I paid $30 for alterations on a new pair of pants, but the alterations were done incorrectly. When I went back to request the adjustments, the staff couldn't process the request, and the owner was too busy to help. I left without my pants fixed and will have to spend more money to get them fixed by someone else. read more

Would not honor Yelp discount, both counter server and owner said they never heard of it. Very disheartening considering that it's posted on Yelp and when I showed the app to them they both acted like they've never seen that and refused to honor the first time customer discount. Not sure how that could be misunderstood, however, that's what happened. Perhaps a Yelp representative could look into this and respond back. Of course I left the store without turning over my dry cleaning and I'll never go back to the store after this event. Well, I have to up the star rating this place now...the owner saw me in a coffee shop next door and wanted to correct the original problem I had with the cleaners. She wanted to bring in the trousers that were damaged and see if they could fix them. So, I obliged and brought them in. After a few days I went back and she had them repaired better than expected! The original hole was almost completely indistinguishable from other areas - they used a piece of my inside cuff and patched it in, exacting the pattern of the pants. Well done!! Now, they have earned more stars, and my business again. I will start using them again. read more

Did not have shirt ready by the ready-date, Monday, Jan 27, after assuring the previous Thursday they'll be ready. Needed the clothes before flight in the early morning the next day, Tuesday. Had to drive to another of their locations, off of hwy 21 to get it. Asked the owner if she'll dismiss the charge of $2.95 for the shirt since I had to drive to another location to receive it. "No, absolutely not, you have to pay" she said. It's not her problem the clothes weren't ready. They "have 2 days after due date to have clothes ready"... To top that off, the cleaners smells like an ashtray. Suit smelled like cigarettes after dry-cleaning. read more

I have used Covington Cleaners multiple times, but no more. Too many laundered shirts coming back with buttons that were melted off. Nothing more infuriating than picking out a shirt in the morning only to find one of the buttons was broken off. The last straw was a pair of expensive slacks that I brought in for dry cleaning. Yep, got them back with a back pocket button missing. If this type of thing was only very intermittent I'd have a different opinion. But the problem has become a consistent one and so, I cannot recommend this business and have shifted my laundry and dry cleaning business elsewhere. read more

Do not give this man your business. He is higher priced. But more importantly, an item was brought back to him that was not properly pressed. He began to harass and accuse us of lying. He was yelling and being completely unprofessional and disturbing to what was a very loyal customer. The item was still wrapped in his plastic and there was a receipt to show proof. No owner or worker in any business should deny a regular customer or any customer for that matter an opportunity to fix a product that they clearly failed to provide. We moved to LA from Atlanta,GA and it was quite a difference. I thought we had found a good and reputable and NICE cleaners. We have taken clothes several Times to be cleaned and Have been very happy until this weekend I took a comforter in to be dry cleaned. (It has roping, around the edges, and I asked for it to be dry cleaned. The lady very rudely told me she would not dry clean it, she would wash it. I agreed and she said to pick it up on Thursday. I also agreed...I was walking out the door and she very rudely said ... "it prepay" I said ma'am? She yelled again.."it prepay" I began to tell her I had brought many things to her cleaners and never prepaid. Always paid when I picked up and mind you this comforter wasn't a Walmart comforter. We paid a LOT for it and I wasn't about to leave it there. She went on to tell me she didn't owned the place and had for 15 years and that it had been prepay for the past 5 years. No place is it posted that it's prepaid. Long story short...she was rude...she obviously doesn't need my business and no I won't go back...aim fact she told me to find another cleaner....all the time I kept my cool and never said anything rude or disrespectful....maybe she was having a bad day, if so, her bad day cost her a customer and hopefully others will think twice before using her! read more

I'm currently working in the area for a couple if months and needed a place to have my laundry done. The service was excellent and expedient. The woman who I believe is the co-owner was always gracious and thankful for my business. She was elated that I brought in my co-workers to utilize the cleaners as well. My clothes were returned to me folded, clean, and in good shape. The location is conveniently located in a small shopping center with a cleaners and a coffee shop. read more

They don't even deserve one star. I have been taking my clothes there for quite a while, but the past few times, the clothes have all come back with a musty smell. The final straw was when I asked them to replace a broken zipper on a dark charcoal gray pair of pants and they were returned with a bright blue zipper and it didn't even work. I spoke to Mia on the phone and she told me that I brought it in with a bright blue zipper so she gave me the same. (Sorry, Perlis does not put bright blue zippers in suit pants.) When I mentioned that it had to be replaced because this new zipper didn't work, she instructed the cashier to give me my money back, that she didn't want to be bothered. Unfortunately, my experience with Covington Cleaners differs greatly from that of reviewers who assessed the five- and four-star ratings, posted in 2014 and 2013, respectively. On Saturday, August 19, 2017, I visited the North Highway 190 location to drop off garments for dry cleaning, including a maxi dress that was designed to flow out from the waist in soft, elongated, spiral ruffles. Although I only had an opportunity to wear the dress twice before entrusting it to Covington Cleaners, I received several compliments on how beautiful it was. I discussed with the owner, Mia, the care instructions on the label, and asked if it could be cleaned in a manner that would preserve the ruffles. I expressly inquired about the design not being flattened. Mia assured me that the ruffles would be preserved, and I left the dress, along with seven other items, for cleaning. When I picked up my order after work on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, I discovered that not only were the ruffles of my dress completely and utterly ironed out, but my zippered moto jacket was also missing the silver decorative button from the left lapel. When I called the following day to speak with Mia about the damage, she said she did not remember our conversation regarding my dress and added, "My presser is excellent ... makes no mistakes!" And, her response regarding the damage to my jacket, "Your jacket was like that when you brought it in. My husband took a picture of it." Although I normally do not write reviews, I made the time to write this one in the hope that sharing my experience will prevent others from having their garments damaged. In trying to find a positive in this, at least I can be thankful that my lesson learned with Covington Cleaners came at the expense of items I purchased on sale, minimizing my loss. read more
