Such a strange experience today, I am not sure where to start. The new owner was at first helpful, but as I gathered items to try on she and another employee were speaking unkindly about me in Spanish...they kept treating me with suspicion almost the assumption that I must not be trusted to not steal....I am not sure what their issue was. I haven't ever stolen, and I had no intentions of starting today, but they were certainly concerned and acting rudely. Racism of another flavor I guess. I felt unwelcome, and uncomfortable. One hovered like a hawk. Another acted mildly annoyed when asked a question. The quality of the clothing is not the same. You could likely do much better at the MAM boutique on N Blalock and that money goes to a good cause. I used to love this store and recommend it, but it is no longer the same quality of clothing and kind service. :/....... rude is rude in any language.... and just because someone looks like they cannot understand what you are saying, I wouldn't bank on it.

They mainly do business with vintage shops and boutiques, but they have recently decided to open their doors to the public on the last Saturday of each month. The set-up of Top Vintage is like a warehouse (of win). However, if you are expecting a disorganized joint where shoppers are left to fend for themselves, you are sorely mistaken. They have all their items arranged into areas and bins, from dresses to overalls to jackets to shorts to shoes to bags/backpacks. During July's Top Saturday, they even hand-picked some black and white items to go on separate racks for easier browsing. As a vintage shopper, it is a prime source of goods and the Saturday events are like treasure hunts. It's that much more rewarding to take something home when you know you've worked to discover it. The staff is very kind and helpful and it is a great environment to shop. To see how much people love what they find here, check out Top Vintage's instagram, which they keep updated with fun combinations and pictures of their items that are out in the wild with their new owners.

I was contacted by The Vintage Contessa & Times Past for an interview for the Luxury Sales &…read moreMarketing Associate position. After expressing my interest and confirming availability, I was later informed that the interview would not move forward. The decision changed only after the hiring manager viewed my Instagram profile, which includes older modeling photos from years ago. I was not evaluated based on my 25 years of experience in fine jewelry, luxury retail, and management -- experience that more than exceeds the job's listed qualifications. Shortly after viewing my social media, I received a message from Donae Chramosta, stating the decision was based on "overall brand alignment and fit for our team culture and direction." Given the timing and circumstances, it is clear that this decision was not based on my background or abilities but rather on personal judgment related to my appearance Definitely think they are super judging superficial and racist. This behavior constitutes discrimination and bias, as hiring decisions should be made based on qualifications and experience -- not someone's looks or past modeling photos. I take great pride in my professional record, and I find it disappointing that a company representing luxury and inclusivity would instead base its decisions on appearance rather than capability. While I respect their right to choose a candidate, I would not want to work for an organization that displays discriminatory behavior or fails to appreciate true professional experience and integrity. It reflects poorly on their values and company image.
