the laughter echoing off canyon walls. Book the trip. Ask for Alex. Let the Deschutes show you what summer is supposed to feel like.
