The Courtyard in St. Cloud is decent for a stay if you are in the area. This is not your standard Courtyard - it is a retrofitted hotel with the Courttyard banner. The lobby in here was pretty lively when I stayed and they keep some music bumping. The staff was nice and got me checking in quickly. This hotel is right near St. Cloud State University and all the downtown restaurants and bars. My king suite was pretty large, but sort of outdated. The bed was pretty soft, but the pillows wouldn't keep their shape. The linens could use replacement and the overall comfort level was average. I am guessing these rooms have seen some wild nights based on their location near a college campus. They did have a nice high power shower that woke up really nicely! There is a restaurant and bar in the lobby. It was pretty packed when I got back from dinner on a Wednesday night. They know how to have fun in St. Cloud!

Pleasantly surprised with my stay here this week. Lots of hotels in St Cloud but not much quality. The Courtyard by Marriott is an exception. Very clean and nicely decorated lobby and bistro area. I had an issue with my first assigned room but the friendly staff got me taken care of and moved right away. The rooms are well appointed with a bed on one side, an island dresser, couch, wet bar with a microwave. Bathroom was very nice. Would definitely stay here again!

The chair is completely old and worn.

I stay at Courtyard's everywhere, but this one is really run down. The lobby is nice, but the room was really shabby. Definitely not up to Marriott standards. There is no Internet TV available. Not at all what I'm used to at a Courtyard.

Still awesome! The service is second to none. this is my go-to-place when attending a conference at the Rivers Edge. Used the fitness center this time. Each piece of equipment has its own TV. Bring your corded headphones though. Very clean. Small but has enough to do to stay in shape for the visit. Also used the whirlpool and pool. Very clean and comfortable. Can't wait to go back for the next visit. The King rooms are very nice!

The food tables wouldn't have been a mess and all the options on the menu would have been available. I bet there may have even been plates! Guys. What on earth? This is a special day and you have been doing this for years! What food there was, was alright. But we couldn't have soup because the heat turned off and it was thick and congealed, we couldn't have a crepe because no one was refilling the whip cream. We couldn't have smoked salmon because there was none. We couldn't have steak because they ran out but left the sign. We could barely have sliced prime rib.. it frequently ran out and when the last one came out it was very rare.. lemonade and tea were not mixed appropriately. Completely laughable. No servers came by to take our drink order. Big opportunity missed. Servers were everywhere but apparently not running the dish washer, and also they were taking our food plates without asking if that person was finished. People! You were open until 2pm. What on earth are you trying to pull here. At 12:45 the soup and crepes were done for. The meat selections were out. What exactly was worth $34.99? We tried this brunch ten years ago and were disappointed. Thought we would try it again. We will never be back.

I called the hotel and talked to a manager and she refunded my 7 extra nights but was not able to explain why the extra charges occurred. I didn't think much of it and was just happy my card got refunded. 2 weeks later I had $844 charged to my credit card and called again to inquire about it. The front desk person couldn't look into it but said the manager Gina would look into it for me and return my call. She never returned my calls. I called back 2 days later and the same front desk person answered and remembered me and said Gina would be in at 3pm and also gave me her email address. I asked the front desk person to have Gina call me back when she came to work for the day. I also composed an email to her detailing my issues with my confirmation number and asking her for a call back. My email and calls were never returned. I called back 2 days later and a different guy said he could look into it and said he saw a lot of strange charges but didn't understand them. He said he would get with his manager and call me back later that night. He never called back. I called back again and he said it would have to wait for Gina to call me back. I asked for a copy of the charges to emailed to me and he said he would. He never did. I called today to talk to the GM Brad, the front desk person said he was in but not in his office and offered to send me to his voicemail. I was then transferred to his voicemail and it was full and not able to accept new voicemails. I tried calling the front desk back, but the phone rang for 2 minutes and then hung up on me, I tried again and the same thing happened. I waited 10 minutes and tried calling again, but it still rang for 2 minutes and then hung up on me. At this time the issue is still unresolved.

The lobby area is welcoming and fits the woodsy/cabin theme with some cute deor. Our room was spotless and so cute. It was a fishing theme and felt so cozy. It was quiet overnight. The extra little bar sink outside the bathroom is a thoughtful addition (as is the mirror.) Our room looked out to the back with the river in sight. Lots of early morning fisherman parked in the lot but we didn't hear a thing. The bathroom was a good size and sparkling clean. Cute shower curtain with a dock/lake on it! Breakfast was serve yourself and they had a good assortment of bagels/english muffins/cereal/oatmeal/waffles. Coffee, tea, hot cocoa and milk (& maybe juice? I'm not a juice drinker). There is a pool as well as a conference center here too. They had a fireplace in the lobby plus some seating and games/books. It would be a good spot for sit if you wanted to be out of the room We'll be back to this little gem!

That's what I expected here. But no. This treasure of a roadside inn is clean and comfortable, with an open, welcoming lobby and sitting/dining area, and each room is designed with a unique theme (we stayed in the "Music Notes" room flanked by other rooms such as "Lighthouse," "The Lodge," and "Ooh, La, La Paris.") Our music-themed room was adorned with a drum pendant light, guitars, artwork, etc., which inspired us to really look at and appreciate this space. And you know how hotels that care crisply fold the edge of the toilet paper roll? This place (in a first for me) folds edges into a rose. How cute is that? Pre-dogs, we used to stay at fine hotels, but The Four Seasons can't match this place for thoughtfulness and detail, dollar for dollar. One final note to travelers with dogs: green spaces along the River and a small neighboring park (Lions) offer a welcomed end-of-a-long drive romp for the dogs.
