It's a bit of a buy-in at $350, but they do three different x-rays to really diagnose what's going on. I'm a very visual person, so I really appreciated how thoroughly everything was explained and demonstrated. Using the neuropathometer, Dr. Mata (I think) and Dr. Chris clearly pinpointed where my issue was coming from. The $350 covers your x-rays and your first adjustment, and visits after that are only $50, not bad at all! I'll be coming alllll the time thanks to how close they are. He is very intuitive and knowledgeable and he's able to pinpoint the areas bothering me without me even having to tell him. I started coming here in November to address concerns with lower back and my neck. After coming here for a few months, I can highly recommend that you here for your Chiropractor needs. At 7 months we were told by our son's pediatrician that he had mild Torticollis. After doing some research we wanted to try a chiropractor. This is my first visit to a Chiropractor and I'm skeptical if this is going to help me. But pain is a powerful motivator. Prior to coming I called and asked how they worked. Price- $250 for exam $50 every following visit for adjustment. They confirmed that they didn't take my insurance. Cool-- no surprises. Air conditioning- YES! I knew the doc was going to touch me in places so I was building up some anxiety sweats. Why was I anxious? Who knows probably because I'm self-conscious. The AC was very nice. The paperwork was very minimal front and back. Reception was warm, friendly, and professional. I can't emphasis how nice it is to have a warm reception area. Like, if I'm sick and not feeling well, I don't want to deal with an unwelcoming staff. Covina Chiropractic Check in Procedure: At this office, you get a membership card. Membership cards are for you to check in the front desk and later check in a room when a room is ready for your adjustment. Patient room doors have a green and red status button. Green = the room is clean and ready for use. Red = don't come in. The status button is motion activated. One wave green turns to red. Another wave red turns to green. Cool system I love it. The Exam: I met with Dr. Tao. Just gonna put this out there. His posture reminded me of Jeffrey Donovan from Burn Notice. He greeted me and straight up asked me what was going on. I told him my story of why I was here. He did a physical assessment of my body. He put his hands on my head, neck, and back. I felt like a gummy bear being manipulated by a toddler. But from this small assessment he physically showed me that there were some issues. Like-- I couldn't turn left as far as I can turn right. What?! Mind blown! Then he took some x-rays of my neck, spine, and hip. Told me that he was gonna look at the pictures and discuss in the next room. Next room. He pulled out like a PowerPoint presentation and educated me about what normal spine looked like and the function of the spine. Along with how Chiropractors look at x-rays. Curve spine = healthy bubbles for the spine = healthy Space between spikey spines = healthy He explained to me the function of the nerves and how they're housed within the spine. The nerves carry signals to vital organs in your body. When they're disrupted, you'll get improper function from your organs or even pain. So when the spine is out of alignment or when bubbles were small or missing, you may get weird side effects. There was even a light up diagram of the spine/nerve segments that correlate to the organ functions-- super educational. He followed this up by showing my x-ray. My neck, spine, and hip. We compared the normal xray with mine. He pointed out some areas of concern and where my pain/discomfort is coming from. The cool part was he would point it out the areas of concern on the x-ray. Show me on his body where that bone was. Then he we go to my body and show me where the bone was. Then he explained his role and what he was going to do about them which is the adjustment. The Adjustment Table The bone cracking sensation- holy cow. Tao put me in positions that I felt so vulnerable. He was so strong it felt like he was flipping me like a pancake on Sunday morning. Just like you tube bone cracking videos. Mine cracked. Super scary experience. But more importantly, Dr Tao explained to me what to expect before every adjustment. I used to think I could do this at home. But after all the explanations from Tao I've changed my mind. Going to follow up in 1 week for another adjustment. Final Thoughts: I'm sad that once the disc space is gone. You can't really recover it. Getting older sucks. But at the same time. I'm very happy to learn about myself and how my spine works. This was the most important information that I got from Dr. Tao. This educational process was crucial for me because without having a reference point. I wouldn't know how to look at my own x-ray. I mean, how many times has a doctor showed me an x-ray and just said "here's the problem." Without context or some background information, it's really hard to appreciate and understand what the x-ray was for. Usually the x-ray is for the doctor's eyes only. At Covina I felt like it was for both of us. I never felt rushed. I was welcomed throughout the chain of staff. Dr. Tao welcomed and answered all my questions. Did it work? Not sure. I do feel less pain but I'm not sure if it's just a placebo. Going to trust the process and follow up with them. Would I recommend seeing Dr. Tao to friends and family? Hell yeah! I'm very happy money well spent. At minimum, you'll learn more about your spine anatomy and receive a professional-level explanation of what's going on with your spine. read more

I am 25 weeks pregnant with my second child. I cannot begin to explain the difference having chiropractic treatment this pregnancy. I am actually looking forward to my delivery to see how different it'll be. I've already had so much relief in my lower back and sleeping. I just had my first appointment here this past Thursday and I cannot recommend this place enough. My body just felt super blah and the massages weren't doing what I needed them to do to make me feel better. I had pain in my neck, hips and shoulders from poor posture and I knew I needed a good adjusting to fix me up BUT the biggest obstacle that stopped me that I was terrified of getting adjusted. I had watched a few YouTube videos to see what I was in for and gawd why did I do that. The sound of the cracking was literally the worst part for me. He assured me that they would take care of me and help me on my journey.
