We started the process in late August after confirming the rebate would end December 31st. These guys did everything they said they would do. Most vendors were booked through the end of the year but these guys took care of business. My PM Rana Mehmood and the site team lead Abraham were A1 professionals and very courteous even when I was freaking out over the holiday crunch. I really appreciate the overall service, the fair quote vs some of the competitors that came in way higher with their qoutes. And I love my solar energy and my free EV fuel.

I signed on early December hoping for the Duke rebate, it was a lottery, so I did not get upset because I did not receive it. It was bloody cold in January and the guys were on the roof installing the panels. Next was the hardware on the side of the house, I chose to buy one battery so if the electricity went out I could at least have lights, fridge, tv, internet. Maddie was my contact person and she was nice and worked hard to keep me up to date on what was next. The only thing I regret was I was not home when it was turned on, this is such a BIG investment until I really wanted to be here. Part of the contract was that after the first 18 months, Blue Raven was to send us a monthly chech of 43.94 to help with interest on the loan payments. The first year was fine but for the past year I have had to call at the end of each month to ask for my check. I am supposed to recieve them during the first week of the month. Every time I call I get the same answer, "it has just been approved and will be out within the next week". I did not call one month just to see what would happen and I never recieved that check. This is not the same company, (morally), I started with. There is no way I would recommend Blue Raven, Sunpower or whatever they call themselves now to anyone. They are getting a lot of advertising from me but it is not the kind they would like. I put my 2 cents in anywhere I can, with friends and neighbors, blogs even public bulliten boards.

In Early March there were some high winds and about a week later I found a piece of the acrylic…read morebubble that I thought it became loose from the skylight on my roof and when I looked up there was still another piece in place so could not figure out where it came from. It turns out the second piece blew away too and left an open hole on the roof only two days after I looked the first time. I found Sun4light on a Thursday and they told me they will be here the following Monday at 10. I placed a tarp to cover the hole because there was rain in the forecast. They showed up as scheduled and gave me an estimate the next day so I hired them to do the job and they gave me a date to do the job after March 20th in the middle of the pandemic. They were doing another job on the same block and when I asked for a discount the lady in the office told me she would give me a "neighborhood" discount. Again, they showed up as scheduled, and did the job in a couple of hours not including the time they spent to go to the store to buy the matching shingles. He took pictures and sent them to me since I did not go to the roof myself. Because of "social distancing" when I was presented with the bill I saw no discount but I wasn't going to argue back and forth so I wrote the check and decided to ask the lady later. I was told I would get a receipt in the mail The next day it rained dogs and cats so I claimed to the attic to see if I would find any puppies or kittens but it was all high and dry. A few days later I called the lady in the office and reminded her of the discount. Check and receipt arrived Monday this week in the mail and because I am paranoid about the virus I don't open my mail but 4 days after I pick it up. I just opened today and found check, receipt and a nice note from the lady in the office. 21 stars to this company, they did not only do a good job but they put their money where their mouth is

Engaged Ron to fix a Velux blind that is stuck halfway. I should note this had happened before and…read morea handyman had fixed the problem. The handyman is no longer available, so went with Velux certified repairman. There was a $120 service fee just to show up. Despite telling him over the phone that the blinds were 18' feet off the ground, he did not bring a ladder tall enough to reach upper end of blinds. He then spent a half hour on the phone with technician at Velux to get instructions on how to repair ($30 time) but only being able to reach lower end of the blind. He "determined" he could not fix the blind and said my best course was not only to replace blind (which is one of four) but replace the skylights and spent whole time reviewing how much better new blinds with solar power are. I asked him just to release the blind tension so it would stay up, but he had not brought a tall enough ladder to do this. So for $150 he did nothing to repair the blind, wasn't even prepared to do so, and spent the time instead trying to sell me on replacing my four skylights (none of which have an issue) to the tune of several thousand dollars. Glorified salesman, am disappointed in Velux.
