I ordered bread from Mable's online to be picked up at Erin's, the store put my bread out and sold it before I could come get it. I was told to call the day before and pay, and I did try. .....but the stores voice message said they are having "yet again phone issues" so I could not do that. And last time I ordered I picked it up and paid the same day. The phone messaged went on and on about going to the website ect.... I was at work and did t have time for all that. Therefore I have no bread and 6 disappointed families which I will share this debacle. Mable stated it was the stores policy to pre pay... yet the VM says the phone line is having issues. I was offered no answer or solution... the store girls were rude, they put my bread order out and sold it. The store clerk said I could buy anything that was left over. They could have called my phone, as it was on the order slip before putting my order out for sale. I will not be going back, nor ordering bread from Mable's and picking it up at Erin's. Oh and I was told, when I pay, I have to pay over the phone and give some person all my credit card information. That's not safe. Sadly both Erin's and Mable lost a good customer.

I tried The Kindred (named after Octavia Butler's now classic novel) which is a toasted honey latte. This had a wonderful blend of coffee and the sweet honey syrup. I also tried the Settlement latte which is named after the African American community in this part of Prince William County. If you want to grab something to eat, they also have breakfast and lunch food options as well. Vibes: One of the best parts of this coffee shop! It's more than getting a cup of coffee; they've put a lot of thought into the decorations here which celebrate Black authors and artists. Parking was plentiful, and I immediately found a spot and hurried on in 30 minutes before closing. A lot of regulars appear to esteem this business, I know because several people were working on a Saturday morning with their laptops and their coffee and the second I walked up to the bar the waitress was ready for my order before I hesitated and let her know I would need a few minutes since it was my first time there. She was very kind and let me take my time deciding and pointed out the normal offerings and the seasonal specials. The pumpkin spice stood out of course....but the apple latte also sounded so yummy and I must admit, It did take me a little bit to decide. I was able to ask a couple questions, including if they prepared the chai mix in house and which syrups were made in house. The chai mix was not prepared in house BUT the apple syrup, the pumpkin syrup and the vanilla syrup were all prepared in house! SCORE! I decided to get a hot apple latte with half almond milk and half oat milk. I had asked the waitress if the sweetener that they make is really sweet and she informed me it wasn't. It was tasty. Once I left and drove home, as the drink was closer to the bottom of the cup, the coffee grains (or prob the cinnamon) became really grainy, so much so, it was caught in my throat. Now I am kicking myself because I it took me so long to enjoy a cortado from here. The baristas were very friendly. The young lady who helped me was not familiar with cortados, but she was willing to give it a try. She did great. The espresso to milk ratio was perfect. The milk was super hot, but a little time walking around the shop before sipping fixed that. What a shop!! From jewelry, to clothing, to paint, and stationary; this shop seems to have it all. On top of all the amazingly creative merchandise there is plenty of seating. I am very glad I finally visited this shop! Enjoying life one cortado at a time!
