I found Ernesto through several five star reviews and took a risk in hiring someone I did not know. The risk paid off in a jackpot! Ernesto was extremely communicative and was able to meet every request I had. He changed pick up times and amounts as RSVPs changed. He was always polite and communicated in a timely manner. When I picked up the food I was pleasantly surprised by the pristinely clean kitchen he cooked in. We exchanged stories of family as he allowed me to taste each dish he had made. The rub he uses is the best BBQ rub I have ever tasted in my life! I highly recommend the ribs and pulled pork, beans, and Italian potato salad. Ernesto and his food are five star and you will be lucky to have him cater your next event. He is such a good person, and I love supporting local small businesses of people who work hard, are passionate about what they do, and put out excellent products at a competitive price. I absolutely recommend Whistle Pig Smokehouse and Ernesto.

Meola Catering was attentive to our needs and easy to work with even with all the raw emotions and stress that surround a funeral. The funeral service ran a little late, but the food was still hot and fresh. I usually get my 3 item BBQ combo so I don't stand there salivating at the menu and looking like a crazy person. lol! I love the combos as you can gather up the delicious BBQ sauces (do NOT tell me to pick one- I will cry as every single one is delicious). Should out to the mustard one. This girl here does not like mustard- and I usually snag two containers of that magic stuff. If you go in the afternoon during the summer- you get a beautiful view of the Harbor bridge and some awesome sailboats breezing by. The staff is smiling and fast. The only downside is- the BBQ is so good, our friends the local bees want it all to themselves and have been known to chase me around a few chairs outside. lol. I'm still leaving my 5 star because I'm not letting the bees win. Not sharing Mr Bumble, so buzz off. Literally.

The jalapeño cornbread was next to my coleslaw and absorbed the juice from it so the taste was a little off. I should have asked for it on the side. I don't have a sweet tooth but still took a bite of my husband's Oreo cookies n cream cake and if you have a sweet tooth you'd love it. My husband ate the whole slice in seconds.
