I tried to go to the highly rated Milrich, but waited outside their store for an hour at opening and no one showed up. I tried calling on several occasions to make sure someone was there before driving over, and no one ever answered. Couture was completely different. I called and asked how quickly they could turn around a dress that needed altering (a week, they said), brought my dress over, they did their measurements, and less than a week later I was picking up a perfectly tailored dress that cost $75. Cash only and due upfront, but they let me pay on pick up because I forgot to bring cash (oops). Will definitely come back! read more

Scam! If you have anything hemmed they only press the area they sewed per Christina at store, so they give it back to you all wrinkled, then you ask them to press and they charge you $5 more! Ruined all my brand new spring clothes, made all tops and pants to short, so be very careful as i asked where she put a safety pin is that where hem will be and she said no it would be 2 inches lower and it wasn't, everything was 2 inches too short which is where she put safety pin so it was not what was originally said. Also brought in new pants that had back pockets stitched in corners asked her to open them up, she sewed both completely shut, had to go back and ask to have them opened up as that is what i asked previously, she said oh, ok. When back 2nd time picked them up and she opened back up the parts she sewed wrong, but still left corners shut! I asked her before i left, did you open the back pockets on the pants, she replied Yes, i got home and she did not completely open them, so she blatantly lied right to my face! DISGRACEFUL! She should not even be working there ir anywhere for that matter! Also, had raincoat tailored she hemed sleeves and the designer label was half sewn under hem and half on outside of sleeve (are you kidding me?) Who would do such a thing. Once they cut can't be fixed. Also cash only to be paid in advance, this should tell you something right there, they should accept credit cards and pay taxes like a regular busoness! If you took the store over in the last few months you might want to be careful not to thrash your semi annual customers who a couple times a year bring in 5 or so items to be altered. A couple times a year potentially for life. Not only are you alienating my significant other - you have had me flip my 5 glorious star review into a pathetic one star. The lady there isn't the people we are used to. The people there in the past were lovely. The woman who she asked if she was the new owner barked back "I am the owner". Well if you are - we won't be back. It was a cheap $5 pants shortened place way back when... I could overlook the cleanliness for the service. No more. It's a dirty dirty place. Old and run down. The owner doesn't like keeping customers. Thinking about coming here. It's no longer $5... it's not really one hour anymore- she complains when you ask... and it's dirty. Bye. I will be returning again :) I brought a pair of $100 jeans here to be shortened. I was nervous at first but they are close to my house and the price for a hem is so affordable ($7) I thought I would try them out. I did not use the one hour service I dropped them off, had the woman measure my hem, and picked them up a week later. The hem job is well worth the price. My only tiny complaint is that the stitching thread color she used on the hem is a different color (yellow) then the one one the rest of my jeans (tan). If this matters to you I suggest asking her to show you in advance which colors she has to use and pick the one you want, or bring in your own thread for her to use. No one can tell it is different. So its not a big deal. read more

I don't typically do not use a tailor much, but I have recently brought in several items to shortened and such. I have found Ideal and her husband nothing less than nice people and her work is great. I highly recommend her. As for the other people who have complaints, only deal with people who you think provide good service to you. I do think you are missing the mark with Ideal, but that's just my opinion, just like you have yours. If you really expect to get a hem done for $5 I think you are sadly mistaken. Is she not allowed to earn a fair living wage? Even if it takes her 45 mins to do a hem, just labor alone is more than $5 for 45 mins. If you need something in an hour, same on you. You should have planned better. Ideal is working hard, deserves respect, and is has been nothing but professional with me. I am sure when business is better she would be able to hire help, but when people want her to work for almost free, that is not going to happen. read more

I have been to this tailor about 3x since it originally opened. Along the way I suspect it changed owners not sure. I went in for a simple hem job today at the $5 price (had been there about a month with 3 others--came out great.) I have no problem with their work. I have a problem with their personality, pricing and attitude. I was also asked for phone number, have never recd a call when they are done though. Today, as with last time, told him I have one leg that is a little longer about 1/4-1/2 inch, he then told me it would be $9 (bait and switch?) because that is more work. He did it the other time and never mentioned it. This guy seems to be in a rotten mood and there was not that much business on the racks. So I was disappointed with that. Thank God the other 2 pair I bought ended up being a smaller size and happened to be just the right length for me so I did not need to do those. Years ago when this place first opened, they had the $5 sign for shortening out and then they raised it to $7 then $10. I think they lost a lot of customers when it went to $10 as then I noticed the new sign of $5 and I started going back there. They do have on the inside door dressing room-a sample of 3 hems at $5-9 and what the differences look like if you want fancier. I was willing for him to have to do the legs just the same length but he refused to do that at the regular price, so it left me with a bad feeling. I'm not sure what happened here. I've brought a lot of things here to be hemmed. It has always been the same people and 5 dollars for a hem and you could pay a few dollars extra for same day. Notice the name of the place? One hour... A couple weeks ago I brought some pants in and the prices are now double and it's a new person. I didn't question it and figured the prices just went up. I asked for them back in 3 or 4 days later and she could accommodate it. Today I go in with two pants and she wanted to take a week to do them. I asked for Friday afternoon. It's Tuesday and she was very bothered by that. They were unlined. I pointed out that you advertise same day and she gave me this song and dance about it being prom season. I questioned if the place has changed ownership and she got very mad. I know it has, it's very obvious since I've been there so often. I'll bring them them elsewhere after her behavior. A piece of advice for the new owner - be careful who you treat that way. Your bread and butter is people like me needing pants and minor alterations done. It's a standard (somewhat dirty) tailor shop. It's not the place you bring your wedding dress or a nice suit to be altered. Best of luck new owner...I'm 5'1 and like clothes. Besides, I've never had any garment I needed in an hour so that means jack to me. I hear Mass General is doing a triple bypass in 45 minutes. Now that's a deal. Mixed results here. I've taken several pants to be hemmed. Dress pants hem was $10. Jeans are $9. On 2 occasions, I had to return pants to be hemmed again, because they were longer than the length we measured at the shop. She shortened it to the correct length at no extra charge. I brought a suit jacket here to have the sleeves shortened, and I had to return again because the left arm was longer than the right. When I did that, I was told "sometimes people have one arm longer than the other." (Interesting, I didn't think my limbs were that way before I arrived here...lol) This isn't true, as I matched the shoulders up at the seams and the sleeves did not match evenly. When I picked it up the second time, it was done correctly, and the length was the same for both arms. Also, she removed all 4 buttons at the bottom of the arm sleeves and threw them away. Why wouldn't she just sew them back on? The buttons were part of the suit design. I didn't realize I'd have to ask beforehand to keep buttons. Watch out for that. One plus for Couture is that they do quality work. I've been to Michael's tailor on Rt. 9 and he charged more, yet within a month his stitching was coming undone. That hasn't happened here. I'm not returning, but maybe your experience will be different than mine. When they do the right measurements, the quality of work is very good. Couture hours are Mon - Fri: 8am-7pm, Sat: 9-4, and Sunday is closed. read more

