They were coated in a weird-tasting, heavy, syrupy sauce that was nothing close to a real General Tso flavor. Even the rice tasted stale like it was made days ago and re-heated. When I walked to the kitchen to complain, I witnessed the cook pouring a motor oil looking stir-fry sauce from a three gallon container I've seen at costco. If you know what REAL chinese food is supposed to taste like, avoid this place like the plague.

My dad and myself befriended the owners/operators when they first came to town and tried to help them find a place to live. They walk to work 7 days a week and are the only cooks there so they are very hard working. They're genuinely nice people and want to make an honest living but there is a bit of a language and culture barrier. So don't think they're being rude on purpose as Chinese culture is very different from ours. (My dad travels there regularly for work and can describe the huge differences, basically, no manners there.) with all that said, ... the food is great. Consistently some of the best (Americanized) Chinese food around. I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal there, although I highly recommend you get the food to-go based on the fact that the sit in service is not very good. It's a clean facility, although there's reasons for poor eat-in service, you won't be pleased. In conclusion, call your order in; they typically don't get it wrong over the phone, pick it up fresh 20 minutes later and enjoy a delicious meal, I have yet to get Hau Po for someone and have them end up disappointed, most people even say it's much better than New Orient in Ashtabula. Always thought this place was great and I don't know of anyone who disagrees, enjoy!

The business is just take out, as the ambiance is quite plain and not much to rave about because you simply walk in, pay and walk out with food... Doesn't matter what I order, they tell me 10 minutes and I get there shortly after and it's ready. I assume most is pre prepped but doesn't seem to affect the quality. If you are in the mood for some fried, "carby" food other than fast food, then I recommend hau po.

I had jasmine tea and crab rangoon to start. The rangoon itself was like manna, something I'd never had before. It came with a light, mildly spicy sauce that improved on perfection. I chose Pumpkin Curry with pork as my main course. Upon my first bite, my taste buds danced. It was like "are kidding me? Food can taste this good?" It was a generous portion I look forward to having again at home. Prim is a server with an innate ability to best accommodate a customer's needs: timing, food recommendations, and a natural warmth that can't be taught. You have it or you don't. Prim has it. I look forward to returning with my family. I would drive an hour to come here. Lucky for me, it's 15 minutes away. Ko Puhn to Prim and the chefs!

I get it ALL the time because it is not only consistently delicious, and perfect (did I mention I'm a PICKY pain in the arse?) I had a couple of Chinese food places on the West side which were good, and also two Thai places- but Hong Kong King blows all of them away. They're reasonable! And the owner who always greets me is adorable. I also am thrilled because I can also get my Bubble Tea fix in!!! Yay for Taro Bubble Tea! Rora had a Green Tea from here and her Tofu with Brown sauce- she's also picky. It passed the Rora test too. It is for the time being a take out only, and that's just fine for me. I do see renovations getting closer, so maybe in the future it'll be a Buffet again. I love their food though- YUM! When I first moved out here to the Geneva area, I told friends that I needed to have a good Chinese place! Since I had four that I frequented back on the west side -that was a sore spot with me moving to the east. When Hong Kong King buffet reopened post covid, I was practically beating down their door lol! I will also say on the consistency of the food here everything I've ordered is always cooked perfectly and delicious! Give this wonderful little treasure a try and don't forget to grab yourself a bubble tea too!

Osaka is hidden in a city called Madison that is small and far from everything. I was here for work and my hotel happen to be 5 mins away. I ate here everyday for a week. My go to is the Rainbow roll, Philly, Cali and Village. All were perfect. I also like the black widow, which is their version of a Spider roll. Everything tasted fresh and fish slices were thick. Service was quick. I can't really complain bc every time I went, it didn't seem busy. It's a small town so of course, I didn't expect to see large gatherings or crowded dining rooms. The ambiance kind of threw me off, I do wish it had more of an Asian feel. Asian music or maybe even movies on the TVs that were at the table. Either way I fell in love with this place and would definitely return. I hope they do well and get busier!

I had some friends tell me to try another place in Erie that they had the BEST Chinese and so I did. That place didn't even come close compared to China One. Definitely is not a Hibachi so I'm not sure why they named themselves as such. I agree with other reviews, the interior is very cold and uninspired. Ice Age is always playing on the t.v. anytime I've been there. Most of the staff are very polite and kind, except one girl. The only American girl I've seen working there, she is quite rude anytime I've had an interaction with her. She's always smiling, sweet and polite to my husband but I've never got so much as a fake smile from her and she's always very short and rude. Everyone else though has been very polite and professional. I would recommend ordering your choice as a dish by itself instead of a combination meal bc you definitely do not get much when it's a combination. I like how you are given the option of what type of rice you would like to go along with it and most of them do not incur an extra charge (I believe just the shrimp fried rice costs a little bit more). Before this change they were always very good about substituting fried rice in place of white with no extra charge if ordering online. There is also an option for how spicy you would like your dish as well which is nice, although I can't say that I was able to taste a difference between mine and my daughters. Hers was mild and mine spicy but they both tasted the same to us. I'm hoping because this is something fairly new to their ordering maybe they haven't worked out all of the kinks. As I said don't let the looks of this place discourage you from giving it a try, they have really good food.
