Needed one last place to stay in Edinburgh prior to flying out and wanted to try somrplace different from the Marriott near the airport. The courtyard Marriott is about a 10-15 min drive to the airport, not too far but a bit off the beaten path. It's located near a college campus (or literally on the campus as you can walk there), has free parking, and is about as new as you'll get in Scotland. However, public transportation is sorely lacking so be prepared to drive or Taxi.
Prices were very reasonable, check-in was quick and efficient as well. Had a nice large 2 queen room on the top (4 or 5?) Floor with floor to ceiling windows and a humongous bath (not kidding, its probably larger then some apartments with a soaking tub.)
Closet space was ample, and the room had plenty of room as well. Small chair and desk was sufficient as well as a reading table. Beds were very comfortable, and the A/C worked fabulously. Modern conveniences. Wi-fi wasn't an issue as well, and though we didn't have breakfast, the spread looked really nice in the morning. read more