I love this place! The ladies who work here are very friendly and provide fast, high quality service. I've used them to add snaps between buttons on dress shirts (so as not to give peep shows out at work), for hemming pants, and for sewing patches on kids' girl scout outfits. All work has been flawless, and they stay open late enough to pick stuff up after work. read more

I would like to add. I just got my pants back from another tailor who corrected the poor work couture one hour tailor did and did not stand behind. Bought a dress for a special event that needed some tailoring around the waist. Last Saturday I went to Couture 1 hour Tailors and the tailor was very helpful and although I told her I didn't need the dress until next Saturday she stated she would have it ready on Thursday. I left work early on Thursday to be able to pick it up before they close at 7p. When I arrived, no one acknowledged me. The two tailors were working with clients, but I hate when I walk into a business and they do not even acknowledge you or say "I'll be right with you." After 15 minutes of waiting one of the tailors came to help me. She took my ticket and was looking for my dress, which I saw hanging untouched where they marked "Thursday." When she couldn't find my dress, I had to point it to her where it was hanging with pins coming off its sides. She told me they tried calling me, which was obviously a lie as I have my phone with me and never got a call or a voicemail from them. But I said I would be back on Saturday morning to pick it up as I would need it on Sunday. Now it's Saturday and I am sitting in my car. The owner advertises that they open at 9am. I arrived here 9:06. One of other tailors is standing outside the store. Unable to get in to start working. When I asked if they are opening today she said yes, but perhaps later as the owner is not here yet. So now my dress is being held hostage by a tailor who obviously doesn't care about customer service. 20 minutes of waiting the owner finally arrived as I was sitting outside. I walked in and they didn't even apologize or acknowledge the fact that I had been out there waiting. If you care about good customer service, don't bother coming here. read more

Brought in a pair of children's pants to have the pant legs thinned and tailor did a nice job BUT thought the price was a bit expensive for what was done. He only took in the leg no new hem $20. Plus he tried to charge extra for the 1 hour service. I called ahead and asked if I could the pants done in an hour and he said no problem and didn't mention extra charge. Since hem was $9 thought the job would be closer to $15 at most. read more

Do not use this tailor! I needed an easy same day repair done. Sewing two buttons on a sports coat. I asked if I could pick it up at 3pm on my way to the airport. He agreed. I returned at 3pm and found a hand written note. Closed, be back in one hour. Had to catch my flight so I ended up having to buy a new sports coat at my destination. Came in to pick up the jacket after the holiday. Charged me, no remorse, no apologies. I complained and he could not care less. Was happy to lose all my future business and that of anyone I can tell. read more

I had a very mixed experience here. I live in MetroWest and found this tailor after reading mostly positive reviews online. I had alterations to dress pants and tops done on two separate occasions and the work was great. The people here, however, are not the most friendly; I'm actually surprised that anyone knows the names of the women who work here since conversation is typically lacking when I drop off, pick up, or am fitted for alterations. Most recently, I brought in a dress to have padding put into the chest. When I dropped off the dress and pads together, I was not asked to try the dress on so unsurprisingly, the pads didn't fit properly against my body. I went back for an adjustment and this time measurements were taken. Fast forward five days to my scheduled pickup date and the work had not been done; the seamstress wanted to fit me one more time to be sure the measurements were correct, which I appreciate in concept, but I was frustrated that no one had bothered to call me in the interim to return for this additonal fitting. And since I needed the dress for an event the following week, I didn't have the time to wait for these final adjustments to be made. What was, however, most frustrating was their reluctance to refund me the $12 that I had paid for the alterations to the dress in advance since the work had not yet been done. I ultimately got my money back, but will not be using this tailor again. read more

Ruined two suits... Hugo Boss red label.. paid over $700 each. Made the mistake of taking these to this tailor.. Asked to lengthen the sleeves /1/2 inch. They sticked pices of poor quality cloth at the end of the sleeves and told me that i asked them to do this ???? they do not know what they are doing and on top of it dished attitude instead of admitting fault. Not to mention took over four weeks to return the suits. The suits sit in my closet now as a reminder to never use a tailor with a $7 sign in front of the store -- at the least not this one. read more
