Overpriced, Noisy, and Far from Edinburgh - Avoid at All Costs
Our Cosmos tour had us stay here, and we paid an additional $395 for an extra night. What a complete waste of money. The hotel is incredibly loud at night -- trains constantly pass by, and groups of people gather outside near the trash area for smoke breaks and loud conversations well into the night. Getting any sleep was nearly impossible.
We went down for lunch at noon and were told we couldn't order food until 12:30, but could order from the so-called "24-hour menu." The options were terrible -- low-quality pizza and sandwiches that tasted like something from a gas station.
To make matters worse, the location is far outside of Edinburgh, so getting anywhere interesting is inconvenient and expensive. It's clear Cosmos uses this hotel because it's one of the few with open availability -- and after staying here, it's easy to see why.
Bottom line: Do not stay here under any circumstances. It's overpriced, noisy, and completely lacking in quality or convenience. read more
